I heard on the news that parts of Maryland had been hit bad. Was wondering if your area was okay. I guess not

3 people i know are down that way trying to restore power as fast as they can from the Philadelphia area (along with half of PECO)

I see plenty enough trucks heading this way and that. Just not to fix my street. I know bigger areas take precedent but looks like they fixed most of the rest of the town already.

Don't take any chances with spoiled food. You may try the grocery store and see if they have any dry ice. Pack the freeze with that. Also the insurance company may pay for the dry ice too.

Well got regular ice for today. I won't take any chances and probably will have to chuck a bunch of stuff.

At least you haven't yet hooked a fox on a treadmill up to a generator and spurred him into a run to power your place..... wait, em... delete delete delete delete.

Somehow my town has power everywhere and never lost it. All the surrounding towns still have no power and 2 will not till Thursday or Friday. That's towns not homes. *hugs*

Look at the bright side. It's an excuse to go out and eat every night with whitepaw if he's around.

Oh wow, you guys are lucky then. Sadly, whitepaw is 4 hours away. If I didn't still have work (of course they have power) I'd be down with him!

Of course work has power. *cries* mine does as well. Odd because the town the facility is in doesn't have it. I wanted to go to DC for the 4th of July but I gotta work. I was wishing the power would be out at work till like Thursday.

Sushi Kim's is good but we (A large group of us) went to a different place just outside the city and OMG. 17$ U.S. All you can eat and it's quality sushi (Not typical buffet crap) Soooo damn good!

Nice! I think I saw you both around AC a few times but just a passing glance. I couldn't see much with my makeshift fursuit eyes. I'm working on replacements and considering remaking the entire head.

After Irene visited me last year, power was out for five days at home. I actually bought a generator two states away and brought it back home. ANd it worked perfectly. I got home just as the sun was setting, and wasn't able to get it going before dark. The power came back on the next morning.

Now I have the generator out in the barn, and I pull it out every couple months and run it for a while. It has enough power to run the fridge, internet router, and a couple of fans. Or enough to run the furnace and a couple of lights for the wintertime power failures.

Thing is I have a generator too. When I had the house I used it a few times and it worked good. Trouble is I am now in an apartment at this time and all my stuff is back at my parents. They actually used the generator back in October for that freak blizzard that had them with no power for a week.

Then you are at the mercy of your landlord for emergency power then. Nearly all apartments don't have a place you can safely and legally operate a generator. Or a charcoal grill, for that matter. Sorry about that.

Meep I know what you're going through, last year I had no power for a week or so. If it's anything like my situation big retailers should be open for buying non-perishable food.

There is no backup generator for internets. hehe. AT&T has a pretty crappy signal at the house, which is why I have the 3g microcell.. which needs broadband.. and it got toasted too.. And t-mobile service is 1 bar of epic slow..
