I wonder sometimes what goes through these peoples minds
you get stuff like the 3DS and the Wii U which are a new generation of consoles
but because of their names people are just convinced it's just a ds with a 3d screen
and a wii with a stupid controller, when they're a new generation of console, like the xbox compared to the xbox360
now I'm playing Gotham City Impostors, which is an awesome game, it's so much goddamn fun
but the way their DLC got launched out on the xbox live market...hhooolllyyyyy fuck!
nobody seems to realise that the DLC is entirely pointless, and not in the sense "if you don't want to you don't have to"
they made every single piece of customization in the entire game either obtainable in game or paid for
win a match you earn 40-60 costume coins, which is enough to pay for a pair of gloves that costs what was it, $1?
so they have hundreds of pieces of clothing in the game and the way the DLC works on xbox live is that it lists each piece as an entirely new piece of DLC
all of it is entirely pointless
who would actually pay for them?
someone who actually purchased the game but doesn't want to play it at all? because it only takes a single match to get that piece of clothing!
so basically you end up with people who see the game and then the hundreds and hundreds of pieces of DLC for $1-$5
of course nobodies going to fucking buy your fucking game.

I played the beta and do kinda want the game, but not till I know it's popular [and so not a ghost town game] and probably not till it drops to 800 [have to wait and see.... not like I'll run out of games to play through ANY time soon, not with over 130 games and less than 40 fully completed.]

it's in no way a AAA game but it's fun.
And yeah, when I saw the video, it wasn't immediately clear that the purchase-able stuff could be unlocked by earning coins and spending those coins to get the customize and weapons items.
I'm eager to see his full review because not only are his videos hilarious, but also informative.
Some people are in a hurry, and would rather spend money to get the extra items, than to take the time to play the number of necessary matches to get them in-game.
It still gets a ton of customers because there's the showoff factor, a new boom box item came out the other day that's cosmetic and does nothing gameplay wise, but makes it so when you taunt it plays a little 80s hip-hop sounding tune. Plenty of people are buying it for $10, even I'm tempted!
Items paid for with money give immediate gratification compared to waiting a month to trade or craft for something with all the free drops you get, costing time.
It's honestly a lot better in my opinion to be able to get these silly things without spending real money than other games where DLC can only be obtained through money and players who aren't putting in that extra cash are at a tremendous disadvantage over those who do.
Although if they're really that cheap then yeah it's pretty silly.
Im just surprised that they would sell something that takes 2, maybe 3 matches top to earn
6 minutes a round if nobody wins before that
So that's buying something that would take 10 maybe 15 minutes to earn
I've been playing for 2 days now and have unlocked everything I want and have dozens of unlocks leftnothing to do with them
It's almost like "Ok, if you are really that stupid, you deserve to have the money taken from you".
At least with like.. Little Big Planet the costumes are unobtainable and the level packs have shit-tons of content not in the original game. If you got DLC, at least promise me it's new.
Standards, man, standards. That's just.. insulting.
