Oatmeal, are you CRAZY?

Hey folks. It's been awhile.
I bet you're all wondering what the hell happened to me the past, oh... *looks at calendar* holy shit, TEN MONTHS.
Suffice to say I wasn't particularly busy, any more than usual, but I just kinda fell out of drawing. I kept meaning to hit the sketchpad every week almost and it just never happened. Even now I'm thoroughly exhausted from the last two pieces I uploaded. Let me tell you, doing colored lines BY HAND in fucking Gimp without a tablet is a pain in the ass. Which brings me to another thing which I'm sure the last two uploads have you wondering:
Yes, I'm a fan of Friendship is Magic. It all happened rather strangely. One day right after I got Skyrim in the mail, I was looking up parodies of "Fus Roh Dah" (a shout attack in the game) and I came across this wonderful animation of some yellow pegasus doing it. I had no idea wtf I was looking at, all it said was "Fluttershy does fus ro dah." So I looked her up, found something I thought was called "Equestria" which I took to be some fan-made My Little Pony parody. Then I found out what it was REALLY called, that it was a real show, and that guys like me actually LIKED it.
So what the fuck right?
So I watch the first episode with my head held in my hands, realized it was kinda neat, watched another one, then another and another. Soon I had gone through half the first season, and I was hooked. Totally. I was enamored of these wonderful, hilarious and surprisingly smart and urbane little ponies. BUT NIGHTWEAVER IT'S NOT SONIC WUT Yeah I know I know. Look, work with me on this one. This show is fucking great; it just is.
There are a lot of people out there (insecure kiddies mainly) who still think MLP is for girls only and if you like it you're a faggot or a manchild or autistic or a dirty Paki or something. Yes I've been called all that, just since I found it a little over a month ago. But trust me. (You guys trust me, right?) This isn't your mother's My Little Pony. This is smart and self-aware and extremely expressive and well animated and... well I could go on for awhile. The producers of the show really love what they do, and it shows. They've created a show that has truly universal appeal, and worthy of every single bit of popularity it has received.
Now, I'm not as good a fanartist as John Joseco or Equestria Prevails or Megasweet, but I'm going to try my hand at doing some fanart for the show. The fan community is VERY talented; they produce top-notch mashups, music (chiptune and otherwise), art, fanfics and just about everything else under the sun. I honestly haven't felt this at home in a fan community since I found the Sonic fandom, and this one is in general a hell of a lot more skilled and mature.
I still don't know how much art I'll be able to give you guys; my work schedule is still busy and on my days off I'd rather relax and play vidya gaemz. To be honest. But I'll see what I can do. If nothing else, this is just a little shout-out to my buds letting you know your ol' pal Nightweaver is still bucking.

FA+

And don't worry about the whole "for girls" thing. I enjoyed watching the original series but love this one even more. Less sing-songy.
I'm doing my part for the community. Stories galore.
I'm openly a huge fan at home; I do get the occasional bit of ridicule, but they can go screw themselves! Ponies FTW.
so fave pony and why??
fave ep??
what do you like best about the show??
any one you don't like??
any thing you don't like about the show??
Fave ep? Lesson Zero has my vote for sheer silliness, and for showing you can show a toon go totally OCD in a kids' show and they won't censor it. But my heart will always leap at the chance to watch the Cutie Mark Chronicles. It's so sweet and touching and ties in Rainbow Dash with the rest of the mane six. Makes me cry at the end. "Awwww I love you guys!"
I like the fact that the writing is so smart that it transcends writing for girls, or kids for that matter, and makes the characters so deep and human that adults can watch it and read so much into them. It's an open sandbox of a world; the producers have truly created a world that feels real and whole; a wonderful gaslight fantasy world so complex it ranks up there with Lord of the Rings, or at least Avatar for its world building effort. Fans have made entire world maps of their planet, detailed and complete with the nations surrounding Equestria. I've never seen that from a cartoon show.
Hmm, any pony I don't like? That is hard, they all have their good points. I hate to do it to Twilight, but I don't really like Spike. I mean, I understand their relationship and how he has a crush on Rarity and all that, but I just never get that same feeling of a person behind the eyes. His personality seems a bit shallow (even after Secret of my Excess), and I guess maybe it's also his design I don't like. I never cared much for chubby dragon designs; I like the sleek, armored variety myself.
The one thing that stands out that I don't like are the animation errors. Some of them are quite obvious, some you wouldn't know unless you knew where to look. But from the most obvious one of Dash's face going BEHIND a duck that was like 20 feet in the background (Flash layering error) to simple laziness like crowd doubling in Luna Eclipsed (they doubled the CMC, I mean come on). I hope their reasons aren't "these stupid kids can't tell the difference." Sometimes the writing is a bit stiff and forced as well. But neither of those things really detracts from the overall feeling of the show.
but win are you not??
I like Pinkie and Twi.
I love to read and party.
But I LOVE Dash best.
Lesson Zero is a good ep.
Twi go crazy!
Cutie Mark Chronicles is so very good.
it show just way Dash is best pony.
But i like all the CMC eps.
Show stopers is one of my faves.
Hearts warming eve is my new fave.
it is just a good show.
I can't pic anypony/one i don't like.
Well the show is just made to fast for it's own good at times.
