Yep, I am! It's a pretty big deal, as I've never moved before, nor have I traveled, really! I'd probably be more excited about it, though, if I didn't have to pay an enormous 5-digit tuition bill next month for my boyfriend x_x

Haha, in a way, it's almost a relief to get rid of the money. Almost. I've never had NO money before, but whether I have lots of money or I have little money, I've always loathed working with it and handling it and managing it. I just hate money. So at least now I won't have to worry about what I should or shouldn't spend it on ;P Haha. It'll all be going towards rent and food, I'm guessing, and saving up for NEXT year's tuition!

Maybe it's good you haven't traveled much, because it will make this experience even more meaningful. :3 The only foreign country I've visited was Mexico (which wasn't all that... exciting), so I know if I visited Scotland, I'd be overwhelmed. That's quite the large tuition bill though, wow.

I had when I was younger, we moved from a city to my grandpa's when I was about five while our house was being built. Then, 14 years later, we moved this summer. It was kinda hard, but I at least had my girlfriend there at the time, so it helped. So in the answer to your question, yes and no pretty much lol. But yeah, you two will have each other and I hope that'll be enough support between you both, having each other, and like I said, hope it goes well!

oh, sorry, no, I meant I lived in that house for fourteen years, took a year or so to build it cause of winter, so yeah, it was still hard to move

No job lined up yet. I nearly quit the job 6 months in because Kindle owners who call in are generally assholes to put it mildly. Most of the troubleshooting is very simple stuff like restarting it or replacing it because the thing would be broken for whatever reason and the more difficult stuff is mainly wireless troubleshooting. Wi-Fi being one of the worst because people still don't comprehend that because their computer connects to wifi fine, doesn't mean their Kindle will. There's constant arguing with me on something as basic as restarting the router which 9 times out of 10 fixes the issue. The other times are generally configuration issues. There's an easy way to tell a Kindle that has a failing wifi modem... it won't display it's MAC address :P I always check that first.

Anyway, ya and I get to do all that in a 10.5 minute handle time goal. I never meet it and they can fire you for that. Plus now I'm stuck on the 4 10 hour shifts in the work week which I took only because I am or..now was.. a permanent chat associate. I'm so not someone who can talk to people constantly THAT long out of the day. They're also not going to hire anyone new for Kindle support and we're pretty busy as is and 4th quarter is the worst time so we can expect back to back calls all day and night really. But ya basically what happened is they hired enough outsourcers who get paid per chat they handle instead of a flat hourly rate like me so we are no longer 'needed' and not 'cost effective' despite the fact our team set the standards for chat and identified as well as combat the fraud some people were doing using fake or stolen serial numbers and getting free replacements. that's the thanks we got. :P I've seen outsourcers talk. In their native languages they're fine I'm certain but their English is horrible. Not a good thing when you're only allowed to provide English support.

But yes, I'm sick of getting dicked over. They were not supposed to be able to roll us back out of our positions. They either let you apply to another position or throw you on work from home. Our retail chat team got that option. like 1 or 2 went home. Naturally, being as how I've really wanted work from home, they're not giving us the option. :P So screw them... I'm doing my best not to just act rash and up and quit. With a manager who knew about this well in advance did not bother to give us any advance warning to apply for the positions that were currently open. There were 2 chat teams hiring I could have gone to but figured I'd be a 'team player' and stick with my current team. Bad move.

In regards to my art, it's not really progressing. I'm still very much stuck on where to put light and shadow on my figure despite knowing where the light source is. I also think my blending is sucking again. Sure would be frigging nice though if I could advance in this stuff enough to pay my bills. Soooo tired of going in doing jobs I don't like to do at all.

Yeah. I mean, I may not be particularly good with electronics, but Casey is, at least, and even when we don't know something, we usually check online first before bothering some customer service person about it.

Talking to people 40 hours a week sounds horrific. I can hardly go a few hours of socializing without getting a sore throat, haha. But yeah, I'm sure you get plenty of horribly stupid customers. A friend of mine works as a 911 operator, basically, and he gets some fairly ridiculous calls...

I find what helps is thinking of most parts of a figure to be parts of cylinders or spheres. Like, a skinny leg or a muscular leg are basically the same, except the muscular one has extra little "mini cylinders" creating the bumps of muscles on it.

Jeez... that's quite the move! Best of luck with it! If it's any consolation, I feel your pain... Moved from Utah to Africa, back to Utah, and now I'm moving out to California... in 3 days... and still have a shitton to do! Kinda dropped off the face of the planet for the past two weeks as I try to finalize packing, and of course, spend time as much time with friends and family before the big d-day.

lol, I think moving to Africa is a much bigger deal - every day life can't be terribly comparable to what it was like in Utah :b I guess it depends where exactly in Africa, but still! At least Canada -> UK is still staying within western-type first-world civilization. Other than all the stress associated with moving, are you looking forward to moving back to the states, or are you kind of sad? I'd miss working with the lions!

heh, sorry about the belated response... Didn't really have much time at all to get on my computer during the whole moving thing. But, I'm successfully moved and unpacked in Cali now, so that's one less thing to worry about... now the stress of trying to start a new life out here... eeesshh!

But yeah, Africa was about as 180 degrees different as you can imagine, especially where I was... A private game reserve in the middle of absolutely -nowhere- in the middle of Zimbabwe! I don't miss it at all, but you're right... I miss my lions terribly! I had a pride of 12 that I was working with for several hours every day, and a total of 96 captive lions that I got to work with just as regularly. I couldn't stand the lonliness and isolation that I had to deal with out there, which is why I ended up coming back... but my god, working with those lions was absolutely incredible. Can't ever have your cake and eat it too, can ya?

Anyway, I hope things for your own move are going well, I imagine that you're getting into that 'frantic crackdown' phase of things yourself. Best of wishes with that.. and with settling in to your new home! I've been there... so I'll be thinking of ya!

I don't think I could have handled the heat, but the isolation would probably have been okay :b I really only need to be around my fiance to mostly satisfy my social needs, especially if I had a bunch of lovely animals to keep me company (even if they're not the same as pets or companions, obviously).

Yeah, I was really lonely and -really- missing my boyfriend at the time Had I had someone there, it wouldn't have been half as bad... but being on my own was pretty damn rough.
