Still play on the 7800 from time to time. Hadn't really considered before that I'm only seven months older than the game company of legend.

AND you can watch porn on 'em!
Not across the board, sadly. And PC elitists make me sick to be a PC gamer.
There's also the issue of entry cost and the inconvenience PC gaming affords (consoles you stick the game in and play, PC gaming can end up taking at least an hour to get running, sometimes longer if you're not as up to date as you could be, or if you need to find X program or X tweak/mod to make something run).
P.S.
Yes, I am a P.C. Elitist. Problem?
Can't stand the pompous attitude of PC elitists. It's so pathetic and it's just as bad as the console fanboys they decry.
Played Pong a lot and beat everyone who challenge me.
Same with Atari...and I had a Commodore 64 too.
Google him sometime. You'll be surprised what that man has made that everyone knows.
Granted, with the number of 'Gamestation' consoles I saw for sale the last time I visited home, I wouldn't be surprised if I had a knock-off, which is why I have such a hard time pinning what I used to own. o.x
As well as my Odyssey2, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Sega Master System, Dreamcast, Sony Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance SP, Game Boy Micro, DS, DSi, PSP... ^_^;;
plus the ps2 doubles as a dvd player the regular one not the slimmed down version mind you. so it serves double duty for me.
On a side note, I always find it hilarious when the games I loved and played the most as a kid show up on other folks' "Worst Games of All Time" lists. Like the NES Who Framed Roger Rabbit game; I played the HELL out of that when I was 10 and apparently had no idea I wasn't supposed to like it, haha.
Berzerk
Yar's Revenge
Defender
Vangard
Demon Attack
Cosmic Ark
Dragon Fire
Omega Race
Combat
Breakout
Warlords
But I also still play games on my T1200-060'50 or A1200-040'40 from time to time, admittedly I use winuae more often these days... poor towered 'miggy's keyboard socket is failing pretty badly.
I think my fave atari game has to be Crystal Castles
including PS2 games.
Isn't the point of videogames is to have fiun ? I don't even care which is better.
plus netflix.
Should get a pic of them all
And your parents were convinced that the numbers from pong would burn in the screen...
Was born with the atari waiting for me. Played frogger, tank, pong, pitfall and an odd assortment of games till I was about 6. Nintendo educated me on some of the tougher games such as mario, captain skyhawk, andtetris.{OMG I never played zelda! O.O} After some more years, we got a super nintendo and continued with the mario's, Battleship, and my all time old school favorite even to this day-Gradius 3. For many many many years, I played on that console and own one even today, but as times changed, so did my console and I turned to sony playstation 1 after the prices started to come down. My favorites was Gran Turismo, Grand theft auto, and Medal of Honor. Then the PS2 had gotten its "bugs" worked out, and it was next up. Again medal of honar series, Gran turismo series, and this time two new ones poped up, while one stole my heart forever. Armored core seires and resident evil series.
But the one that took the iceing on the cake was Tribes Aeral assult.
From 20-21 years of age, I was found with a controller in my hand, on the couch, playing my very first online based game. In the wonderfull world of dial up land, I had absolutely no way of playing such a fast paced, action packed, first person shooter untill playstation decided to vamp up their gameing from a dull "pre arranged robotic action game", to chaotic, free ranged, unhindered madness. In fact, dureing my time playing tribes, I felt as I had actually molded the game play and unspoken rules till the end of the tribes glory days.
I found a way to use the "unuseable" laser sniper rifle. I achived a way to fly back and forth to the enemies base without ever landing on the ground, and I had developed a way to attack someone that no one could imitate. For a year solid, "There was no compition here. Everyone could just give up" as I was a terror in the sky, and a nightmare in the enemies base.
Sometime in 2008 newer games started to become more popular with the online guys, slowly the servers started to empty out. A lot of the old school die hards stuck around, but mostly the dial up guys like me was stuck with one of the last dial up games ever produced by playstation. Every single game developed afterwards was for high speed DSL or better. And the last times online seemed to hurt the worst.
After a year solid of being a terror, I was truely hardened and professional at tribes, and the last few times I tried my hand, it seemed novices had started their own server to just dink around. However they either labled me a cheat, or got tired of me makeing mince meat out of them as the only time I ever got kicked out of a server was after I captured enough flags to end 4 games in under 20 minutes.
Ever since then, its been PS2 and of course, your most favorite of all favorite manufactures.....Microsofts X-box 360. :P Left 4 dead, boarderlands, and Bio shock.
I WILL LET YOU IN ON A LITTLE SECRET THOUGH!!!!
Do not buy or even think of owning a X-box 360, unless its the slim! The old big boxy and clunky style was scrap from the factory... They had every known problem to mankind resulting from piss poor manufactoring.
Im not an engineer, or even a computer geek. I am an auto repair technician, but even I know that their main problem is from heat removal. The damn things cook themselves stupid. Don't buy one, not even if you think you can put an additional fan on it, it will not help.
Add to that that the soder they use is extra brittle, and its just begging for $150 to be flushed down the toilet.
Tho I'm more of a NES, SNES and Genesis fan than I am Atari. It's funny. Atari tried so hard to be up to date with graphics and gameplay, but ended up failing and are now just a company that distributes and once in a while produces games for other consoles but not make their own. Same story with Sega.
