Mass Effect 3 - some thoughts
I just finished the game, so naturally I have to rant a bit. May be some minor spoilerish stuff below.
Starting with the gameplay - it feels pretty much like ME2, but the combat is more fluid and fun. It also seems difficulty was kicked up a notch, but nothing really spectacular.
Personally, I didn't like the Reaper chases in galaxy exploration, but in my opinion it's just a minor annoyance.
Most sidequests were pretty forgettable - usually just planet scanning and if not, then ''hold you position and shoot everything that moves'' type. Still, as I said, combat is generally fun, so no biggie.
Graphics are also similar to ME2, but altogether flashier and more polished (although they tried, and failed, to use some cheap tricks in some places, but again, nothing too bad).
Enviroments are also given much more detail and scripted events, so they feel less linear than in ME1 and 2.
Writing and character interaction is, I'd say, the most important part of the game, and it is usually on par with the rest of the series, although it seems like they tried to force nostalgia with some lines and events. I also thought that many of the new characters with ''larger'' roles, such as Cortez or Diana Allers were either ''meh'' or incredibly annoying. Still, talking with NPCs known from previous games was really satisfying.
The only part of the game I actually hated was the ending. Now, I heard the talking about how bad it was, but decided to hold my judgement until I see it, and yeah... It's not even the fact that it comes out of nowhere and is pretty damn stupid in itself, it's how terribly it is realized and provides no closure at all. It's like Bioware just decided they were bored with the setting and decided to ruin it by pulling of an End of Evangelion. It would have made just as much sense if Shepard just woke up from a drunker stupour under some bridge and decided that the whole plot was a dream. What were they thinking?
TLDR - If you liked the first two entries to the series, you'll like this one too, but be prepared for a very, very disappointing conclusion.
These are all my personal opinions, so no reason to get hissy if you disagree. I'd still like to hear what y'all think about the game!

still dissappointing though. I'm looking forward to the ending and at the same time, well, not.
And by that logic, you would expect the final ending of a game series rooted strongly in this idea to provide closure and satisfaction by elaborating on the consequences your actions had, showing how your decisions changed the characters lives in the story, what happens to them, and to earth which you have been so focused on fighting for the entire game. There was none of that, the final cutscene was very short too, shorter than cutscenes throughout the rest of the game.
I felt pretty let down.
To only bad thing about this whole thing as far as I know not much secret info were included about the reapers origin or what is their really purpose
or maybe I got it wrong
Are you man enough to press red? Or perhaps green...? Or the dreaded, "BLUE."
Respectfully yours,
- Reaper Baby
But I can be a drell in multiplayer so it's all okay by me.
