Im now in a teensy little town in Saskatchewan called 'Grenfell.'

I wanted to stay in a hotel, but... well, Im not sure where the next hotel would be, so I settled for this somewhat-decent motel with wifi in the middle of nowhere, because thats all there seems to be out here between Regina and Winnipeg. Teensy little communities with shady looking motels.
I got a speeding ticket outside of Calgary for going 142 in a 110 zone (km/h remember) and that kinda ruined my day... at least the officer was kind enough to reduce the ticket price from $196 down to about $115 because I pulled right over even before he turned on his lights. X>
Everything after the rockies is boring as hell to drive through. The trans-Canada highway is in varying states of disrepair, sometimes its all pristine and new, sometimes huge potholes and noisy enough to drown out most of my music. But the only scenery once you get out of the rockies is... plains. Flat, huge, expansive, boring. PLains plains plains. Nothing but plains. ffffffff-boring!
So I started this morning in Golden, BC, heading out at about 10:30ish, and Im now in Grenfell at about 10:00ish. Here's what google directions says about the trip...
"1,138 km, 13 hours 2 mins
Trans-Canada Hwy/AB-1 E and Trans-Canada Hwy/SK-1 E"
So yeah, I shaved some time off their estimation by speeding a bit and even with my pitstops I made good time! Should be a shorter, decent drive tomorrow I think to finish up in Winnipeg.
Also also, why the hell is the speed limit on the trans-Canada 110? Its so flat and straight and open, hardly dangerous to be going 150 or more!
