Well, the final of the EURO 2012 is over and the new and old European champion is Spain!
They certainly deserved it after a 4-0 humiliation conga against Italy.
I felt a little sorry for the Italians, actually: while Germany and Portugal at least scored some "honorary" goals when they got kicked out in the semi-finals, Italy was denied that chance to save face.
Spain is now tied with Germany for the most wins of the European championship and is also the first team to defend its title (Spain also won in 2008).
The last 3 weeks were lots of fun football-wise, now it's 2 years before the next big international tournament: the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

That really was surprising! I would've bet on a 3-1 win for the Spanish team.

Italy did so well in their last game it was a bit of a shocker... Ah well! The Spaniards deserve it after some excellent games!
