The only thing I can suggest is Oc 1.1, but you probably knew of that already.

I haven't used OC in ages, actually. I only used it for a collaboration drawing once or twice in the past, but that's it.

Maybe I should fiddle around with the Livestream Procaster for a bit, I know it saves copies on the site, probably also on the HDD if I allow it to.

You can change the settings so that it only saves to your harddrive

I use livestream's procaster

To record. I use Painttool Sai to draw in.

CamStudio with Xvid mpeg4 codec, ~45min = ~100mb give or take. Top notch quality

No! Camstudio sucks so bad.

Why?

It's incredibly slow, buggy, and eats your recordings if they get too big.

I tried to use it, I tried to fix it, then I gave up and moved on.

Only ones I know of are Procaster, which is overkill if you're not streaming; Cam Studio which I haven't used recently, and ManyCam 3 which I don't have any experience with when it comes to recording the desktop. There is FRAPS but I don't know if that can record the desktop in general, as it's usually used to record video games.

Recording? Hmm.. aside from fraps... you could do something like U-stream which records it for you?

Livestream Procaster is pretty good, i like their software a lot, even if you're not streaming.
