Artist and Patron Rights and Responsibilities
13 years ago
General
You, as a patron of mine, and I, as your artist, have the following rights and responsibilities:
Timely completion of your piece. Your piece will be finished as soon as possible, however several factors may delay your commission's completion. These may include your queue position, unresolved questions I might have that have bearing on the piece, and the day-to-day "real life" responsibilities I have. Creating art is, however, my current main source of income, and as such, it is in our mutual interest that I finish it ASAP. My time is precious, and so is yours.
Free line of communication. You can tell me anything you want regarding what you want done for your commission. This works both ways - I might have questions about your piece that I need to have answered before I can continue. I will advise my patrons of any delays, and provide reasonable explanations. Communications should remain clear and on-topic, that is, regarding the work I am doing for you. Remember to communicate any expectations you have about how you want your piece to turn out - I cannot read minds... yet >.>'
Value for the money. Again, this works both ways: I will create a product for you that is commensurate with your payment, and I will be paid a fair price. In the vast majority of cases, you will provide a clear idea of your expectations, and I will provide a price and expect payment before work begins. In rare cases, I may choose to work at an hourly rate and bill you upon completion - however this arrangement will be worked out to the satisfaction of both parties before work begins. In general, complexity=time, and time=money. I reserve the right to revalue my services, with appropriate notice.
The artwork for the personal use of the patron, and will be properly credited. When I finish your piece, it belongs to you, and you may post it online or print out as you please. If you do not want me to post it on my FurAffinity gallery page, I need notice before work begins. As the creator of the artwork, I will be properly credited, where appropriate. If the artwork is to be used for any purpose other than personal display (i.e. display on your gallery of personal art, online or otherwise), I will be notified. Use of my art for other purposes, including commercial gain (i.e. making money by selling posters of my work), is possible, but it must be worked out with me beforehand. I do not want to find out about this after the fact, and I will not be friendly about it.
This journal will be updated with additional Rights and Responsibilities, as the need arises heeeeeerng.
