Oy vey, what a week...

I have discovered that Murphy (aka Murphy's Law) likes to strike when it is stunningly inconvenient. Take this week for example...
Monday we had our first Tai Chi class. Tuesday we met my dad in Sacramento for the Straight No Chaser concert. Thursday we went to spend the night at my folks' place. Today was a busy day getting a haircut and doing sundry other errands. Tomorrow I'm helping a friend with a party.
And in the middle of all of this?... catastrophic car failure. :(
Luckily, it turned out to be not as bad as we thought. We overfilled the oil and started blowing black smoke, in addition to gumming up the works a bit. The car is ready to be picked up tomorrow, but the repair work ate up our entire tax return. :/ Also luckily, my dad offered to loan us his truck for the duration, so we haven't been vehicle-less. We return that on Sunday.
So yeah. That was/has been my week. I didn't get ANY writing done for my website, unfortunately. Nor did I get many chores done. Stress levels were VERY high and I will probably need a bit more time to come down from the whole thing.
In the meantime, let me recommend The Way We Fall by Megan Crewes. It is a young adult novel about a viral outbreak in a small island community off the coast of Canada. Very well written.
And now, off to bed.
