This is just one of the many reasons I have a love-hate relationship with the anthro fandom.

Love the concept, hate (most of) the community. lawl

Exactly, a lot of cool concepts, and some not so COOL.

It's like that with every type of community, though. No matter what the social norms within that community are, if you deviate or overexert them, you will be ridiculed by at least one person. That's because no one would understand that group's intended behavior like people that are actually in the group.

I love being an anthroist, but the community has some strange social attitudes. For one, I don't really approve of how much some people in the fandom express their sexuality (be it gender preferences or simply sex in general) to obnoxious degrees. Yes, it can be pretty bad outside the fandom as well, but since anthroists are very close-knit, it's much more common around their circles. I understand that everyone has distinct views, so I don't go out of my way to preach my opinions on those subjects. They still bother me, however.

So, I don't single out specific people, but I do criticize the fandom as a whole. It set up such a lax environment that it lets stupidity grow to very high states every now and again. (Like the peeps who got the BBQ banned in New Jersey or wherever for doing each other in public.)

I never said one should be ashamed of sex and sexuality. I said one shouldn't go around being crudely blatant and overbearing about it. That's just having horrid social skills.

The repetition was hilarious. So they live in a community where it's all sunshine and rainbow farts, ok great. Even in a community like that the shirt is still... ugly, pretentious, and so LOOK AT ME.

It's not the fact that it has sperm on it, or that it has rainbow paw prints, it's that it's so fucking ridiculously furry cheesy it's hard to begin. Socially inept people would believe that shirt is just the bomb diggity. It's stereotypical furry, and that's why only two people think it's a good idea.

Have you ever been in a shop that sells all sorts of really raunchy, low-class t-shirts that attempt to be funny and wonder who in the hell would ever buy one? This is just like one of those shirts, but with a furry theme. And just like the generic raunchy t-shirts, when I see people wearing them I have visions of smacking them upside the head.
