I cant remember how I found Jack. Just that no matter how disturbing Iv found some of the arcs, so far the stories are so well done I'm compelled to keep reading to find out more. Now thats quality.

I've also read through Better Days a couple of times myself. Not many comics get my attention to follow through reading the whole thing, let alone to do so more than once. :P

I personally like the showing of progress, how style and skill develop. I think it helps to clue aspiring artists into that its all practice. Skilled artists don't just suddenly pop into existence, it takes time and effort.

I like seeing the evolution of skill and style, personally. If you go to Penny Arcade, for example, you can still see their first comics and compare them to how everything's changed to what they post now. I've always thought that was pretty cool.

Been reading angst about your work for years now, Fisk. I have to say, (and I admit to being lazy, and NOT finding out if it's really available), I'd BUY yer entire 'Original Life' comic, if it was out there, and also most of your other short stories. My 'Library' is growing. Slowly, but surely.

I remember stumbling across 'O.L.', WAY back when, though the original source/link is long forgotten. I found the earlier art style quite charming, actually. Seeing your skills improve as time went by, only reaffirmed my appreciation for it. I hope you never 'Axe' any of it! Heck, look back on 'Bloom County', 'Garfield', 'Peanuts', et al, and you'll get my point? (Of course, they didn't really deal with the 'Adult' stuff, but still)

Anywho, I only have 'One' gripe about your art-style, but it doesn't matter, compared to all the things I LOVE about it. So, the neigh-sayers, and doubters, haters, and bigots, can all crawl into a long, deep hole somewhere, and just slather themselves in their idiocy.

P.S.

I realize this is a side-topic, but I have to confess. I first read 'O.L.', on a 'Pirate Site', that posted comics immorally. I am slowly buying my way through the ones I enjoy, and am VERY leery of making 'Blind' purchases. Too often, I'm disappointed by the entire thing, when just a few images/anecdotes are used as a 'Tease'.

I know which encyclopedia you refer to, and I never cease to be amazed when people refer to it as though it is a reliable source of information.

I find that one should often just follow their own instincts & see how they feel about something.

Rather than just reading through a bunch of opinions someone else might have.

It's great when negative/destructive criticism is counter productive to the poster's goals. In fact I ended up watching an artist because one fool was being an asshat, through his insulting journal entry about the artist; I discovered them. :D

honestly i love your comic i dont see why some would say it sucks and that it has pedophile like scenes anf things. all the sex done in any of your comics has people that are of age with the anatomy showing they are of that age group. and ur style of drawing is awesome and ur expressions cool. all i say is that ur comic gets a 5/5 stars good job :D

It's great that you gained a new fan through that! And it's nice to know that some people do pay attention to exactly what's being said and take the opportunity to decide for themselves. Frankly, I think some people miss one very important fact about webcomics and yours in particular: They're ENTERTAINMENT!! Even if the content is serious, it's still intended to entertain and take people from the stress of their own daily lives. It's unfortunate that so many forget that.

It would have been better possibly if the site was supposed to focus on both the good AND bad of the comic. Like "Oh i like this artist's style, and his/ her jokes are funny now and again. However, I don't like it when they use certain themes in their comic..."

To me, I find it funny to see another person's opinionated statement about anything and everything. If you are going to completely hate something, bash on them, and attempt to get others to agree with you. You will get those who support or who is neutral about it to give counter-statements to make things more balanced... It all depends on how it is done

I loved your comic since the beginning, and I grew excited every time I see you improve more and more. Your story has good and bad bits, but that is every story, because nothing is ever perfect. And I am happy about that fan mail you got there. ^^

Personally, I've always enjoyed your comics!

I like your comics, and they are quite good. But when you get these kind of comments, it makes you wonder "WTF are they smoking?". The guy claims your comic is racist political propaganda, among other things. People read way too much into things.

While I've never read anything in that Wiki (actually never knew of it until now) your comic is great.

It entertains; it's timely; the character's are certainly NOT one-dimentional; in short a great deal of creativity comes shining through.

It's nice to read, that I'm not alone in that assessment.

I still find it odd how some people can take anything said on the internet so seriously in the first place. At this point, the web is damn near an extension of our bodies, but my invested interest in it is purely for fun or work.

I love your comics. I don't remember how I found your site but I have been reading since the first Better Days comic pages (that's a LOOONNNGGG time ago).

Anyone who has an opinion or review (be it negative or positive) on a particular thing, I usually check out and review myself before i give an overall opinion. I don't like to see something interesting, hear terrible reviews about it and then say 'hmm. Well, I'll probably not like it because of so and so.' Anything you haven't witnessed or read yet shouldn't be tossed to the side at first glance. It's always good to try out new and different things. Even things you've never tried before. You will be surprised. :)

Bad web comics. Sites to ridicule them. Somebody ridiculing the ridicule site. You're reporting it here. It's all too confusing. If anyone calls, I'm back in the 20th. century...

It isn't so much reviewing a comic if it is constantly talking crap about the author. Should one really attempt to make a point about the comic, rather than just wanting to be pissy, one could put some valid points.
Accusations and no proof, pretending to understand something that is completely over their head. Sounds like the reviewer was a pretentious dick who has nothing better to do. I hope you really did tell him/her (I am leaning more on it being a 'him') not to bother you with stupid crap like that. If he found it fap worthy, that would be his opinion wouldn't it, thus making him the pedophile.

Personally I'd be quite violent, and my violence isn't the "I'll beat you up and send you to the hospital." It is the, "I'll tear your chest open, rip off one of your ribs and gut you with it, wrapping your body with your own entrails and hanging you by the ceiling for all to see as I watch your organs rip under your weight until you fall into a pool of your own blood." type of violence.

I do hope I do not disturb anyone with this, it is merely how my mind works.

I can imagine vast worlds of great resplendence and scope. I can imagine entire pantheons and mortals alike. I can imagine storylines and panoramic schemes but I actually cannot imagine being so broken. So solvent in dedication to being an Eeyore, as to put up a wiki-site dedicated to bitching and whining over web comics and their authors that I don't like.

If there is an award for fuckery, that site would get my vote for sure. However it seems that it has led to at least one person becoming a fan, or at least opening their mind up a little. If there is a bright spot in the toxic vitriol that is internet 'bully' bullshit, that would be it.

I realize a lot of people out there on the internet bash a lot of different things, both good and bad, but its nice to see some people break out of the "Oh, I'll do it too, because everyone else is doing it, and I don't want to feel like an outcast" stereotype and stand up for what they believe is something good.
