On love and the confusion that often follows

So.
Before I start this, I'd like to say sorry that I didn't tell you straight up in printmaking today (you know who you are.) I didn't know how to go about telling you this because it's a bit of a difficult subject for me to digest, so I figured that a journal would be much more open and you wouldn't be able to slap me if I told you.
Let me start off with this.
So. You know that whole thing between me and Jack? Well. hmm. Okay so, I've already established that he was a douchebag. But, there's been a weird tension I guess you could say. To sum it up, he asked me on a date and I accepted. However, I made it known that it was just a date. Because there's no way in hell that I'm going to be exclusive and committed again because I honestly don't know him that well. Plus, who the fuck would turn down free sushi?
Anyway,
I was in history today...
And Rex (you know, the foreign exchange kid who hosted the god awful party we went to?) told me to put out my hand so he could write on it. So I did. Keep in mind we've started to get closer as friends. He even started bugging me about texting him. And he's usually trying to get my attention. At one point, he kept asking me if we were friends (we were joking around and told him we were never friends) and he always questioned me when I said I would hit him and I never did (because he's always doing something like playing around with my ponytail or something stupid like that.)
So anyway he wrote some Chinese characters on my knuckles. 3 characters (I'm sure you can see where this is going). I messed around with him and asked him if he wrote "thug life" on them. He said no. So I guessed a few more goofy phrases, all of which were wrong. And when I asked him what it was, he just got silent.
Later, on the bus, I asked Evelynn what it said (because she's from Taiwan like Rex). She told me it said "I love you". After asking her about it, she said that it was pretty serious. Unlike Americans who use I love you casually, I love you in Taiwan is very special.
It's kind of interesting too. One of my friends was telling me that she thinks Rex likes me because of they way he was acting. You know, stupid high school shit?
And the biggest problem with all of this?
Rex moved in with another host family after the new year. And tonight, Rex is sleeping over at Jack's house because they miss eachother and all that because they practically became brothers. After one incident that Rex went through with his crazy ex, they even called themselves brothers because Jack stepped up and said "You fucked with the wrong family" and "You mess with my brother and you're messing with me" or something along the lines of that.
Anyway, I don't think either one is aware of the other's situation. And if you need a recap on what that situation is, Rex just told me he loved me and Jack asked me on a sushi date. And tonight, these "brothers" are spending the night.
STUPID HIGH SCHOOL SHIT
I JUST CAN'T
I DON'T
I didn't know things like this happen in real life okay.
