I had to get my upper canine teeth removed. A week before I went to a halloween party dressed as dracula.

I had all my wisdom teeth removed a long time ago (about 10-11 years now?) in one operation when I was 17. I thank the lord every time I think back on it that they gave me a shot first to get me asleep/unconscious for the duration of the operation, because when the moment I woke up afterwards, I had some small, thin spagetti-like tube sttiches over the lower jaw area where the teeth were removed, along with numbness on my lips and cheeks and lots of cotton and gauze stuffed inside my cheeks to absorb the blood. It wasn't exactly the greatest time that I had gone through, but after a day had passed, I was going about my daily life just fine again. Hope the operation goes well and that it'll be fairly painless to you as well (or, at the very least, not too painful).

Sounds interesting, this series of martial-arts and traditional garb related drawings you have in mind to do! :) I'd say to go with Lucha Libre as a suggestion, I'm curious as to what the pics of that discipline could look like in your art style.

Lucha Libre seemed like a fun choice, to me it's familiar like WWE pro wrestling, but also has the exotic flair because of the masked fighters. Especially the part some matches require the loser to remove his mask permanently.

I'll probably be basing lineart heavily on the art from SF IV, the rough ink-splashed sumi-e art works to nicely there!

Oof, roof canal and wisdom teeth? Ouch.

I've already had one root canal last year, which hadn't hurt at all aside from one moment where the dentist pushed the file a little too deep.
The only downside is, I need to have the canal performed on the last molar. If I were 10 years younger, they would've considered pulling the broken tooth and hope the wisdom tooth would replace that one naturally. But... no such luck there.

It doesn't hurt that badly through it all. You'll be fine, man :)

Wisdom teeth or root canal? I know the root canal didn't hurt nearly as bad as everyone made it seem when I had my first one last year, but for wisdom teeth I keep getting mixed messages. "Get local anaesthesia, it'll be easy and painless anyway." "Go for general anaesthesia, because the doc will yank you out of your chair and go crazy in there". Also "you'll look like a hamster and suffer intolerable pains.", "your sister wasn't bothered by it at all". I don't know, we'll see how it goes I guess. :/
