FC recap and review

Positives:
- Had an awesome amazing time!
- Meeting tons of people I've only met online! :D
- Hanging out with mah friends. I never thought I'd know so many people there, so that was surprising!
- OMFG trying on people's heads! I'm always so appreciative of people when they let me try their fursuit heads on, because I know it's kind of imposing. I got to try on
Divio 's head and
sekrel 's partial.
- I fell in love with the toony-ness of
sekrel 's head, and I've decided on getting a fullsuit from DTWA/
because of all the electronics offered in their suits. <3
- Bloop!
- I met a full suiter with an LED hula hoop which was AWESOME, because I wasn't aware of any other furry hoopers! Unfortunately she doesn't have an FA, so I'll have to communicate through email but that's okay too :) But I have a feeling that we're going to have to have a flow jam at CaliFur!
- Bought awesome stuff, arts, prints etc
- BLOOP!!!
- I picked up my badge made by
mirelmture AND I LOVE IT INFINITELY!!! It's so so so perfect, I think when I eventually get a partial of Jewell, that headshot will be the reference I use for it. Her face is just so adorable!
- Pedobear Love Loli, and he visited our Lolita panel! Which was seriously awesome. :)
- I HAD A BLAST!!! Everything was super fun!
- Getting people druuuuuuunk on Everclear hahaha
Negatives:
- There was some drama in the hotel room we were staying at. We just left whenever it got bad, but it was sad that it happened. Also, next time I want to sleep in a bed, the Mariott does not have comfortable floors LOL
- Convention space? What convention space?
- I wasn't aware that it was only going to be the Mariott, and it was REALLY weird to have so many booths in the hallway. The Dealer's Den could have been a little roomier.
- Elevators.
- The Volleyball thing... I would have preferred the privacy of being the only event in the convention space.
- No central meeting space. I kind of felt like I was in the way whenever I was trying to meet/greet people, because it was like in the lobby area.
- The panel rooms were tiny. The projector I was given for my panel was 3 feet by 4 feet. We moved the projector to point it on the wall, and then it was finally a decent size of image.
- Wow the technical side! Even I could tell when the speakers/PA/music sounded like shit, and I GO TO UNDERGROUND WAREHOUSE RAVES WITH BETTER SOUND AND LIGHTING! As a theater tech crew, and with a boyfriend who is a sound/lighting engineer and owns his own production company, I was less than impressed. As my boyfriend said, it wasn't the quality of the actual speakers or lights, it was the way they were being used. Meaning that it wouldn't have COST the convention anything to improve the quality, other than hiring people who actually knew how to use the system that was already installed.
- I'm sorry TopDawg, I love you and I miss you as part of my rave family Scoob, but you could have done so much better....
- Everything was late, and the schedule was changed seemingly constantly.
- When we went into the Headless Lounge, we noticed how long of a walk it was from the Dealer's Den. In a fursuit, that walk would take FOREVER. Also, there were how many fursuiters were there? 418? That tiny tiny room was clearly not enough, barely 20 people fit in it. The headless lounge should have been the size of the second stage. I'm not a fursuiter (yet) but I can see this as being a huge issue.
- Even Sprout was complaining about the panel schedule. It made no sense to have the "New Fursuit Handler" and "First Time Fursuiter" panels to be at the end of the convention. Those had really important info for first timers, and would have been really a lot more useful if they were done on Friday.
I know that some of the stuff sounds nit-picky, but I feel like FC has been running for long enough that these little complaints should not be factors of a big con with experience. These are like "first and second annual" convention mistakes. The whole thing was apparently pretty disorganized, from talking to some of the people working the convention.
Also, I'm pretty objective when I make reviews. :P NONE of the negatives really impacted my AWESOME FUN TIME I had at this convention! Which is pretty awesome. I had tons of fun and I would do it all over again!
And HOPEFULLY I'll have a suit made by Califur and I'll be able to hoop in it! HUZZUH!!!!

Cool, glad you had fun! Totally understand the issues with sleeping on the floor, it's not far from sleeping on a wooden plank on the Marriott floors. It's still better than the chair though!

The one in the room I had, I needed to crane my back to try and lay back so I ended up looking like a letter J... And it wasn't very soft.

OP
I saw you once on the party floor but I was really drunk and not fast enough to catch you XD You were bolting down the stairs. I was also kind of incognito because I was in Lolita instead of all raver gear hahaha :3 But other than that one time I never saw you either. And it's not like it was a big conhttps://x.X
