Rape on my Campus

Ok so there have been three, count em, THREE rapes on my campus this SEMESTER! not even this year! Just this semester! They happened IN the DORM rooms. Two of them happened within an hour of each other. The one was the girls own fault b/c she picked the guy up at a party....then took him back to her room...wow yeah lets meet strangers at parties then bring to our bedroom alone and just cuddle...yeah ok, thats EXACTLY what was on his mind.
NOW there is another rape, only this time, it was in (mine and Blaze's) OUR building, the one we SLEEP in. Great.
Apparently the girl and the boy were studying and they shared a drink. He told her he wanted to have sex with her and when she declined he pushed her onto the bed. He kept telling her he wanted to have sex with her and she just kept saying no, not that that meant anything to him at all.
The rape happened around 10:00pm on MONDAY the 24th of March, and the girl reported it around midnight. Wow. The school didnt even alert us, i read it in the local news paper.
This sucks. That poor girl. He was arrested and put in jail on a $20,000 bail which he met later that day. He cannot come onto our campus until a school hearing is completed. He is a freshman on our wrestling team...
so...basically...they better expel him from here. PLUS the other rapes, hah! they have made no arrests for them so those two rapists are still running around. WooHoo!

I don't know if it's the first victim's fault or not, taking a stranger in or not. it's not her fault he was a slave to his desires/hormones/found it funny. if he was a known rapist, maybe...
ah. it's about time society does stop taking raping as something that happens because some girl wears a skirt that ends above her ankles and thus it's her own fault, because that is not true. courts everywhere throw you into jail for the rest of your life after a bankrobbery, but what if you raped soemone? killed her, even? 10 years, maybe. 15 if you killed her. I mean, is a human's life worth nothing more these days?

i agree with you. I was just ranting and i just think she should have been smarter than to think taking a drunk stranger into her bedroom would be a good idea. Men have desires, we need to be careful with how strong they are and how they will go to fulfill them.
People shouldnt have to feel afraid of inviting a friend into their rooms to study.
I dont know if Blaze knows about this yet actually. Not this one, the other ones she does.
And yess we should have harsher security here and 10 to 15 years is disturbing. They should get at least 30 years, thats plenty of time for them to \"think it over\" or get killed in prison.

everybody deserves a second chance, thing is, most rapists can't help but take what they want with brute force, and therefore should be locked away for the rest of their lives. and some are, actually.
I also 'love' it when some psychologists claim some psycopath 'healed', and they are set free and next thing they do is commit the next crime...
