I'll miss you Papa.....
On January 31, 2012, at 3:00pm, my father passed away due to his second stroke. It started in the beginning while suffering from Parkinson's disease and Dementia of October 2011 but at the beginning of December he was slowly recuperating and was talking again. But on January 27, he stopped breathing. They got his heart pumping but the prognosis wasn't good. Today my brother announced that he's officially brain-dead.
So, by now you all know what I'm going through and it's not easy for me. The only three good things I remember about my dad was music, cars and places that we went that I never heard of. And never will cause he's the only one that remembers where any of those places is. I remember the time he use to say something funny, like ' cha chee car '. Meaning a car that is small. Or " Ahhhh, this is so...Mickey Mouse! " Meaning again something that is small. Also, he used to sang to my younger sister when she was a baby, saying,' Cholo Cochino', in which in HIS term meaning 'dirty girl' in Spanish. ( For some of you who think that not the term, I understand, I looked it up. It's that he just want to make it sound rhythimic. )
But there are times that when he gets a bit too bossy, stubborn or verbally abusive in Spanish toward my mom, sister, brother and me. Few times he whip us siblings but only for discipline, not that he feels like it. Yeah, I somehow was usually the brat in the family but I have mental reasons that not only my family but to other people that I cope with don't understand. But one thing for sure about my dad is that he was brave, smart and never afraid of anything that is impossible. Oh yeah, I forgot that there was one statement on what he said that will always be etched on my mind.
........." Impossible?! Nothing is impossible! "
Thanks Dad. I will always never forget you.
( Oh and drawing concept cars is the only thing that reminds me of my dad cause he worked as a body mechanic all his life. And the work that he loves. )
