Character vs RL self, moral questions

So here's a question that has floated around in my mind for a while now, ever since I started RPing I suppose and really fleshed out my characters for use in RP and online interaction. I've answered it for myself, but I'm more curious on how others feel about it as well.
Your morals and ethics IRL, do they affect your character's behaviour much, or at all? Do your characters follow the same laws of guidance, and if so, how strictly? For example, I am a Christian and I fully believe in the 'no sex until marriage' thing. I am saving myself, and my characters do as well. One of those firm lines I draw (one of the very few) is that I will NOT have my characters mount and engage in 'mating' or sex with anyone. Now this may confuse many, since my characters have been seen doing sexual things, or being mounted, etc. They've been involved in sexual situations, but never the actual act of sex or mating.
Some other examples would be of religious beliefs or traditions towards food. If you're into vore, do you only eat 'kosher' foods still? If you don't eat pork IRL, are you willing to eat a porcine character online?
Curious, what are the thoughts of others? How closely does your online life reflect on your real life?

In terms of how I portray my fursona, that's more complicated since he's a representation of me, but also has his own quirks and personality. *nomnompeanuts*

Any other character I play may be less inclined to make decisions like I would though.
"Well, here's a question, just for the sake of asking. Vore... as pred, you 'kill' someone. Thoughts? Im sure you can figure on where Im heading with this. Murder, death, etc. The morality of taking a life to sustaining your own?"

if it is the one that is more human-ish, then definitely
Personally, I dont feel it carries the same meanings and closeness as sex sex. Im not about to get close enough to someone IRL to have anal sex, this is true, but I dont leave it outside the realms of possibility for my online characters.
Also, this is somewhat related, but anal sex does not make a person 'gay' in my eyes, either. Putting toys up your butt does not mean you like to have guys hump you as well. There are big differences in a lot of things that many people take for granted or don't look into more closely. The human body is rigged with pleasure centers, nerves that you can't escape, but just because someone might enjoy feeling fingers or toys up their hiney doesnt mean they're automatically gay or want dudes more than chicks.

Sex is more than just pleasure though.
At least, so I see it. Obviously there are many views on what sex is, isn't, and should be. I know there are many people that simply see all forms of sex as simple pleasure, a fun time to be had by anyone. Its even a hobby or a profession for many. Why go to a movie for fun when you can invite a buddy over and have sex? But that mentality is the complete opposite of my own.
Sex is meant to be reserved, its meant to be special, it carries meanings and implications far deeper than 'ur purdy, why don we go screw?'
Sure people can derive pleasure through other means, but this is besides the point. Sex is only more than pleasure and babies if you make it up to be. In the same way, I see kissing as something I'd only want to do with someone I love. I wouldn't want to do it with any friend or person-of-interest. But its only because I choose not to.
But there are things that separate us from beasts. Well, most of us. And maybe thats just a comforting thought in order to keep us going, believing that there is more to our existence than reproduction and mindless fucking, but at least it keeps us going.
Aside from that, engaging in sex with the person you've been saving yourself for is more than just pleasure. Its a show of your dedication, and love, for that single person in all the world. Its a pretty firm statement that you find that person to be special above all else, and are willing to give up something 'sacred' for that person alone. Not all feel the same was as me, obviously, but such is how I see it. To each their own, Im not trying to preach and say everyone is wrong except me, but I will admit that Im pretty much disgusted with the idea of recreational sex.

If saving yourself from the act of sex for someone special is what you wanna do, then feel free. Provided it's what -you- want. Though I have to wonder what happens when people get divorced and re-marry. :|a
