Um.... how do I reply to shout?

This one goes out to uni_laocorn.
Eeeeeto... boku no nihongo wa jiozunoga arimasen neh.
Literal Translation: "Uhhh... The fact that I am good at japaneese does not" exist. (I'm trying to be humble, hee hee!) Now for a translation for what I said earlier about viruses... some terms that some may not be familiar with.
The sense of single stranded DNA or RNA means how it can be read my certain machinery in an animal cell. Positive sence means that's it's ready to be translated to protiens and animo acid chains right out of the gate. Now if the Positive sense RNA is copied by attaching compliment molecules (neucleotides) then you get a negative sense strand. It's the miror image of the RNA or DNA and needs to be recopied, in some way, to positive sence before it can use the machinery of the cell to make viral products. Ambi sense simply means the DNA or RNA contains portions of BOTH positive sense and anti-sense genetic information... the replication of THAT is a bit more complicated. Finally, I don;t mention double stranded DNA or RNA becuase it already has both, one side is positive sence, so in order to have a double stranded molecule you have to have the anti-sence on the other side. Clear as mud?

In public, replying in the other person's journal works... except that I think it's rude to other people who are reading it, since it seems like your comments come from nowhere. Replying by shouting on one's own page is common enough to be unembarrassing -- it assumes the person is going to check back, which may or may not be true (but was in my case).
Also, a polite phrase you can use to turn down a compliment is, "iie, tondemonai desu." Yeah, I was surprised that 'nai' is part of it, too; and not 'arimasen' or even 'de gozaimasen', but that's keigo for you --;=P
