It has nothing to do with Zombiecat, it has everything to do with avoiding poo-pics.

Zombiecat used to help there by hiding it behind thumbnails so we non-scatophiles could easily avoid them when they came up on our personal new-submission feeds.

Now that is not the case. The only option now to avoid the poo-pics is to un-watch.

It is a bad reason. furries here should realize that they are on the lowest social level so they have no right to complain.

They don't appear in galleries or while browsing anymore. Only on a user's front page and maybe on the new submissions page (although maybe not).

Do who? The code people and admins? I dunno. They just redid the thumbnail system so they'd be bigger, and thus are generated from the full-size images themselves.

I don't know if they're gonna put custom thumbnails for galleries and such in there again, or what their feelings on that are.

I directly asked 'Neer on his frontpage if they'd be dealing with this. I think I got a rather plain 'yes,' so, I guess I'm holding out 'til Halloween? I 'unno.

When I originally watched you a few months back (all the while looking at your submissions for well over a year anyway), I considered the fact that there may be some things I didn't like. I clicked anyway, because I love at least 80% of your stuff...and so it shall remain!

To be fair the shit was formerly hidden in the scraps gallery and behind thumbnails.

I always knew Zombiecat did poo-pics. I don't like poo-pics. I mean I Really-Really-Really don't like poo-pics.

But, I like Zombiecat's hyper and herm stuff, so I watch. Zombiecat was good enough to hide the scat behind big black boxes that say 'SCAT' in big read letters, so it was all good.

Now, FA has implemented a shiny new thumbnail system, so when I check my new-submissions feed instead of seeing whatever custom thumbnail the artist may have intended it shows it's own thumbnail built from a re-size of the entirety of the original image.

Nothing against Zombiecat, but I still wanna avoid the poo-pics, so I gotta un-watch.

We know what Zombiecat draws, some may be bastards and harass him about it, I wouldn't know, I don't get into that drama. I just don't wanna see poo-pics.

The Watch system lets me see all the new submissions by artists by sending them to my own personal feed so I can check 'em all out on one convenient page.

There used to be a thumbnail system in place that allowed us watchers a last-chance to avoid seeing the submissions we thought were objectionable and just moving on to the ones we actually wanted to see. That system is now broken and so we can't avoid the objectionable pics anymore unless we un-watch the artist thus avoiding EVERYTHING they submit being sent to us.

It's like a cheese of the month club, where one of the cheeses they regularly circulate is that Sardinian sheep's-milk cheese that's full of maggots. They start with a system that lets you approve or deny the delivery of a cheese before it comes to your house, but then they did away with it assuming that, "Ey, if you don't want the cheese just throw it in the garbage.. forcing us to handle this rotting lump of curdled sheep's milk and maggots. So goodbye aged Chedder, goodbye smoked Gouda, goodbye Pecorino Romano because I'm not touching that maggot-cheese.

I'm really pissed that nobody seems concerned about fixing this issue! Warning thumbnails make it so much easier to upload a broad variety of fetish content in one account without ruffling feathers. I mean, okay - it shouldn't be a necessity, but as an optional courtesy it's very useful. So the way I see it, the people most shafted by this feature downgrade are artists who are kinky, flexible, and considerate. Which includes many of my favorites.

Of course this brings me back to my point I've been making, that FA needs a way to blacklist keywords. That way people who don't want to see awesome things like scat and dicknipples can blacklist those tags and won't ever see them pop up.

I think it's pretty fair that people don't want their own personal feeds to feature things they dislike.

The whole purpose of a watch is that you want to see more of this person's work, be that due to subject matter, style, whatever.

Given the visible matter has changed, yes, people's choices to watch you are going to change.

I've never watched you for those reasons, not to say I don't like some of your stuff, I do, but, you have to weigh up the pros and cons of having somebody's art posted directly into your private watch list.

I don't think you should be trying to "Desensitize" "Haters" or even have any form of vague dislike for them.

They just didn't want to see what you were posting any more. If anything the fault is due to the lack of custom thumbnails.

If you want, you can call those people "Weak", you can insult their tolerances and preferences, but it's just hypocrisy at the end of the day.

While I absolutely love your hyper scat pics, I had always thought that because you do them so often, that for you, sense of shame was pretty much thrown out the window.

Seems to me from the comments that a lot of people are taking this personally, like they're treating the 'watch' button not as a utility for FA users to conveniently follow art they find aesthetically pleasing but as a 'You're Awesome' button for the artist and electing to 'un-watch' is a deliberate 'YOU SUCK' message.

You basically gave two similar reasons for people watching users.

ZombieCat is the only guy I watch who regularly does scat. I like his art style. Even faved a few of his scat pics because, even if I am not a scat fan, I like some of his scat stuff.

I used to watch you because you did the scatty stuff, but now it's just because of your art style in general.

I've noticed some artists are uploading a warning picture, waiting until it scrolls off the front page and then replacing it with the intended image. Might try that.
