Firstly, if you had not yet had the opportunity to review today's mission report (I.e., watch today's episode) then do not read, I repeat, DO NOT READ ON. Can I be any clearer? *Coughs*
My fellow bronies... Today... Today marks one of the greatest moment in brony history. If you have seen the latest mission report you will no doubt be aware of what I am talking about. Our army, our community if you will, may very well have caused an unprecedented event in animation history. If not that, then we have accomplished something exceedingly rare. One single brony, so many, many months ago, noticed a character in the very first mission report at the very beginning of our efforts. A character who, after being pointed out, was readily embraced by the community. A character who was then embraced just as much by our benefactors, the very people who sustain us with the sustenance we need to keep our efforts going.
And today... today we saw that very same character come to full bloom, in all her glory, in the middle of this weeks mission. She was holding nothing back. No more covert ops, no more stealth... No, full on in your face I-am-here-to-stay glorious combat. We did this. We, as a community, caused this to happen. Whether you have been with us from the very first mission or only joined us 5 minutes ago, be proud. Today may have been a unique never-before-seen event, or something that has almost never been seen before. Regardless, we made it happen. Princess Celestia herself is here to bestow each and everyone of you with the highest honour in our community, the Friendship Medal. So, line up, and take a moment to realize how special this is, how rare if not unique, and how awesome its is that we, as a community, are not only part of it, but the cause of it.
And also be sure to spend some thought on how much we owe to our benefactors, The Hub and Hasbro. How they keep providing for us in unique and awesome ways. How they keep letting us know that we, as a community, are appreciated. Today was without a doubt the best thing they have ever done for us, other then giving us what keeps us together in the first place. And personally, I feel that today also marks the best non-charity related thing our community has ever achieved.
I love this community, I love everyone who partakes in it from the creators to the fans and I hope that we may continue our efforts for a long time to come. As things are, this looks very promising indeed. My fellow bronies, today we saw history being made. *Salutes*

I am glad I could do my duty
So the scene in "Last Roundup" where Derpy is named and gets a bit of dialog is just the most "shout-out" to us fans from the producers of the show. Lauren Faust and Jayson Thiessen are on record saying Derpy belongs to the fans. So we can safely assume that anything involving the Derped One is pretty much their gift to us "bronies."

Bro
HOOF*
I could not have been more delightfully surprised.
Bro hoofs all around. /)(\
HAHA Derpy is EPIC.
In other words: Awesome.
But other than that:
OMG IT WAS DERPY!!! sdfbnsdfjhladngf :DDDDDD My only concerns are, what will the cause among the mainstream? Even though there are alot of bronies, the key demographic is young girls. And young girls watch it. Will their parents get mad about a "slow" pony, or embrace it as well?
From background, to given a name, to now a voice.
Huzzah!
The only thing I can recall like it was during the Tiny Toons / Animaniacs era. Three girls wrote a Tiny Toons fan story and it mistakenly made its way to Steven Spielberg's office and got made into an episode (poettigress here on FA was one of the trio). There was the Please Please Please Get a Life Foundation on Animaniacs, which was somewhat more derogatory to the fans. And they sent the Animaniacs voice cast out to sign cels at the WB stores, which was excellent for sales and great for the fans too.
I went to Animania IV and got to be one of the lucky few fans to get a sneak peek at PPPGALF, presented by the writers themselves! They were a bit nervous about showing it to us, since it was pretty much directly making fun of us, and they said, "Please don't take it the wrong way, it's all just in fun," but they needn't have worried. We laughed uproariously at it! Probably the best possible reception the cartoon could ever get. :}
And then Jay Maynard (a.k.a. Tron Guy nowadays) immediately found an error in it! (Specifically that the nerd says that Brain wrote "BH 90201" on the blackboard which should really be "90210". But Brain actually wrote "BH 91210".)
That it was also a very good episode on its own is practically an afterthought here.
Next stop: DJ-P0N3
With the exception of Derpy which (as I'm about to mention above) is basically a valentine to the fans from the producers of this show.
with a quiet voice: " thank you Derpy. " screaming: " YAY!!! "
Now we just need to see a slightly drunk Berry Punch, but that will never happen lol
Now I wanna watch it myself, brb <3
