Help with a fursona

I'm tired of having a plain boring fursona that i make up in a half and hour. So can anybody give me some tips of making a nice fursona?
I'd like to be a half lizard and a steen bok combo. So any advice please?

Well, i like to be a steenbok cross with a lizard. I have like the bok body and face but with like the lizard tail but short and lizard feet thats a bit hairy ontop and i got no hooves, lizard eyes with sharp teeth, that's all i got :(

How? I'm not sure how, i can't even draw so i have no idea what do from there or how to explain the detail or anything or whats the detail even called. All the fursonas i made was plain and borig.
