the higgs certainly has something to do with how what we perceive as matter comes into being. it MAY even shed light on the origins of tangible matter.

as for being a bridge between the non-tangible and the tangible, that remains very much to be seen. will it enable the math that will unify and simplify the inter-relation of all forces and matter?
it very well may. or it may come very close. what it does though, is fill in a major gap in our understanding of that process, or so that is what my understanding seems to be.

if we have learned anything though, it might very well be that however close, or far, we look, there will likely always be more to be seen.

will it give us the insight to circumvent what we now perceive as limitations, some of them anyway.

i hope this. i would like to see this.
but i also hope, before that is accomplished, that our species will have matured somewhat further socially and culturally.
you know, in the sense of being more responsible about the conditions we create for ourselves, as nations and as a species.

i AM glad research like this is being done.
(and not so glad more people don't understand and appreciate the value of it)
