And While I'm Complaining #3

So like, what's the deal with a universal healthcare program in the United States? Everyone (as in the opposition of President Obama's every idea) claims it is the most Socialist piece of freedom rape since the reverse apple pie. Never mind that politicians are trying to pass laws so that if a woman wants to have an abortion she must first be vaginally penetrated by a trans-vaginal probe, against her wishes (and the doctor's wishes), regardless of her reasoning, but now we have to stop big government from providing health care for its citizens. Meanwhile, small government gets to rape, rape victims with a cold, well lubed probe thingy that is medically unnecessary.
Why the fuck are people so stupid? Why is health care such a dirty word? The thing that pisses me off the most is that the opposition, generally anyone who was born for the sole purpose of disagreeing with the black president, and the Republicans are so against it for no real reason. They -used- to want nearly the same thing that the president wants now, but since both parties can't agree on anything, uhhh....I changed my mind, now I think health care is socialism and is worse than The Jersey Shore.
And while I'm complaining, why does an unarmed black teenager get murdered via gun by a guy who was following him, which was directly against the wishes of the police he called, not get arrested at the very least? I know Florida has that bullshit "Stand your ground" or whatever law, but this guy did not follow it. And yeah, I said the second half would usually be saved for video games and cartoons and stuff, but I'm just too flabbergasted right now. I figured after a -month- of this 17 year old getting shot that someone would do something, instead of blame it on the fact that he was wearing a hoodie. Because people aren't racially profiling anymore, if anything the shooter just didn't like Skittles.

Looks delicious, eh?
Oh my god, congress is run by a bunch of 10 year olds. Next thing we know, bedtimes are going to be abolished.
Universal health care would be nice, as long as the standard of care is high. I don't want to have to compromise the level of care I receive privately because the government makes a mandatory global health care plan, especially when I actually DO need it.
By the way, one of the most vocal opposers of the "Mandate"? She recently filed for bankruptcy with thousands of dollars in unpaid medical bills...:p
Of course you can also argue you need money to buy food, but there are other ways to get food by means of dumpster or scraping roadkill off the road. Or getting a bow and arrow and doing things like our ancestors did. PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals) probably wouldn't like that one or maybe they would I don't know.
Now the problem with health care in our society is that it's expensive for reasons. Medical training is expensive, a lot of students are way far in the hole when they get out of school. Medical practitioners need to buy expensive Insurance to protect themselves from being sued. We live in a sue happy society in which if you walk into a glass wall or spill hot coffee on yourself you can sue someone. Second quality of care would be low if the if there was no high pay then it would not attract the best minds, second they would never get out of the hole for all the money they had to shell out to get that MD.
Personally I never pay deep attention to politics, I dislike all politicians equally. They are all vote whores and finger pointers in my book... so I never really support either side 100%, sometimes I'll agree with one side about something other times I'll agree with the other. I always have a hard time choosing only because I need to out weigh the good and the bad.
Don't get me started on taxes either, I shell out 1/3 of all my earnings to government so their employees can take multiple coffee breaks or fuck with me by pulling me over to ask me how fast I was going (No they have not pulled me over yet, but it'll happen eventually).
As for race... there is only one thing that matters to me and that is if the person treats me like how I would like to be treated. I have the right to treat anyone like shit who treats me like shit. As far as I'm concerned we all bleed red.
I'm sorry all this shit is upsetting you, just close your eyes and think happy thoughts. *Hugs*
And right now, the top marginal tax rate for the federal gov't is 35%, and in order to give a third of your cash to the gov't you'd have to make a couple million dollars a year in income (this does not count capital gains and the like, which is actually a lower rate). This doesn't include state taxes, which will increase this figure, or tax breaks/reductions, which will of course decrease it. You pay very little if you're making around 30k a year, assuming you're doing your returns correctly.
As for the shooting, that's just a local political mess that's gotten too far out of hand. Too many racial stereotypes still exist in the world today and since people on both sides insists on reinforcing them we're stuck reaping the benefits. We're reaping stupid laws and wasted lives.
Besides, why live with a billion dollars when having one and a half means I can afford the surgery to literally jizz gold?
That's my thoughts based on my experiences. Take what you want from it.
Also, our country is supposedly in debt that exceeds 4 trillion dollars to china and we want to impliment a multi billion dollar health care program. Procedures, hospitalizations, and surgeries can cost 10s of thousands of dollars, which is why its really hard to get some treatments under military medical because the Government has to make sure that the treatment is needed and will be worth the cost. I have two bum knees and a chronic cough that I STILL don't know what the issue is because they wouldn't give me an MRI for my knees or an allergy test for my cough. This is the issue people will run into on a large scale with free healthcare. Lots of delays, lots of waiting lists, and choppy prescription writing. It's what happens in other countries with free health care too. I'm not basing everything I say off of military health care, but I know what I've seen in it and I know the same thing will happen because health care if very costly. You're going to see people getting denied treatments because it's too costly. Now, if Obama wants to make changes to current health insurance and state run health care plans then I'm all for it, but I do not agree with the Government taking full control. The country and it's citizens can't afford it.
Back to the debt issue; I'm sure you're not aware that because of the debt they are making massive cuts to the military. First, they are downsizing each branch by at least 20% (that I'm aware of at least), they are talking about making severe cuts to retirement benefits and pay, and they are planning on increases the military provided health care (Tri-care) rates by 2-400% in the next five years. Supposedly, they are doing things like that for the countries debt and to encourage retired or medically retired military to opt out of Tri-care and use Obamacare. You're right, we do get the short end of the stick. You know who's not going to be touched by all these changes though. Congress and other Federal employees. Yeah, FUCK Obama and his socialist plans.
Whenever I think about the debt, I think about the massive tax breaks, that have been pretty much signed into law by now, put in action by a bunch of rich people. The corporate class is taking advantage of the rest of the nation, this is a fact. They make massive amounts of money, but demand to get special privilege because they are the "job creators" never mind the fact that outsourcing has been a popular trend in contemporary history. Corporations are not people, and the people who said that aren't people either, they are puppets who have been seduced with great ease by money, power, and lobbyists. Then again, the debt was snowballed in the beginning by wars that began with preemptive strikes, thanks tot he Bush Doctrine, and as we all know war is very expensive. We are expected to cut public funding so we have no roads, cut schools so that we're stupid, but at the same time make people get vaginal probes and we decide who gets to marry and who doesn't, why is Viagra subsidized but contraceptives for women are being contested? There are lots of problems going on at the moment, but I think it is rather prevalent that we do something about the corporate power that is being abused, and people don't seem to understand. The whole 1% thing is not just being cute, we -are- being manipulated by a few billionaires who own the media and for a lot of people can dictate what is heard and seen. That is why we have people in the Tea Party, who want to "take back" America, because they're tired of seeing the middle and working class of America suffer.
Wake up people, Ronald Reagan's presidency began the murder of the middle and working class, and Romney wants to finish it off by "broadening" the tax base.
Yes, the 'Bush' wars did put a huge burden on our debt, but Obama and the Democrats are now spending far more than what those wars have cost. Stop trying to blame just one party when they are equally at fault. Reagan started the trend of trickle-down economics, but Clinton was the one to open up outsourcing by removing the taxes a company had to pay in order to outsource.
The reason the Republicans never passed a healthcare law of their own when they were in charge, was because many Republicans realized it is socialism to have the Federal Government in control of healthcare, and were against it. They were not all for it when Bush was in charge, or it would have happened back then. The idea that they're only against it now because a Democrat is now in charge, is pure fantasy.
Large corporations are sitting on huge sums of money, and they openly admit it. The problem is, successful corporations work off of long-range plans. We're talking calculating budgets out 10 to 20 years. But the current congress has failed to provide them with any long-range tax plans to work against. Everything Obama has been doing has been 6-month extensions or 1-year plans, leaving companies with no idea as to how to plan beyond that, because they don't know what tax rates or expenses they're going to be required to pay. So, they sit on the money and wait for some manner of stability to be put into place.
Tax laws used to be put into place, and that was it. It didn't use to be 1-year plans that would then be looked at again in the future. They were permanent tax increases or cuts. The new tactics are all political and anti-business by causing instability in planning for the future. Give corporations a tax rate that will remain in place for the next decade, and these corporations will start to reinvest and hire once again. They have come out and said this. They have begged Congress for some manner of stability. But they are not receiving it. Charge them more, or charge them less... nobody cares. They just want consistency that they can base their corporate plans on.
And never forget, every business has one plan in mind. To make money for the stock holders, and continue to grow. They can't do that with the confusion and uncertainties that Obama is giving them.
As for the corporations, they are the last people who should be bitching and moaning. They claim they are the job creators when outsourcing and downsizing is the fastest and easiest way for them to make money, and then they get up in arms when anyone tries to say they should be taxed for sending jobs out of our country. On that same token, they claim that they're going to be more than happy paying whatever the law says they have to in taxes, but in the same breath they hire lobbyists to hang out in Congress to ensure that they -don't- have to pay more taxes. It's kind of disappointing when they could have very well spent the same amount of money, if not more, paying those lobbyists for years and trying to shoe in favor with politicians, instead of actually giving money to the socialist country.
Corporations and lobbyists have been working since the Reagan era to remove laws and stipulations on large businesses, and through their diligence they were able to completely be unethical in terms of: writing up mortgages with fine print and surprise charges for people who they -knew- couldn't afford the payments, bought insurance on said mortgages, and ignored economic experts and others who told them how it would all come crashing down and screw everything up. Above all else, they got away with it while the taxpayers were the victims of such underhanded tactics. Who are we to blame anyway? Tons of people, but I would put Larry Summers on that list somewhere, but because of politicians over the years he is all but untouchable and has built himself into job security. Hell I remember when Obama was campaigning near the end of the race and he said he wanted to hold the Wall Street chumps accountable when he got into office. Unfortunately, he too hired Larry Summers, one of the pioneers behind less regulation and more 'freedom' in terms of our economic fun times. That was an unwise move by the President, in my opinion, but it seems kinda funny how this guy has been around for so long and benefits from nearly every recent president, to my knowledge.
So yeah, businesses do want to make money, but now they're so entitled they feel as though they can do whatever they want, get bailed out by tax payer money if and when they screw up, and then do it all over again most likely. The Occupy Movement, as disorganized as it was, erupted because of the sheer disgust people felt when the banks who were bailed out by taxpayer money started giving themselves those 'generous' bonuses they felt they deserved. I wish I could make over a million dollars on a bonus alone and bitch about how I don't have enough money. I just have a hard time being sympathetic to a bunch of manipulative millionaires and billionaires who seem pretty jazzed to ride this country into ruin, so long as they have enough money to actively drown in.
Of course, there were huge differences between Nixon's plan and Obamacare. Most notably, in Nixon's plan, it was regulated that the doctors and patients still be in charge of all the medical decisions, and even the individual States had a say in how it was implemented. With Obama's plan, the Federal Government is in charge of everything and the final say for medical procedures goes to a group of appointed people who are not regulated by Congress in any manner (the term may be stupid, but yes, there really is a 'death panel' in Obamacare). Nixon's plan did not raise taxes or force individuals to buy insurance at penalty of fines or imprisonment. All it did was require employees to make insurance available to their employees, where the employee was still required to pay 25% of the cost. The employee could opt out if they wished. Obamacare raises taxes, will cost an estimated $1.7 trillion dollars, and criminalizes those who do not want insurance.
Lobbying should indeed be abolished, and the tax codes should be changed and simplified to ensure that every tax that is owed is paid for. But the blame is not solely on the corporations. The government is 99% of the problem, not the solution. They are the ones who created the laws. They are the ones who accept bribes and gifts, or simply tons of support for their next election campaign. They are the ones who allow all of these lobbying tactics to continue. All they have to do is say no, the problem is resolved.
I don't approve of the greed we see in corporations, yet I particularly blame the government for their bailouts, where they once again acted without thinking by giving out the money without any stipulations in place as to how it would be used. It is the greed for power by our government officials that is the real problem. They have the ability to put a stop to things, but their own lack of morals won't let them do it. They don't want the lobbying to stop. The problem with the 1%'s is that they have their heads up the wrong asses. Picketing a business will never change things. Even if you drive that business under, another will pop up to take its place. Change must start at the top, and that's with the Government. As long as a business has an option open to make a greater profit for themselves, they will take it. It's human nature to do so. The only chance for change is to shut down those options, and that starts with the Government. Do you really think a Senator sitting in his office in Washington cares about 75 people sitting in a park in NYC or LA?
You want to see real change and progress. Stop re-electing the same people over and over again. Put in term limits for congressmen. Lower their pay and eliminate their benefits, and require them to work real jobs again. Reduce the number of aides and secretaries they have, and make them actually do some real work for themselves. Make sure they read every word of every page of every bill before they vote on it. The corruption starts at the top, and that's the government. The founding fathers warned of exactly the path we're going down, but people have become either too lazy, too ignorant, or too dependent on the government to do anything about it.
I wholeheartedly disagree with this bill, and I really take offense at the assumption it is because I do not like having a black president. How about the people so in favor of this bill read and learn the U.S. Constitution and take responsibility for their own lives, rather than cry for the government to do everything for them? For note, the people who don't like Obamacare, also don't like Romneycare. The problem is, Romneycare is a state-run program, which the U.S. Constitution does not have authority over. It is up to the people of Massachusetts to decide what they want for themselves, just as the founding fathers of this nation wanted it to be.
It pisses me off that so few people understand what a Republic is (the U.S. is not a Democracy), and the fact that the U.S. Constitution is a document that is meant to restrict the powers of the Federal Government upon the States and the People, not a way for them to control and dictate our lives. Both parties have twisted and distorted the powers of the Federal Government over the past 100 years, and people are finally starting to wake up and take a stand against this.
As for Zimmerman, the DA cannot hold someone for more than 24 hours without formally charging him, so arresting Zimmerman would be pointless at this time. Currently, witnesses are claiming it was self-defense. The DA is still gathering evidence and when their investigation is completed, they will decide what charges should be brought and if an arrest is to be made. Zimmerman is not considered to be a flight risk, so they do not see the need to hold him without charge, until the investigation is complete. Reaction to the results of that investigation and the actions by the DA, should be reserved until they have played out.
For the Zimmerman thing, I'm not wanting him to be arrested right now. More so the fact he was -never- held for any amount of time. He went against the wishes of the police for absolutely no foreseeable reason, and he targeting that kid. I feel he targeted him because he was black, and there had been a string of 'break ins' in the neighborhood, needless to say the sheer fact he wasn't even pulled off the streets after killing someone is absolutely disgusting. Maybe I am trying to make this into a race issue, because I feel like no matter what I do or say in public I will generally will be regarded as a black person instead of a person first. Saying, "Oh he was wearing a hoodie" is just trying to excuse the fact that this unarmed kid was murdered by someone who instigated their confrontation, against the wishes of the law, and he is barely questioned about the fact what so ever. If it was self defense, why shoot an unarmed teenager in the chest? If he owned that gun, I had hoped he knew how to shoot it, and aim, so going for the leg would have more than easily stopped the confrontation. I just see this whole thing as bullshit. If a black man shot a white teenager like this, then you know damn well he would have a much higher chance of being thrown into the back of a cop car and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
By no means do our politicians behave in a mature manner and they really do behave like children in a schoolyard, but the media is what definitely makes things far worse than it actually is. They no longer report the news, but rather make the news. They rile up people to support their desires, rather than just giving us an unbiased set of the actual facts. Most politicians really do want to do what they believe is best for their State and the country, but once they learn how to use the media to their advantage, they no longer look to work things out with the opposition, but instead bypass such attempts in favor of getting mobs to rally behind them, and the current wave of constantly using the 'un-American' or 'racism' cards will pass soon enough when people realize that they're being applied to everything, rather than those matters where they really are a factor.
And it's really not a matter of me being against universal healthcare, as it is being against government run healthcare. There's a big difference there. The problem isn't finding a way to provide care for everyone, but rather the cost of healthcare. There are many reasons for the high cost of healthcare, and it's not the health insurance companies, who only make a 3.3% profit margin. The system needs to be reformed, but that does not mean giving total control of 1/6 of the U.S. economy to the Federal Government.
As for Zimmerman, there's no argument there. Everyone should be treated equally based on the given facts. No two shootings are identical, so I'm not going to say everyone who shoots someone else should be treated the same way, but under similar situations the shooter should be treated the same way no matter their race. I don't know the percentage of Hispanics in Zimmerman's neighborhood, or how Hispanics are generally treated there, but that shouldn't play a factor in how he was dealt with. He did call the police first, and he was a member of the neighborhood watch, but he was also told by the 911 operator to not continue to follow the suspect. Beyond those facts, we really don't know much. At the very least, Zimmerman may be arrested for acting as an armed security guard without a license, which requires specific weapon's training to receive. Since Zimmerman was supposedly working as a Neighborhood Watchman, and in order to do so while carrying a weapon most likely gets classified as a Security Guard position. We'll just have to wait and have to see what happens.
But you are right. No matter how many laws are put into place, racism still exists. Though fortunately, it is much less prevalent than it used to be and is often based on the context of the situation. If you were to stand up in public in support of higher wages for teachers or police officers, the color of your skin would not matter. But if you were to get up in torn, baggy jeans and wearing a hoodie and preach about suppression by the evil corporations, you would probably be seen as a 'black' activist and not just an activist. Yeah, that's a somewhat extreme example, but the point is that there are differences between the races and those differences will always exist. Seeing past these differences will take time, but we are moving in the right direction. My generation is less racist than my parent's generation, and hopefully the next generation will be even less so.
Though I will admit that this current Administration's position on labeling everything that happens as being racist, is having a negative effect on this trend. The overuse of the race card will only instigate more racism, and criminalizing racial thoughts will only spark deeper anger and resentment, and yes... further racism. Fore example, a bully is a bully. Labeling him racist if one of the people he bullies is of a different race is wrong, and when he's punished differently because of this, he will associate that race as being different and become racist toward them. More and more I see situations where people or incidents are being labeled as racist, when it has nothing to do with race. I actually saw someone get called a racist because he thought fat people were ugly. It really has gotten this stupid, where the term is going to become meaningless and true racism is only going to spread further.
Even with my bias though, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when it comes to the mainly focused upon Republicans, as in, the 4 (maybe 3 now) who are representing the Republican party as the GOP candidates who could potentially become the next president. When I see Romney, I see a corporate elite and a liar. The man lies almost every time he is on camera, he flat out misleads people with his information, which is just about anything in regards to our current president. He uses people's lack of information as a weapon, and that is just disgusting. He has no idea what he's talking about in regards to women's health care, and of course I've bitched and moaned about the whole "broadening the tax base" plan of his to give rich people more tax breaks. When I see Santorum, I see a massive gay bashing, misogynist, part time racist, pro-ignorance, full time religious zealot that is just absolutely sickening to me. This man is a psycho, and really it astounds me that he has been able to succeed so much in our nation, in the 21st century. When I see Gingrich, I see a hypocrite and another part time racist, but of course this gigantic ego he seems to have in regards to himself, what with how after his second term as president we'll have a Moonbase and all that. And if he meant that as a joke, then I can slam him for being unfunny. Calling Spanish the language of living in the ghetto, being one of the forerunners to impeach former President Bill Clinton for his blow job fiasco while being "Mr. Family Values" who has divorced two wives, both after they were diagnosed with awful diseases, and they both get extra points because I believe his first wife was his high school teacher and what 'forced' him to divorce his second, sick wife was because she didn't want an open marriage. I'm also confused how he has managed to stay relevant, given how little of a positive impact he has made so far. And finally, Ron Paul, who I can't say has said something openly racist or flat out /wrong/ off the top of my head, but I can say that some of his ideas I agree with, while others are far too extreme. Of course we all know he never had a chance of winning, but he's easily the most sane of the bunch.
Regardless of party affiliation, I don't see how just based on morals alone how anyone could be proud of these people. Romney is staying ahead because money is greater than his endless blandness, but honestly I would want to see Santorum become the candidate, because I want to see his insane, extremist views utterly crushed. I know not all Republicans are like this, far, far from it, but why are these the people chosen to represent them? Perry, Cain, and Bachmann all had the same problems as our current remaining candidates (along with others) yet they were all front runners at some point too. These are the politicians they chose? Honestly? Was everyone just busy/not interested? It feels a bit insulting to be subjected to such outlandish, often hateful and ignorant crap that spews from their mouths. If they aren't bashing each other, they're lying through their teeth, offering more ideas to crush the middle/working classes, have no real ideas, or are so off point that they simply rant away about how gay sex equals to goat sex or how the trees are just the right/wrong height.
As for the race card, yeah I feel it gets overused, but just this weekend young people exclaimed utter dismay that a character who was described in a book as having "dark skin" was played by a black actor. They said it ruined the movie, the character, and they called her, of course, nigger. I remember the Tea Party's infamous sign of "Obama = Slave owner, Tax Payer = Niggar" that was proudly displayed, and one of their former (I think former at least), saying how there were "too many Spics" and wanted to get his gun. Layer that on with our president "not" having a proper birth certificate, somehow being a Muslim (which is now a no no in open minded America), and how he isn't American enough for our great state. I read that as not being white enough. So long as these loud, stupid voices are getting people's attention, I am going to continue believing that racism has barely gone anywhere, and so the race card should be laminated.
Herman Cain was probably the best choice the Republicans had on their ticket. A shame that he had some personal problems, and an even bigger shame that most of what came out about him were outright lies, but the damage was done and he couldn't recover from them. This country needs a leader, not a politician, and his business skills may have been just what's needed to kick this country back in the right direction. As an Independent, I'm not registered to vote in the primaries, so it wouldn't have mattered, but it was a shame that he dropped out before I would have even had the opportunity.
I honestly can't in good conscience, vote for giving Obama a second term, which leaves me no idea as to who I'd vote for now. I never liked Romney from the start, and it looks as if he's going to win the Republican nomination, so the choice is pretty non-existent unless some major person shows up as a 3rd party candidate.
Being a firm believer in following the laws of the Constitution, I had given a lot of attention to the Tea Party when they first showed up, and I do have to say the media pushes out a lot of lies about them. Yes, there was that one sign showing up in a crowd of over 10,000, but what isn't reported is how that person was forced to leave by the other Tea Partiers, because that was not what they were about. They really are being falsely accused of being racists (or terrorists if you listen to that idiot VP we have). Some of the Tea Party rallies had over 100,000 people (as compared to most of the Occupy Movement gatherings having less than 200), so yes, there will be people showing up who will spew out some stupid, racist remark. On top of this, there is at least one proven case where a person positioned himself to be on camera and made derogatory remarks, who was actually a democrat trying to make the Tea Party look bad. Yet the station broadcast his remarks, yet never retracted them after the information of his identity had been revealed. Once again, the liberal media spinning the truth for their own benefit.
The Tea Party has one desire, and that has nothing to do with race. They want the Federal Government to be held to the Constitution of the United States. They did not rise up because Obama won the election. They rose up because his first act was to push Obamacare upon the U.S. Citizens, which they feel is beyond the powers granted by the Constitution. These were not new feelings brought about by the election of a black (well, half-black actually) President. They were already growing when Bush was in office and the whole Homeland Security and privacy intrusion issues started up. However, since these intrusions were not actually happening and people were generally unaffected by them, they remained silent and frustrated. It wasn't until they were told they were not being forced to purchase something they didn't want, that they decided enough was enough.
Unfortunately, the media has no desire to educate people on the facts about the Tea Party, but instead only wish to sensationalize and twist reality in a manner that will benefit their own agendas. Unfortunately for the Tea Party as well, is that they've quickly learned how corrupting politics can be, where a number of the representatives they've gotten elected, have already started voting in ways that are against their positions. Which is probably the main reason they are not as vocal anymore. Even their victories are turning out to be losses.
But again, returning to the race issue, one thing you have to understand is how one-sided the media is about covering this issue. For example, the majority of racial attacks by 'whites' on blacks, are actually done by 'hispanic' gang members. Yet the FBI classifies Hispanic as White in how they keep these records. There are also more racial attacks by black on whites, than by whites on blacks. Where was the President when 'hundreds' of black youths ran through the streets last year, outside the Wisconsin State Fair near Milwaukee, beating and attacking only whites who were exiting the fair? Where were the news trucks and outcry in Nashville, TN when two white friends were car-jacked by 4 blacks who proceed to rape, torture, castrate, execute and burn them?
In this day and age, racism is stupid. But it does exist and it exists in both directions. However, this President and the media only cry out against it when the victim is a minority. Of course, this makes sense when given the fact that minorities vote Democratic over Republican by a huge margin. Yet despite the fact that the Democrats tend to have control over areas populated by large numbers of minorities, things never seem to improve. This isn't because Republicans are holding them back, but because Democrats favor socialism that keeps people in line and them in power. The more free stuff you offer people (even if you never actually provide it), the more they keep looking to you for handouts. This involves all poor people in general, not just minorities. Democrats prey on the poor and unemployed, and rather than provide opportunities for the poor, they blame the rich and how the rich should be forced to give them free stuff. It's an easy out for Democrats to gain votes without forcing out responsibility.
A huge misconception that Democrats often promote, is that there is some physical limit to how much money there is. This is a flat out lie. Poor people can become rich, without affecting how much money the rich have. There is not 'X' dollars in existence, where the only way for someone poor to get some, is to take it from someone rich. If that were the case, we'd still be limited by the amount of money there was 200 years ago. Money is produced by progress and achievement. Provide people with the education, ability and opportunity to earn a living and they can pull themselves out of poverty. Note that the government doesn't take money from the rich and give it to the poor. They take the money and keep it for themselves, only to then dangle it over the poor with empty promises. They don't create real programs or opportunities. They pay themselves and then turn around and proclaim sorry, but the rich haven't given us enough yet for your share. We need to take more from them. As long as people remain transfixed by these dangling lures, they will never raise themselves out of poverty.
As for the poor becoming rich, that's going to be a problem if Republicans want to tax them more harshly, percentage wise, than big businesses. And of course, they are experts at being the victim, by calling it: Class Warfare, how dramatic of them. Republicans want to squeeze more money out of poor people then ask the rich to maybe not by a 3rd or 4th house. The American Dream is long dead, or rather it never existed to begin with. People do not have an equal chance of success, what's most important is of course money, but right behind that is race and gender. Still, being born into a middle-class family and being white is going to typically lead to better opportunities than any other demographic in the same income bracket.
In regards to the media one-siding racism, heterosexual white males are the dominant figure in our society, always have been, always will be. The more money they have, the better their chances are. Therefore, all of those other 'classes' are at a disadvantage. I am not saying that bigotry and violence is ever right, nor should it be excused, but if I was to look through the data I am sure that there would be more white on non-white 'crimes/acts of violence' committed than vice versa. This is mostly because there are more white people than other demographics, as I said they are the majority. Still, even if they are the majority, they barely make up the majority of prisoners, as blacks are rather close to taking their first place position, which is surprising given how they make up less than 14% of the entire country's population. Either black people just commit more crime, or they get caught and persecuted more often, or more innocents go to jail than are guilty, or maybe more white people are getting lesser sentences or slaps on the wrists if they should get caught. One striking thing I remember is that being caught with like, one 'rock' or whatever of crack cocaine (a stereotypical drug for ethnic inner cities) puts one in jail far faster than powdered cocaine (typically a drug favored by rich dudes, or so I think) despite the fact they are both destructive, and essentially the same thing. And I'm not about ready to whip out the conspiracy that the CIA invented crack due to their connections with drug lords so that they could spread it through said inner cities. Hell, some people say the CIA did the same thing with AIDS, while others believe God is punishing us for allowing Muslims and homosexuals in our rightfully stolen country. Sure every nation was more or less taken from/by another via war, but Manifest Destiny is just stupid.
I now realize how many times I was frantically spelling out "white people" and "black people" c.c; hrm, so I may be taking a bit of a reprieve from this journal. After all, the world hasn't stopped turning and giving me things to complain about. Though it has been interesting to hear your thoughts and opinions of course, thanks for taking the time to respond to my ramblings, even if you don't agree with them. :3
Some of the main problems are the red tape and bureaucracy, where we have dozens of people pushing through hundreds of pages unnecessary paperwork. Also, the liability insurance a doctor has to pay is enormous because every time something goes wrong, people sue for million-dollar settlements. So, doctors have to charge a high fee, simply to pay their own bills. There are dozens of areas that can be fixed that will reduce the cost, but it does not start with the health insurance companies. They are merely an easy target to go after first.
You know as well as I do that in the end, it's all about who has the bigger cock.
And honestly, this should be used as an example for testing. He shot the kid, claimed it was self defense. Cool. So, now, when he's out, walking to the gas station, ANYONE can shoot him and say that his t-shirt gave them the heebie jeebies and that he needed to be shot out of self defense. Dilemma, and annoyance, solved :3
However, I will digress that Zimmerman was a moron for approaching Trayvon in the first place, but even if he did verbally provoke him, it doesn't justify assaulting another person. The police administrators and supervisors on scene obviously concluded as much, but also should have conducted the investigation as homicides are meant to be investigated. Both individuals should be put under the microscope, victim and actor.
