ALIVE

No, not the book or the movie based on the book: me. I'm alive.
This time the silence (and general absence from those places I've been known to haunt on the Internets, that series of tubes, thank you Senator Ted Stevens) is largely due for reasons that are Most Awesome. I've got me a new full-time gig with a cool company! After months of craziness (freelancing in a new market, scrambling to pay bills and all that jazz) I have got some stability again. Critterbeans, it feels so good to know I've got my ass covered, even if it turns out only to be temporary. Dunno, though.....I've got a feeling that I've finally found my landing pad. So Berbie? Him happy. Work, taxes and events are keeping him running at full tilt, but that's gonna change soon, too. After May, the only thing I need worry about (if it can be called "worry", since I don't plan on selling or schmoozing while I'm there) is Comic Con. I got work, my pups, the Intarnets and movies; best of all I've got me budskis to play wif.
I'll be back and participating, too; I owe Lil Miz Nightclaw her crit, and there's some thank-you art that's gonna get done. Figure drawing again, woot!! And painting, puppy adventures, maybe even meeting a few cool folks I've always wanted to meet.
2008 brought a strong fresh breeze into my life. I can feel my wing muscles again. I can feel the itch to stretch them, to get 'em all beefy and powerful. A permanent state of affairs? Probably not, but then, nothing is. I'll give this new tack all I've got. Who knows? By the time I've got to tack again, who's to say it *won't* be to something even better?
Hope. Nice to see you again, babe. You've been gone a long time.

Here's hoping I get to say that soon too.
Kind ironic, it's once you land firmly and safely for the nonce that you start to feel those wing muscles get itchy again. Maybe they're just fatigued, eh?
I'd toast ya if you were here, but for now this'll have to do:
I got the good juju, and that stuff only works if you send it along, so up northward it goes. May that sunny day arrive sooner'n soon!!
I think, when we're really blue, we forget we have those wings. Same thing happens when we get really afeared. It closes our minds down. I can speak to that directly. Stress does the same thing; it's all part of the same stinky bundle.
I toast you right back, woman. One day, in person!
I love that feeling of finally getting above the work load and to-do lists and seeing the opportunities and possibilities, but most of all, the freedom that lies ahead.
Plus, there is SO much to be said about having the security of a reliable job. I'm really excited for ya to hear things are working so well in your favor :)
Cheers mate and have fun!
We need to get together with Alex and Max and have some goddamn beer. Soon.
Further south, there's Heroe's which regularly has some 150 beers on tap. It's a pretty big, all american bar.
I'm also 100% game for any museums or trail hikes :D
btw, gonna polish off that pic of Tursi pounding me? That was hot ;)
I'm ducking out of working the con this year. It's become too much of a zoo.
And I agree, the place is a zoo. But what our group does is provide programs for the con in return for a free booth space. This year we hope to have a panel on Music in Animation (with special panelist Michael Giacchino), our annual State of The Industry panel, and the bizarrely popular "Worst Cartoons Ever" program.
Nice when everything is looking up.
I'm so glad things are going well for you! Brigth futures ahead, and smooth sailing and all that! <3 c:
It's TECHNICALLY under wraps still (no official announcements have been made as of yet) but your warm wishes are, as always, so appreciated. <3
Sheet mang, I could write songs with this stuff D:
*JAM OUT* bomchicka wom wom chicka chicka~
We ain't quite back into the ideal groove: gots a couple weeks or three before things settle down proper. It's looking like June will be the moment all will hit a stable groove. Between now and then are many possible curves in the ol' roller coaster. We shall see, und endure, too.
*hugstight* You are such an adorable nut. :D
Chicka whom whom..
Gad, look how long it took for me to get to this. Yeesh. :P
Honest, though, things are starting to settle....and dat make Berbie happy hap happy. How de hell you doin' anyway?
I shall send thee moneys soon as I know how ye wants 'em. I'll jet ye a PM today and we can babble about it. Yay for gettin' a job!!
I saw the title to your post, and immediately thought about you in a place crash, stranded atop a mountain, gnawing away on the leg bones of fellow passengers..
Kudos to the work. Its scary to think someone as talented as yourself sir, have trouble finding permanent work.
Though I'm not sure I'd chew on a soccer player. Seems like they'd be kinda stringy. Given the circumstances, though, any kind of food on a barren mountaintop would rock. Well, okay, not ROCK, but it'd beat snow.
Hey, there are no guarantees in this world, no matter how good a body may be. New market, lots of competition, no money to speak of. Scary stuff. At least things have settled for the nonce. *hugs* Thanks, man.
Blood Snow Cone, in a Fried Skin hand Wrap anyone?

the restart felt quite good since I got rid of any expectations, and after my final exam binge tomorrow I want to show the world what damage Kohi can do with a pencil^^
