Helga "The Horrible" Finally Speaks

Helga "The Horrible" Karlson for years has often kept silent to the media, however FSPN was able to recently talk with her at the Gateway Forum in St. Louis, MO following Team Sweden's 5-2 Victory over Canada Red in the FHL World Tournament.
Van Weezer: May I first say thank you for sharing your time with us and get to our first question which I'm sure many have wondered: despite being the 2011 preseason MVP and one of the biggest stars on the Tundra, is there any particular reason you've been staying silent all these years?
Karlson: I just tend to be camera shy, prior to playing in the FHL I always had a hard time doing interviews back home in Stockholm. It's always easier for me to conjure up courage when you have a pack of teammates and opponents than when alone.
Van Weezer: I see, I also noticed tonight, like earlier this past season, that you seem to be getting hurt a lot more frequently than most players. Tonight it was in your neck, but I noticed your tail has taken some damage throughout your career as well, any idea why that is?
Karlson: It might be the same reason I haven't seen many other females in this league. I think some of the players are just taking the term "chase some tail" a little too literally. They should know I do have a mate off the ice though, so I'm not availible!
Van Weezer: This season should change as far as the female presence goes, as several women have entered this year's draft. Do you have any tips for the aspiring female rookies?
Karlson: Yes, my main one is always watch your tail. My second one is, unless you're looking to date a teammate or coach, put your sports bra on at home or in the hotel room before you change at the arena. I made the mistake of not doing that once and the embarrassment caused me to have a horrible night on the ice!
Van Weezer: That sounds like words to live by. Now I've noticed that so far team Sweden has been playing very solid with 3 Tundra members on the squad including yourself. Do you believe that the connection you 3 have as regular season teammates is playing a factor in this?
Karlson: Absolutely! Bjorn (Sandell) and I have been great friends as well as teammates for a few years now and while Hal (Sunderson) may only have one season in the books, he's quickly learned to how to work with us on defense. We not only play and practice together, but can often be seen hitting the bars together after the games. They don't call the Tundra the "Swedish Invasion" for nothing!
Van Weezer: Okay, I got one final question before I let you go party with your teammates: How did you get your nickname of "Helga the Horrible," when you are certainly not a "horrible" player?
Karlson: I think it's my blonde pig tails. I've had them since I was a pup and never plan to cut them off. Many other furs say that when I put a helmet on, they make me look like a Viking wife like in the comic strip "Hagar the Horrible."
Van Weezer: Seems to make sense, well I thank you for your time Mrs. Karlson and wish you the best of luck in this tournament, hope the injury heals soon.
Karlson: Thank you.

And while Karlson may be a good player, I'd like to see something like this with Samantha Dalembart, the first and only (that I know of) true female superstar of the FHL.
Must've got confused with Hanaho Sasada, also from Hamilton. She started the season 8-0-1 in goal I think it was.
