I like my roommate's attitude that there is no one greatest James Bond actor.
That, rather, each exemplifies a different facet of the same mythological man:
Sean Connery = the Tough Bond
George Lazenby = the Friendly Bond
David Niven = The Aristocratic Bond
Roger Moore = The Flirtatious Bond
Timothy Dalton = The Angry Bond
Pierce Brosnan = The Suave Bond
Daniel Craig = The Suffering Bond
Special mention: Barry Nelson = wait, that guy was Bond?
