was working at my new job as SONIC, and was a 3-10 shift, at around 9:45 a co worker asked that i clean behind our grill before i leave so i pull it out just enough for me to get behind it, (which isnt much)

and noticing there was a lot of grease under it and went to go get the mop and fresh water. i come back and there are a few people standing around the grill looking at the back, i hear the word 'fire' not like a panic more like "uh is that supposed to be on fire" so i throw down the mop yell " FIRE EXTINGUISHER!" run to get the silver, 'special fire" extinguisher, and straight up go and spray it out. wait a few seconds and it re ignites. so im keeping it out and told my manager to get in when i stop spraying and turn the gas off. was a pretty thrilling and scary experience but i dealt with it out of instinct and my training from high school...
