Just wondering.... OwO

I may be silly to ask this till now, but I saw a lot of artists doing those "stream" stuff out there. I couldn't stop wondering why they would do so? Do they get paid when there's a lot of watchers when steaming? OwO
To me streaming seems just another way to slow down your computer and distracts you when you try to concertrate on work....well, you know :P

If you submit something, submit with actual value. Submissions are not advertisement of streaming! D:
Also once the Stream is over the submission usually gets deleted so there's real difference either way. There are much worse things that get submitted. Some people who can't draw to save their lives upload these pathetic scribbles and call it art. One guy got pissed at me because I even asked him about his art, but there was no art to speak, just crappy doodles that were wasting HHD space on the server.
I do know some artists say, they cann't work doing stream.. they end up mostly chatting.
and if you happen to take requests during a stream, there's the option of being paid for it, or just doing it for "shits and giggles"
yeah it does bog your memory down, and it is distracting, but it's also a great way to meet people XD
Also some just do it for the company :3
Some people offer slavestreams which allows a buyer to watch you draw and pick what you draw for a specified amount of time usually discussed ahead of time between buyer and seller. Some people do charge more for such a service.
Just an idea in case you feel giddy.
Just my thought on the matter.
if you want pomotions, put an AD on fursites, it cost only a little and it safe you a LOT of time. The effect is much better than sitting there and let others watch you during your work....

If you do decide to stream for the love of god don't charge for it, you'll look pretentious if you do.
I usually only stream commissioned work, sometimes privately. Most customers love to watch you create their picture. =)
As for slowing down your computer? I haven't had a problem, but my PC is a home-built (by myself) gaming rig that I upgrade fairly frequently. I'd imagine your internet speeds would play more of a part.
At the end of the day, each to their own!
