Tails for Hire
So I was poking around my fursuiting endeavors last night (which didn't get very far--between the cat pouncing on the fabric every two seconds and me being generally too braindead to think) I was looking with a fair amount of pride at my tail (the only part I've finished satisfactorially) and was wondering.....
....If I made custom tails for people, would that be something you'd be interested in? I'll post pics as soon as I can get my film developed. I've only done two so far, a thylacine tail for myself and a ferotter tail for Pyro's Halloween costume, but I've been really happy with how both turned out.
I was thinking about $25 for a standard tail? That'd cover fur & shipping + give me just a little on the side. With my current ability I think I could do just about any kind of standard canine/feline/etc. tail, probably nothing really elaborate like a squirrel or skunk that'd require a harness, but I can learn.
My tail is about 3-foot wire armature, stuffed and furred, so it's stiff but has a certain amount of wag to it (since it's a thylacine tail, which aren't very flexible). It has a loop to thread a belt through. Pyro's tail was about a foot, stuffed and subtly weighted to give it more bounce and a greater wag, also with a belt loop. When worn, they hang at just the right height to make them seem to originate from the end of the tailbone ;)
Anyway. Just figured I'd poll for interest--would you commission a tail, if I started doing them?
*will try to get pics up soon*
