It has surprisingly little to do with ponies though. It does have quite a bit with allowing me to relive many of my favorite nostalgia moments, whether it be the cheeseball goodness of the 1980s Transformers and G.I. Joe cartoons, the probably coke-fueled antics of a young Robin Williams in Mork and Mindy, of the '90s Batman animated series, AKA one of the best things ever made by humans.

My most recent HUB happiness comes from 2008 nostalgia, with them (re)airing the "Transformers: Animated" series. Even better that it's available in widescreen HD, though it wasn't in it's original Cartoon Network airing (even though it was created in widescreen.) TF:A is kind of a divisive show, being kinda light and cartoony as an alternative to the Michael Bay movies, and many 'serious' fans didn't like that. All I know is, while I wasn't sure about the series starting out, I was totally sold at this moment:

Hypomelanism. 'tis a real thing, and actually rather prized in the exotic pet trade. But along with things like piebald, it's not noticed much in humans unless it happens in darker skinned communities. They also could have just adopted.

True adoption is an option, as I am just that. Both my parents are white.
Also I've heard of recessive traits of an african showing up in white couples or vice versa.

Well yeah, that too. Lighter skin seems to be recessive in general... But yeah, black parents can also have white kids through the hypomelanism mutation, and white parents can have a black kid through the hypermelanism mutation. Though the latter usually just gets called melanism in the pet trade or when it happens with big cats to create black panthers.

I have DirecTV but let me tell you, when I had the HUB for free and not on the Premium Package, I watched it every chance I could. Even like the new Pound Puppies and saw what I was missing from THAT series. Shooot, that shit is good.

Yeah...after Beast Machines, RiD, the Unicron Trilogy, and the 07 movies, we all kinda needed TFA to remind us that Transformers can sometimes actually be, y'know, GOOD.

I have yet to get around to watching ponies, though I have been enjoying some of the cool stuff the fandom has churned out, but back when I was watching TV, the Hub gave me some Batman Beyond. My personal favorite of the various batmanz.

I prefer TF shows that are fun, and with the fact TFPrime seems to be struggling others likely do to; which is why I like Animated and Rescue Bots.

The HUB is probably one of the best channel projects to ever come out. To me after Cartoon Network started to go down the tubes the HUB was a relief for all the reasons you list EWS.

Heh I disliked Transformers Animated purely because of its art style... though Thrill of the hunt won me over and made me a fan despite that ^.=.^ Medic's can be hardcore when they want to be ^^

But yes the hub is awesome. all must respect its might.

I miss having access to The Hub.. I never did get around to my own nostalgia bomb...I did catch several episodes of G.I.Joe tho; oh the sweet sweet burning nectar of nostalgia.. XD

It's because as the HUB was developed they knew they ad to make a good impression and put out good programs to keep the channel afloat at all, but they decided to be more than good. YES. ponies. glorious. and Soundwave from Prime is the most intimidating thing I have ever seen in a kid's show in a good while.

Going back even older school, Dreamworks SKG is in the process of creating their own cartoon cable channel. It seems they've purchased Classic Media who holds the rights to the Filmation and Rankin-Bass libraries. This enhances their prior purchase of the Harveytoon library and Golden Series (that includes all of the Golden Books for kid). All of these properties would form the basis of the new network. Of course, they'd supplement that with their own series of cartoons developed from their movie products: Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon, Puss-n-Boots, Megamind, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, etc. And, as they work closely with Aardman Animations (Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep) there might be some more stop-motion series in the works, as well.

Couple of things, one general, one personal, that you might want to keep an eye out for.

A french animation studio has managed to pull out one of the classic 80s cartoons, and made Three New 26 episode series. Yessir.. The Mysterious Cities Of Gold is back, and this time, The Golden Condor has Afterburners. 8)

As for me, Im afraid to say Im going stark raving totally completely mad, and hope to finish and post up in the next couple of days, a fanfic crossover.

I collected one of every character from TF: Animated in toy form and I'm still proud that I got to support the show in that way and to pick up the DVDs and art almanacs. It was so much fun and I'm still sad that it didn't get renewed. Fast forward to after my love for MLP was in full effect and the voice actor Tara Strong was now my favorite voice talent, and THEN going back to TF: Animated and hearing that voice, realizing that she was there all along...

Priceless.

I don't watch Prime and don't have the money to collect toys anymore, but I'm happy I got to support that project.

Batman The Animated Series - give me a HELL YEAH! Best thing to have come out of WB Animation. It is no coincidence that the Batman games from RockSteady use the voice actors from that series above any other. Transformers Prime is amazing as well.

I like the Hub, too- very much so. If I could just remove (rip out with extreme prejudice) anything, it would be 1) Aquabats Super Show- Who the hell let AS in there!? 2) those teeth grinding annoying "Huboom" bumpers. I mean seriously, I already had enough cheep cartoon edit bumpers from CN. But other than that, Yeah, I like it very much. :3
