If I can't sell a truck I've been sitting on, I was thinking about pulling the motor for the Mark and building it up a bit. The only thing going against it is that its a fuel injected motor and I'd rather have a carb on that monster.

really, that's fuelie? Mine was just the stock Autolite 4-bbl carb, I've got an Edelbrock 750 on it now which makes it run much happier. Still, I need to freshen up the insides: bearings, rings, do a valve job, timing set, oil pump, slightly bigger cam etc.

Is yours a 429, 460, or 400? You told me but I forgot. If you want to ditch the fuel injected parts let me know ;) You can certainly have my cast-iron 4-bbl stock intake, since im going to an aluminum one. SO long as yours is a 385 Lima series 429 or 460 it should fit, but I'll double check.

The Mark has the 460, but I wanted to pull another 460 out of my truck to build it up while still driving the car. The motor in that truck would need an overhaul, but the one in the car now runs like its almost new. Its just the emission controlled version of '77.

fff what year is the truck? does it have a serpentine belt setup? and uh... do you want it? :B

Its an '89, and it does have the serpintine belt. I'm really trying to sell the truck out right, but I've had no interest in the month and a half I've had it on the side of the road.

Well depending on how much you were looking to get I might be interested for the drivetrain. The fuel injection + overdrive tranny are parts I plan to play with in the future. To be clear, I'd buy the truck as a whole and pull everything and probably junk the body, unless someone had a use for it. Where do you live again, NY ?
