Next, we have a few honourable mentions for stories that may have placed... and others that didn't make it to the top 10 but showed some quality that set them apart from others. As the judge DarkWitt was nice enough to write out critiques, he also wrote down his thoughts about why these stories made it into the honourable mentions.

I will be sure to contact each person individually starting from first place to 10th place tomorrow. :) As each artist is chosen I will remove them from the list and present the current ones that aren’t chosen to the next person down the list.
A couple of judges have kindly taken it upon themselves to write critiques and suggestions with the stories they reviewed. As such, if you are interested in hearing the critique of your story just email me at Zsisroncontestentries[at]gmail.com . Thanks!
So much text. @_@ I hope I didn't mess anything up! D: Oi.
Oh yeah, if you wanna read some of the other judge's thoughts and their top 10, here's one from Dark. http://hypnofurs.com/forums/index.p.....sg4300#msg4300

Honourable Mentions:
Best Subject: Gareth, The Order By Justawerewolf
A subject needs to be more than just a blank slate to be rewritten by. He needs to have desires, a life. He must have something that makes him a living thing we care for. But the subject must also draw down in a wonderful way. To be receptive and accepting, with enough resistance to show us if it’s something we wanted. Gareth find himself slowly sinking into the programming of a secret organization. And yet, when he has fully accepted their gifts, he comes to realize just how much he has lost by the end. In that moment, we sympathize with what he has lost. But we do not feel like he has lost much more than he has gained. And even he starts to feel that. You’ll know what I am talking about when you read this story.
Best Hypnotist: The Nameless Apprentice, Careful Suggestions by Reserved Rodent
A hypnotist is more than just a person that tosses a watch back and forth. He has the foresight to expect a trance gone bad, awareness of his capabilities, but most of all, the ability to think on his feet. There comes a standard when you work in hypnosis long enough. A standard that holds us to resist the power and capabilities one has that could warp us into monsters. But a hypnotist that truly shines is one that can work when he is terrified. When the slightest sign of failure could result in death, or worse; this nameless apprentice works ever so carefully to convince his captors that he is not the enemy. When he is brought to the possibility of simply commanding them to release him, he instead uses his hypnosis to better understand their culture. This is one of the best hypnotists I’ve ever seen in a story. And I would love to see him grow to be a standard the rest of his fellow hypnotists can look up to.
Best Induction : Matthew Barnes, Service By Unstable Bill
Being a hypnotist isn’t easy. Anyone who’s practiced as long as I have can attest to it. There are so many factors, so many distractions and potentially disrupting elements, compounded with a potentially difficult subject ; it can be a nightmare. Barnes not only adapts to a distraction, but uses it to weave an induction to one of his first subjects. While some of his control is left to the reader to give the benefit of the doubt, every induction he performs is skillful, expertly handled, and accurate.
Most entertaining utilization of a subject: Warmth, by Danath
This was one of the earliest entries in the contest, and it still keeps inviting me back for its fantastic breakdown of its subjects. It’s not enough to simply control someone. Hundreds of Masters and hypnotists out there run out of ideas the moment they have a subject right where they want them. It’s easy to just say ‘let’s have sex’ as that’s often the first thing that comes to mind. While Danath has Markus capitalize on that ability. He focuses on using the subjects for a more reasonable purpose: body heat. Given the main hypnotist is a naga in the cold winter, this makes an incredible amount of sense. It’s an fantastic idea. While the two boys who eventually fall for it are slowly reprogrammed to obsess over their body heat, the naga is rewarded with two eager body warmers by the end of the story.
Best enthralled writing: Unrelenting Tide By Hainite
A submissive is only enjoyable if their demeanor matches what you want. Sure the blank zombie is something fun from time to time, but you want More than just that sometimes. Hainite provides a group of sumbissives that are eager, programmed, so unashamed of their obedience that they would do anything just for attention or approval. They’re eager slaves that, once you enter the room, get better at their job. I even love how one character fails to recognize himself in a reflection anymore, being so long gone. If you want to see how a cast of submissives can show you they’re truly enjoying their loss of control, this is the story for you.
Best story under 3,000 words: The Snake Pit, By Amethystine
It’s only 1,300 words. But what it presented was a very fascinating, 2nd person enslavement as part of a nest of feminine nagas. The descriptions and wording of Amethystine is quite memorable. And the final descent into the state is something I imagine submissives would jump at the chance for transformation as well. While it wasn’t quite strong enough to place as the actual transformation is off screen, and doesn’t really go further than just a simple transformation, it’s a lovely blurb to go through.
Best Transformation: Rubber Naga, Trespassers will be….Enthralled, By AnubusKiren
Transformation is a common theme in Hypnosis stories. As a lot of the time, the general arc is a tale of change in the subject’s life. However some transformations can be so alluring, they invite the reader to experience what it might be like. AnubusKiren has a mastery over this. He weaves the new obedient rubber naga into the idea of moving with such a body; to learn to hypnotize and draw in more subjects for their new goddess. If you love transformation and hypnosis, this may be one of your favorites.
Best Narration: The Red Coin, By Bahamutdragons
A fantastic story can crumble if the author is not capable of telling the tale. Some of the best ideas are cast aside because we couldn’t respect the writer long enough to give his/her story a chance. The opposite is said here. In a standard, third person perspective, we are taken to a journey of revenge, understanding, and evolution with hypnosis as an integral MacGuffin to our antihero’s struggle. Every step of the way, Bahamut holds us close to their chests and never lets us go. As a result, we share their fears, their triumphs, their joys, and of course, their understanding. Every scene is carefully constructed this way. There was never a point when I was taken out of the story or stopped caring about the main characters. That's a sign that the author is doing a fantastic job giving us a committed narration.
Best Atmosphere: City gripped by winter, Eyes in the Snow, By Russet
This entire story was such a humble piece. Instead of being forced into a setting, I am instead offered with a kind, welcoming hand by russet, to follow along in this gripping narrative. I am unsure what makes this place glow to me. It may be as simple as a cardboard box gripped by a cold winter. It may be as innocuous as a pair of warm eyes amidst an icy, unforgiving backdrop. But an atmosphere like this can make hypnosis all the more alluring. It can contrast its setting, or blend in and use it to its advantage. Here, we see a masterful hypnotic performance portrayed in the backdrop of a quiet, winter city. Where a monkey performs in the frigid cold for supper and the people feel genuine in their approval and charity. I feel I have BEEN to this place after reading it. And in that moment, when we are invited into Olaniyan’s modest home for the first time, I’ve never pictured a warmer place to be.
Most potential: Persuading Enlightenment, By Lijuaness
When this story came to me, I was not sure how to react. The setting and the hypnotist are actually quite strong and well designed. However it was clear this was the first draft to an incomplete novella. There’s a lot of potential here to become a fantastic epic if the author is willing to put the effort into it. I want to see what Iijuaness comes up with. I might be pleasantly surprised in the future.
Most Accurate hypnosis session: Chain Action by FLW
I can’t really commend this story from a narrative standpoint, as there really is none. However the actual trance that goes about is a wonderful treat. If you find yourself susceptible to wording for trance, it’s three excellently paced inductions for the price of one. I’ve actually tested these with others in sessions, and, over voice. They show lots of promise in some of the hardier subjects. The problem is that the author really needed to put more effort in the actual ‘story’ element of the story. As what is there isn’t very strong.
Best twist: The Psychic Duet, The Assignment By Ross
Twists in stories may not be something you should focus on for the overall arc. But a well handled twist, as we all know from some of the best films, can make everything much more appreciated that there was an added depth to what was going on. In hypnosis, it can make all the difference. This story had a very intriguing political backstory. While the telepaths are discriminated constantly, Akira is given the special assignment of helping sway the most important people with her gift. But when the times comes that she has to finally seal the deal, something happens that she’s not quite prepared for. I dare not spoil the surprise for those of you interested. Give it a read yourself. You won’t regret it.
Best Clean Story: Deeper and Deeper, by The Golden Unicorn
This objective, Essay Like observation of hypnosis is a fresh breath of air. Treating the process of sinking under more like a science than the fantasy we’ve all become accustomed to. While I didn’t quite agree with the sudden strange twists down the line, the trance, induction, and mature use of hypnosis helped me understand the medium a bit more. It also allows the reader to get a perspective of how the hypnotist handles such a situation, as we rarely get to see his thought process during a trance.
Best Fan Fiction: Just a Part of the Training, by Reian
I felt this was a fantastic twist to jedi force control. While it wasn’t too strong in the aspect of grounding it in the universe that’s established, I was pleasantly surprised to see an inward exploration of the self. The author used this to understand the division between the light side and dark side of the subject. I commend the author for trying something new, and turning my head on something that I was initially going to write off as ‘just another fan fic’
Most horrific: Zeke, By Leelux
This may not have been the strongest story we’ve read. But it’s certainly one of the most memorable. The story focuses on a collection of test monkeys in a laboratory, whom are subjected to hypnotic and mental reconditioning at its worst. This story is a chilling reminder of just how hypnosis can be a nightmare if used in the wrong hands. Written as if “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” had no sense of levity throughout the entire piece, Zeke can make even the most resolved of hypnosis dominants second guess their nature.
Best Villain: Victor Lovekin, in Reorientation, By Shereth
A Villain might not be a hypnotist, or a subject. They might not have the skill to do hypnosis at all in these stories. But a True Villain can accomplish his goals with only the slightest of efforts, and when he is gone, you see the destruction, or influence that has been caused in his wake. While almost every character in reorientation has villainous traits, Victor is the one that shines through with his small understanding of hypnotic influence to attain the best kind of revenge. This story almost won out for most horrific. And for those whom are squeamish when watching clockwork orange, it may be best to pass this story. Otherwise, read on.
I will be sure to contact each person individually starting from first place to 10th place tomorrow. :) As each artist is chosen I will remove them from the list and present the current ones that aren’t chosen to the next person down the list.
Artists:
DoDeDo:
Example: (NSFW) http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5567263/
Doe will be providing two pieces for the contest. Choices from her include a ‘professional’ piece and a ‘budget’ piece. The professional piece will be one-character (coloured) and will include 3-4 different sketches drawn (or additional ones if the initial four prove unsatisfactory… to a point) and a great amount of control over the content. Budget will allow for two characters, but will only include one preliminary sketch with a major revision if needed.
Spelunker Salvador:
Example links: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/413577
Salvador will be drawing either a two-character digital ink piece or a 1 character full digital colour piece depending on the winner’s choice.
Twinkle-sez (Change!)  -> 100USD
Example: http://www.sfw.furaffinity.net/view/5808539/
Unfortunately, due to a certain problem arising with Alertpay I am unable to pay Twinkle-sez for the piece. But, if one is interested in this choice I will send the amount that was meant for the commission (100USD) and the person may either use that for commissioning him, commissioning others, or otherwise spending it on other things.
Tokifuji – Comic Piece
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5131140/
Tokifuji will be providing a one-page inked comic for up to 3 characters.
Nokemy:
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5257902/
Nokemy will be doing a two character coloured piece.
Headvoices

A fully coloured two-character piece with background.
Immelmann
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7186165 (NSFW)

and finally...
Sarovak
Example: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4948269/ (NSFW)
SArovak will be doing choosing the person he draws for, but will be providing either a coloured piece or a comic. (Could potentially be streamed but that is up to him and the person chosen.) He can still potentially be chosen by one of the winners though it will hafta be worked out between him and the interested party.

 FA+

Also Good luck to everyone for next year~ in the mean while i will be workign on the rules and guidelines! = !=
Congrats everyone! Even for those who didn't win, there are a number of stories I thought were awesome, and really appreciate being able to read!
Played the Chibi game; pretty neat. I make quite a bit of Flash stuff myself, so I know the pain of needing a second set of hands... I've been chipping away at a game for months, but still seems like many more to go; wish I wasn't such a slow artist. Gameplay also factored in much more than I expected: it's easier to make something highly complex than something addictive and fun.
I'm kinda curious as to what the judges thought about my story, but I'm half-afraid to ask, considering it didn't do so well. ;) Still, I'm a big boy; if any judges are reading this and want to share their thoughts about my story, please note me. Feedback is always appreciated.
There are 10 winners but 9 artists? o-o
And what happens if someone gets stuck with Twinkle and doesn't have 100 dollars to spare? Are they SOL?
And Doe's doing two pieces.
Also, this 'DW' person did a very nice set of little write-ups/blurbs about the honourable mentions.
Oh, and woo! Honourable mention for me! :}===< I kinda just threw The Snake Pit into the contest when I realized I had coincidentally created hypno-ish content concurrently to the contest.
Anyway, the first three contestants have chosen their prizes: The Twinkle-sez piece/100USD,
I went back again...it really is a great read. Everything else (pacing, characterization, descriptions) was top-shelf, but your treatment of the subtheme really pushed it over the edge. AND THUS SEALED YOUR DOOM.
All of these stories were very well written and deserve accolades for the authors! If anyone hasn't read them yet, I highly recommend it!
Super nicely done to everyone who's written a story ^^
Strangely I liked hypnosis, I am really not into many fetishes, but this one... I dunno, kinda pleased me :O I think i am going crazy!!!
Man, there's a lot of entries to enjoy reading there...I wonder if I'll get through them all?
I am quite happy with my honorable mention ^^; Considering that SWTOR was totally my inspiration, I'm cool.
I will have to ask for the critiques though
About a week before the contest results were released I started looking at the other stories...lol that was a mistake, made me NERVOUS. :p There were a lot of amazing submissions in here! I was surprised to see
This contest was a whole lot of fun. I, too, really enjoyed DW's commentary. As a writer, that kind of response is absolutely golden. Third is great, but I want to know how to hit FIRST. :3 I also got tips on the things that set readers off, for potential sequels/spinoffs. (If you're reading this DW, I DID originally script in the "public personas" thing, but didn't think the readers would find it interesting. Now I'm considering that as the backbone of an entire spinoff)
Sooooooooooo this was awesome.
Also, for the record, while the required-species list originally frustrated me, it forced me to use character types I haven't previously touched (buck, bull, boar, and this was only my 2nd time on a bat). In my opinion, that turned out to be one of the better aspects of the story. I usually tend to opt for aggressive canine-types and other carnivores, but because the list was mostly herbivores I ended up with, for instance, the sweet deer country boy, who gets mentioned in virtually every feedback session I receive. I tend to pick characters a little more like myself and this was an interesting change.
Anyway, it was a challenge, and all good writers love challenges. :3 So thanks for the opportunity! :D
ALSO THANKS FOR THE COMMISSION PRIZE.
:escafanatic421:'s story was good, yeah, shame he didn't place.
Escafanatic's piece was indeed quite solid and very worthy of placing. In fact, it was fairly high on our lists during initial review. Though as other stories began to crop up as contenders, we had to gauge the pros and cons of the stories. In the end, "Changing Colors" did not make the final cut. Trust me when I say that 10th place was as difficult to peg as first. forced to differentiate which story was 'better' can be rather disheartening. Granted, each story has their fair share of issues, but nothing that makes them unworthy of reading. Changing colors is definitively worth an 11th place if there was one. as well as Reorientation and a few others. If you or others wish to see more for what to do to improve your stories, please, send me a note and I will relay my advice. Perhaps you may find it enlightening.
Congratulations to the contestants who entered and won, thank you to Zsisron for making this contest come true yet again, and if any judges are reading this, I hope that my story was a decent enough read.
I also want to mention that I'm very surprised (in a good way) at how structured this whole contest was. The fact that you enlisted help of judges who gave some excellent feedback makes this contest really stand out from the rest. I'm also pleased to see that there's discussion of even further developing contest guidelines which promises the possibility of a third one in the future.
Once again thank you for putting this all together and glad to see there was such a large turnout.
Admit I'm not very good at critiquing stories (Still have nightmares from having to give good reviews of fellow classmate's stories back in high school and college English cllasses. XD)
Next contest I'll be putting a word minimum and maximum. And may add or remove a couple of species. I find that limiting them helps get some unique stuff around. <3
I definitely imagine that the word count maximum could help things out since the largest delay of everything seemed to be that 117 pager.
