500! 500 I say! Now we all can rejoice.

This is my head.
500! 500 I say! Now we all can rejoice. I now have 500 watchers on FA (at this moment). I would have hit that number months ago but it kept dropping every time it got near. Maddening I say.
veralix is the guilty one to reach the 500th spot. I'll have to something for him sometime for being the lucky vict... visitor. Not idea as of yet though.
I waited to hit that magic 500 mark to make a proclamation. Undoubtedly, most of you will be happy to hear that I'm officially announcing that I'm restarting my 3D efforts. That's right, I'm back! A number of you asks when I go back to my 3D work. Well, now you know. I already began messing around with a couple of 3D programs, namely Zbrush and Mudbox.
I love the tools in Zbrush but he interface is beyond horrible. I keep getting stuck in 2.5D mode and it won't let me back into 3D even though I follow th help page. It just stays greyed out. Frustrating to the core. And the bad GUI on top of it makes it even worse. Hardly use the left mouse button and no scroll wheel function I can tell (would be ideal to zoom and out). Plus the model gets 'stretched' and distorted if I modified it too much. I simple cure is to have a maximum face size while working. Oh well, might go back to it.
Mudbox interface is a bit better. Basically a standard layout instead of trying to make it too pretty like Zbrush. Mudbox doesn't have nearly the amount of tools as Zbrush but still quite powerful. It also suffers from excess distortion from modifying a spot too much. One glaring omitted feature is copying objects or faces. A huge error as it makes modeling a pain. I guess it's meant to modify and existing model than creating one from scratch. But still a very useful feature to have.
Despite this I made a decent dragon head model pretty quick in Mudbox. I have some screenshots on my Flickr page here http://www.flickr.com/photos/26337284%40N06/ . I'll post some of it and more on FA later. Keep an eye out.
I plan to mess with Mudbox some more and next intend to make a simple model in 3ds max and import it. Hopefully that'll work out better than trying everything in Mudbox.
So what you all think? I know most of you watch me for my 3D work since my 2D stuff gets woefully ignored. Hopefully this will bring the masses back into the fold. Don't make me hunt you all down one by one. Takes too much time.
