I always had a liking for dinosaurs. When I was little I had a lil stuff t-rex plushie (still have it) and considered it my favorite saur.

Then Jurassic Park rolled its head around and I <3;d the raptors.

I've thought of myself as both a predator and prey type.

While one is aggressive and strong, the other can defend and is watchful.

So that's when I choose both the deer and mountain lion. Thus combining the two.

I just always liked birds, so when I started doing a comic it was just the obvious choice; they have big, simple-shaped faces too, which makes them easy to identify with.

also, no one freaking ever draws birds. every now and then, but like one in a hundred or something

My two cents to try to explain that, are feathers :3 A furry character can easily been drawn because you can draw fur shape in a simple line. However, feathers, specially if you keep wings in your character, can be a nightmare to draw because they're really detail and people tends to be lazy :]

I picked a coyote because when i was really really little out on my granddad's ranch i was sitting out playing in the dirt when out of no where this puppy came up. I started playin with it when a bigger one came up, grabbed the puppy and walked off right before my grandma ran up and grabbed me up and took me into the house. turns out that i had been playin with a coyote pup.

I was on a river trip at the Suwannee River down in Florida. I kinda had time to myself and I saw an akward looking post that was next to a tree, and it looked like there was a nest on top of it. Well, I decided to climb that tree and see what was in it. There, I found 3 chicks there, and they all were looking at me, chirping. This filled me up with a lot of joy in my heart, being this close to birds I didn't even know much about. But I had to climb down because I heard a more violent chirp off in the distant, I didn't know where it was, but I knew it was the chicks guardian. I eventually came to find out that they were Ospreys, and when I heard about the fandom, I decided to have Ozawk, an osprey anthro, to represent me as a furry.

Seriously Skifi.... where do you come up with these concepts? @_@

pues antes que empezara a dibujar cree un personaje de rpg, en el juego habia que tirar dados para determinar una cualidad y una desventaja para el personaje, como ventaja me salio que era sigiloso y como desventaja que los perros le ladraban si se acercaba a 5m de uno (el personaje era ladron, asi que era muy inconveniente)
Luego habia que escoger el apodo del personaje, y basandome en sus caracteristicas le puse BlackCat, y ese fue mi nick por mucho tiempo, entonces cuando empece a dibujar firmaba con ese nombre, eventualmente me dibuje con gatos negros y luego como un gato negro (que no se parece en nada al personaje de ahorita).
El personaje fue cobrando forma, pero fue hasta que descubri "lo furry" que lo diseñe mejor. En teoria tenia que ser negro, pero igual que tu, decidi mejor no hacerlo asi porque no lo iba a poder pintar, asi que fue gris con pelo negro y siempre trato de mantenerlo viendose como yo, asi que seguro se me complicara todo cuando me haga viejo jajaja.

Si se te hace viejo, la ventaja es que no tienes que añadirle las canas porque los gatos con pelo negro no se vuelven grises XD;;

Bueno, yo he jugado a muchos juegos de Rol, asi que se como es el proceso ;D De hecho, tengo que tener los dados de 20, 10 y hasta de 100 por algun sitio...

I was on the internet one day and i saw a TV documentary about snow leopards.
When i googled it, i got to know more and more about them. In the fandom sneppids aren't so much chosen,

Then i added a collar i owned, and the piercings i wanted, the clothes i so adored and then added the game i loved (and still do btw) to play: SSX 3/on tour
I added the capoeri fighting style after playing tekken 5 with Chirstie *i always pick the female fighters...* Since i love music, it fitted like a glove.

My fursona is more about what i dream to be/have/do. the ideal me.

Then it's made of wishes and things you like or you want to become ^___^

Ive always loved dragons, since I can remember.

But, I'm pretty fickle, and end up liking other species/traits a lot quite often. Always comes back to the dragon eventually, but being able to use the other species etc is something I wanted without having something silly like 20 different characters.

So I simply gave Skie the ability to change his form on a very granular level. I'm pretty picky with certain things, or just flat out hate others, so I tend to mix & match the things I like into each new 'form', hence my current Lion/Dragon hybrid. (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1176858/) I try to keep the dragon tattoo across forms to tie them all back to skies 'natural' draconic form (I only really have a Naga-Snake-Dragon as well as the Lion and Dragon forms, with art for just the Lion currently)

Even more after reading some other replies to this journal and how other people has creatures with mixed species, and many other ways of customization to make them fit their wishes and expectations :3

I chose mine because I liked the goldie of the bald eagle, and because I'd been inerested in birds for life, and finally, because my parents called me "Eaglebird" when I was young. ;>

Began as a simple rottweiler but then i was like it needs a long lizard tail cuz i like it like dat, and its head and jaw should be simple so i could draw him without frustration and thus arkum the weird dog lizard thingy came into creation.

Doesn't sound like a bad evolution :3 Besides, if your drawing techinques get better, and you think you can draw heads and jaws better, you can add more details to the design later :]

i've collected dragon objects since i was little so the only logical character for me would be a dragon. i drew her as a fox for a few months because i couldnt figure out how to draw a dragon. she's gone through atleast 5 major appearence changes, and she's looked almost exactly like she does now as of...3ish years ago? she's green because it's my all time favorite color, blue skin because a friend at school told me that only true hardcore reptiles have blue tongues, stripes cause i like them and uh...i can't really think of much else. i just tried to think of characteristics that i thought were neat and a little out of the ordinary.

Eh, I've just loved dragons since I was a little nipper, especially oriental ones because of their lithe bodies and fluffy faces. It was when Spirited Away came out though that I truly fell in love with them, to see them drawn by the master Miyazaki himself was too wonderful! And so my choice of character species was made; simple as that really! Cant say I'd ever change either!

I guess the very first oriental dragons were, the ones shown in Dragon Ball.... and maybe the little Fujur on \"Neverending Story\" the movie :]

I went with wolf because it's always appealed to me the strongest. Over the years, I've come to realize that, in habit or personality, I resemble your typical wolf, which only reinforces my opinion that having a wolf fursona suits me.

... Well, I chose the Minotaur because it was the story of Theseus and the Minotaur, that awakened my sexuality and made me realize that I was gay~! I borrowed the book, read the story, and a few days later, had my first wet dream, and yes... it involved the Minotaur. I kept that a secret for a long time, and it wasn't till the internet and my first Mac ( a Performa in 1995) that I stumbled upon the internet and discovered that other guys were turned on by the bull headed hunk. Then I discovered the furrydom, and met a certain, cute, adorable, and very sexy Skifi!~ Mooooooo!~

Well, I have nothing solid. I have gone through the thoughts of the stereotypical ones (wolf, house cat, cheetah, dragon, lion, dog).
I want something fairly unique though.

I was thinkin' Lynx at one point, but my IRL build doesn't really take to that (I'm 6'4").

I could join you as a bull. ^^ But that would defeat the purpose of trying to pick something unique, I would think.

I chose Cat because I kinda fall into it. It started with portraying myself as human with a cat-like tail, then I added the ears and continued until I ended up with a Cat anthro. The color has fluxuated (various shades of blue/teal for the fur, pretty much the entire color spectrum for the hair at one point or another). I also had wings for about a year or so, but they've gone by the way-side as of late.

Every so often I'll try to create a new 'sona, but I keep coming back to the blue cat.

Then, if you feel so comfortable with the blue cat, why to change? :3 You could only need to improve the design instead :]

It all started in elementary school when I had a love for cats. It was the only animal of the basic American house hold (which in my mind included dogs, cats, fish, and birds- i knew any rodent was out of the question due to my mom) that I wasn't allowed to have. I guess in a way, it was my own form of rebellion. At first my character wasn't really a fursona, more of a super hero that I had created (think of the world that  ebonyleopard created with Extinctioners (but that is another story))

As time passed, i went to middle school where our mascot was a Black Panther. I thought it was the neatest thing since panthers were more agressive than cats (again, never met a cat that wasn't friendly until later in life). Thus, since I still had a thing for furries at the time (of course not knowing what a furry was), I adopted this animal as my fursona.

I kept her as a black panther until college where... I must have had her dipped in some bleach by accident, and decided to turn her white. By the end of college I decided the plain white was too... well... plain, at which point, I added the blue stripes that you see on her now-albeit there were more stripes, in a tiger like pattern over her body, but again as time passed (and more pictures were drawn) the simpler the better became the norm.

Ironically the longer I stay in the fandom, and the more people I hang out with that considers their fursona as more of an avatar than "animal spirit", the more she has become an avatar for myself and an individual character. Hence why now I do not consider myself a furry, but rather an anthropomorphic artist who has an avatar.

Yeah, you don't need to consider yourself an animal to draw antro art, don't you think? ^^

It seems your character has matured over the years, and the same than the outside look has evolved, I guess there are other characteristics than maybe evolved too.... the clothes you use to draw it, the kind of complements, whatever ^^ Having kept it for so many years, surely gave you the chance to experiment a bit and also try some changes, even if as you said about the stripes, you usually set things simple, even if original :]

I came up with drag, god I think 10 years ago? originally he was a chubby blue cat, but then quickly evolved into what he is now :P he's mostly a regular dragon, except he has no wings. hs colors have changed more times than I care to think about XD but most recently changed from red/gold to black/neon green, which I think was... two years ago. I choose the black and green because they're the colors on my favorite pair of super baggy pants CX

Chemical, the bounce bounce dragon was invented a fateful night some time in 2004...her play had too much to drink, and was doing a metroid prime replay for ghits and shiggles. Suddenly it dawned at me, phazon is hawt. Phazon is radioactive...but...biologically radioactive...why not a biohazardous dragon?

Ohhh character wise, alot is the same...havn't changed anything up on my self, tho the personalities quite different then 4 years ago.

For my part, I took this all furry-character-being stuff extremely serious. At the time I found the fandom, I first stayed outside, watching furries and the fandom from the side. After almost an year, I finally got to say "Ok, you can call me a Furry!". In this year, I also had the time to chose my species, which I also took very serious.
My favorite animals were dragons and wolves. But instead of chosing one of them, I asked many close friends around for how they see me and my character, and also analyzed myself very critically. According to this, I looked at the distinctive traits and clichés of all known animals and finally chose my species. No, it wasn't a dragon, nor wolf. But I found being a dog mostly appropriate and.. here I am: a dog! :)
All decisions were based on traits. This is why I never defined a Look for my character, untill it was necessary for a character sheet. Finally, I decided to take colors and look according to my inner character.

Nobody told me directly that I'm like a dog, I just asked for how they would describe my behaviour / character. The answers were like adherent, loyal, dutiful, but also sometimes clumsy, lazy or crafty. And so I decided that this characteristics would best fit in being a dog. I think that everyone around me can better tell what I'm alike than I can, and yep, down to the present day I'm glad and pretty sure with my decision. :)
(Ok, sometimes I guess "Fox" would better fit, but just because of one big cliché the foxes have.. ;) )

I know I didn't meet you at the early stages, when your character was more a kangaroo than a dingo, but I don't know if that's part of this same story, or if that was a fully different character even if wearing the goggles and also the 4 yellow shirt. (:3 This, taking a look at your old pictures available (not so many, by the way).

I would have sworn green skin came from Bowser, but to get to know it's from Ed, Edd and Eddy, hahaha, I was not expecting that. The nose, the bushy eyebrows, and the tail, I think those are evolutions I was able to see myself from the start. And the next design updates, I guess I'll be able to see them too, I hope XD;;;

If I get to think about skifi, then I could say the earring was added there by Magnus, the tail swirl was there because of the design updates you and I planned together, the long elastic tail because you said it would be cool if I had some kind of magic or special ability, and the wrist bracelet, because that's the one I got back in 2005, looking like the one I gave you in my first visit XD;; Aaaaand, I think I got orange skin because of Carnival, and your colored penis idea, lmao.

Used to do piss-poor RPs as a red dragon videogame character. At some point I got fur. Not entirely sure why at this point. But it was bad-ass and I liked it so I kept it. Then I got my own name. And porn. There you have it.

I actually think it's a pretty nice combination, a big fuzzy dragon who's equally likely to try and do obscenities with you or rub up against you and expect attention. Rawrrr. Fuzzy.

Though, if I were an animal, I can't really see myself as anything *but* a cat. I act a lot like one, and I've never gotten along well with dogs. I like them enough.. until I realize that they smell, need too much attention, and get overexcited.

I've always been fascinated with animals that survive in the extreme cold. Arctic foxes, hares, puffins, seals, penguins, and most importantly, polar bears! I just picked one of those that I felt like I was the most similar to. I chose a polar bear!

Hahaha, I hate to draw hooves because I suck when doing it, and my character is a bull, so nyah XD;;

Well, my first real fursona was a cat named Achesha Cat. Both because at the time I had a very devoted cat of my own and for my accidental habbit of walking up to people so quietly that they jump out of their skins when they finally see me, out of the corner of their eyes. His more formal name was Achesha Crystalfur. At exactly what point he became Chris the mouse, I'm not really certain.

I've always loved mice. My favorites include the characters from "The Rats of NIHM", Reepicheep from The Chronicles of Narnia, Stuart Little, and Gadget Hackwrech from the Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers. The most likely point for my fursona's transformation is, in fact, a Gadget fan fiction I was working on at the time, though there are a couple of other possibilites. Originally, Chris wore a pair of glasses with yellow lenses, but when I saw this:

The color became a pair of marks around his eyes, then just the one. Something about the pattern just yanked me around by the eyeballs.

He's actually changed very little since then. He's just gotten more detailed as my skills improved. The biggest change came when I met  UniPrae The drawing I did for  Skifi 's one contest was the most openly suggestive drawing I'd ever done. My last couple of drawings of Chris were even more sensual, all thanks to Prae.

I'm curious, what kind of changes did your fursona get when you met  uniprae ? You don't mention them but they sound like important ones :3

They were. After I met  UniPrae, Chris was transformed until he was as beautiful on the outside as his soul is on the inside. I don't want to go into too much detail here, for two reasons. The first is that I'm in the middle of writing a series of stories about exactly how Chris was changed after meeting  UniPrae 's fursona, Goldie, and I don't want to spoil anything. I really wish I could have them translated so you could read them.

The second is that I'm still a little shy talking about it in any detail, in an open forum, because I don't want people making bad assumptions about him. He's one of those people where you'll miss out on why he's such a special person, if you're too busy trying to judge him. If anything, it's allowed him to be even more openly caring and empathic than he used to be.

I don't really remember when I came to the conclusion of my character being a cabbit, I doodled it a lot in high school, a creature with bunny ears and a long tail and eventually after I saw Tenchi Muyo I started using the term cabbit for it hehe, even though the character design isn't similar at all.

Well, as I have read so far in this journal entry, there are many, many character designs being something to start with but actually 200% different than the first concept XD;;;

I began as a wolf out of a love for the animal, but later on found myself drawn to the amazing little fennec fox due to a number of traits they shared that I found in myself; big ears, energetic, small, a bit jittery, playful, and covered in fur. I also found some similar traits when studying fox totems, and while I don't necessarily believe in all-out totemism, it got my imagination going and... well, here I am :D

So do you define yourself as small, playful, and energetic? ^_____^ Then it seems to be the kind of character matching your real person

I had a fursona before I knew what species it was. It looked ...well... generic furry shaped before I decided to slap her into a more precise form.
After watching a documentary on them, I chose the extinct thylacine to be the fuzzy half of my half dragon fursona. I'd loved dragons since I was tiny, and typically root for the predators on nature shows, so I knew the fuzzy bit couldn't be a herbivore. Since the thylacine is extinct, it wouldn't matter that it was a hybrid, since it can't exist anyway. Furthermore, being a thylacine takes me away from being too generic while not changing much about the way I'm drawn. I'm a marsupial now :)
The red and black marks around my eyes are supposed to represent the crazy way I look when my allergies kick in. The socks I usually wear are to hide the scars on my ankles. The bicolored claws are supposed to be a tribute to my cat Lili, whose claw covers are purple and blue.
I guess that's about all there is to say. The monstar's evolved a bit over time, but mostly stayed the same.

Of course, fantasy creatures aside (dragons, for example), I must say I didn't think about extinct creatures to choose from (even when dinosaurs were in fashion then), hehehe. As you said, that's an option with a lot of advantages, and for sure makes you unique and original (as if it were not enough to be half/half, yeah) ^^

I think that choosing an extinct species is something that more people could consider. It's a way to show that though they're gone they're not forgotten. Even better to choose an extinct creature that we have no pictures of (unlike the thylacine) because no one can correct your color and marking choices :D

That pretty much covers it. Though I am thinking about modifying my design some by adding either tiger stripes or cheetah spots in relation to my love of the big cats.

How I chose a squirrel.....well, a friend was dragging e onto Furcadia, and I was making the character, and I asked her to pick either a feline or squirrel, and she picked squirrel, so......here my floofy-tailed arse is. ^^

No. *clings the flufftail* I likes being a squirrel. Though....through various events and etcetera and such, there have been a couple of additions of items to him. *nods* Most noticably a pair of ribbons on th' tail. And...a necklace. And a pair of gloves. *nod*

I read a book about various kinds of dragons in my hometown library, and decided to be one.

My name comes from a shirt my mom had, of dragons that looked like flowers, labeled "Snapdragons" (which is a type of flower).
So first I was Snapdragon. Then as people kept actually thinking I was a flower, it became Snap-dragon-.
Then I switched to just "Snap", pretty much everywhere....except that, being a common word, it was often taken.

Finally, when I came here, I finally decided to switch to a unique name (since snap was taken), and came up with "Snapai" as a play on both "Snap" and the Japanese honorific "-senpai" :3

Huh, I never knew about the honorific \"-senpai\", you crafty. :}

I just thought I'd trip up otaku-furs when they try to use my name in a sentence. XD

I was originally a wolf, but hey that stems from being a dog person and liking Balto and all that stuff :P
Couple of years ago I got tired of being just a wolf though. So I incorporated my wolf self into a ferret and became a wolferret. The main reason was because I -love- ferrets, but also because I certainly do have ferrety characteristics (Addicted to shinies).
The colour pattern took many hours of studying ferret colour variations and messings around in photoshop.

Well, I guess the species we choose are not only the ones we like, but also the ones we feel more related to, right? ^____^ If you have read some of the other replies to this journal entry, you surely got to know how many characters have evolved like yours, and also how many blended, mixed species were created to full the artist expectations ^____^

Yeah I think when someone stumbles into 'furry' they generally pick something they like for starters and then sometimes they move onto deeper stuff later when they get more into it. I mean, people can pick the right thing off the bat, but I also think that sometimes it depends on what age a person is when they first get into the furry culture.

well, not really for species, but I did created an alternative char, also a snow leopard called
coral. Coral has the patterns kind of of other specials, like the little bit of black around the eyes,
and the black arms and legs, sort of on foxes and raccoons. I did that since some people said
I should be a raccoon , cause of my pack rat habits, so I thought I make another char, that
would have a hint of raccoon in it, but otherwise mostly snow leopard :). But if you wanna get deeper
down to things, I can just go into the story of a species I created, who are dual body users, which

But there is another story before. Back before I knew what I was. I played this and that, then
played around RP as a shape shifter. One day I though, snow leopard :o, but, then, I was like
hmmm, snow leopard...... and then :O i didn't want to change into anything else again, so I
stuck with just snow leopard. It found me, and stuck lol. It also fills who I am, as I am a
cold environment kind of person. I like to blend in. Shy, or at least in person lol. Cat like, in
reflexes. All the chars I had before i played was always grey too, and had big tails lol. And
it also fit the name I declared myself to use, Solus, which represents the kind of animal that a
snow leopard is. So yeah, I think snow leopard all the way lol, Been one since 2001 :o,
never thought about being another, but, don't' mind pretending to be another :) or wanting
to have a fursuit of another species. Plus, I always love the snow.

I had a tough decision about my fursona, as I technically have two. My lioness design came about when I was unfirmiliar with character design and randomly drew myself as a firey winged lion to represent myself in the western zodiac. Later I developed my dragon side because I simply adore dragons so much that I couldn't NOT be one. Now that I see dragon fursonas everywhere I turn, I'm pretty disappointed in even getting involved... I feel incredibly unoriginal and blended-in... kinda not very special-feeling. :/

Well, I have always liked your dragon fursona a lot, but, hey, if you feel that way, and you liked lions.... Is there a way to blend dragons and lions? I mean.... I have never tried it, and this comes out of nowhere, but.... cold a lion become draconized somehow? :3

Long story told in short way: At the start of my career, I wanted my internet persona to be a shape-shifter with own background and such. But eventually I found it to be more fun to just keep my character and myself separated.
Even thou I represent myself as a non-magical, that doesn't mean there wouldn't be any witty and insane situation. There are no limits between human- and furry-communities, you see.

Some people create a character and it becomes their alter-ego, some others create a character and they are fully different from them, like playing a role, or acting on the stage, for the fun ^^

When I was a kid I read a book called the animals of farthing wood and I loved fox from those stories, when the cartoon came about I made a fan character of a pretty standard fox called Zoe. I then started collecting Sylvanian Family figures and changed her to be a biped accordingly. I got Sonic the hedgehog on a Mater system too and loved that the fact that their was a fox character in it. As time went on I made her more human like and added hair and the like. Then anime and manga finally appeared in Ireland and so my drawing style evolved. I had dyed the front of my hair pink in 2000 so I gave Zoe the same hair style and have stuck with it since, the Taekwon-do aspect is very important to me as well! So she was never based on Sakura from Naruto and Sonic had little part in her evolution (I did have sonic fan characters though! I aught to draw them for the laugh!)

Hehehe, the same than real people does, characters evolve with time ^^ Your story seems to fit mine also quite well, when little life events or new styles discoveries add details, or change a lot, of the character design. The same they change ourselves, lol. For example, if you fel tlike dying your hair pink, it's normal the character representing you does the same.... and if you find out manga and like it, why not to add the style to your own personal Zoe? ^^

If you ask me, a static character never evolving, never getting a little update, is a dead character ;D

she also had a lot of scars in her first design which changed later that her tail got cut symboling all the pain and bad times I been throw.

Kitsune. I liked the idea of having a Japanese spirit as a fursona. The design is still developing, since I've only been drawing since April of last year. I'm thinking of giving him a normal animal snout and garbing him in steampunk wear.

But that's not what you asked for is it. Like I said, he's developing still, so he doesn't really have a story to be told of him yet.

Don't get too surprised if, after a first design, you start drawing it for a few months then you feel you wanna change something, add something, or customize it a bit. I have seen it happen many times with a lot of artists, and it's a sign of evolution ^^ If your kitsune is still in such an early stage, then you will see the evolution in the next months or years! :D

I've always loved wolves but like you, found that there were too many in the fandom. SO! I chose a maned wolf. They're really pretty and neat looking and their color patterns are fun. BUT since I'm not tall thin like the maned wolf, I added a timber wolf hybrid in with it. Thats why Neshiu is short stocky maned wolf. LOL! Truly unique.

My current (and permanent) incarnation.

I was a wolf previously (winged, yes the motif remains) but always felt i was just a little to...happy go lucky for a wolf. Stumbled across Ollie Canal's "Rym" setting, and read up on the Lutrai there. though otters were pretty neat, Read up about them on the internet, but that stayed shuffled in the back of my mind.


Well joined second life, and had limited money to start, ran across ::Kensuke:: 's otter avatar. That whole otter thing in the back of my mind sprung up and Whallah!!! Otter.

Story is of course not over. I always loved flying, the thought of flight, but never felt any sort of connection to any sort of avian or flying creature (like a dragon, bird, bat, etc). But always loved winged bipeds, So I added wings. Mammilian of course (something always bugged me about feathered wings on a mammal)

SO, as i like to say, I am an all-terrain otter ^_^

I don't know why, but wolves are usually under a "wild, grumpy" stereotype, I guess that's why you thought "happy" didn't fit them, hehehe. For sure, the smaller the animal is, the cutest it usually looks and the happiest the species seems to be (at least in every cartoon we have seen when we were kids, Dumbo aside) XD

Otter may not be unique, but it's quite unusual, I guess enough to satisfy your wishes, right? :3 And if you count the wings, then for sure it's a creature nobody else has, hahaha. All terrain furry :]

Otters are unusual. I noticed ferrets and other mustileds are more common.

Otters i think fit me in the context they are very playful, but otters can be quite agressive it pushed. Somwehre on the internets, there was an earth special, and it showed a pack of otters running off a crocodile. They were very fearless ^_^

Then I got confused, for sure they're courageous ;3

I tought about being "original" but then, I liked dogs so much that I said
"f* it, I do no want my characer to be a weasel" hehhehe

But there are so many dog species, you could choose the less taken one, I bet there are kinds of dogs you haven't even heard about :3

Ima labrador

Most time in fandom I've had an orca as a fursona. I think I kept it for a bit more than two years, but then I had problems expressing this alter ego artistically, as normal orcas are rather limited in movements and environment and I soon became bored with my art of it.

The main reason though was that I had more and more problems with fellow dolphin furries in the local community. There were a lot of arguments and I just felt that I didn't belong to them anymore, so our ways parted and change of fursona felt like leaving all that ruckus behind me, too.

After a year or so of inconsistency I finally settled on the ringtail. A lot of people told me I have a rather cat-like character (solitary, nocturnal, healthy ego, etc.), but I'm not a big fan of (domestic) cats. Wolves and foxes are way too mainstream as I wanted to be unique, though I loooove wolves. I tried to design various hooved alter egos, mainly deer or antelopes, but it just didn't feel right and they are complicated to draw.

I somehow stumbled upon ringtails in Wikipedia (I think) and I liked their looks as well as their cat/fox-like behaviour that fits me. They were also fun to draw, so it was a jackpot in both important aspects: the feel and the art. Well, as for the looks: most of my art is monochrome, so the grey fur felt like a logo for my art. There ain't much more I can say as I have this character for not even two months or so, lol ;D

In general I prefer species that are unique in furry fandom, and though I didn't feel they represented me properly, I feature them as protagonists in my comic. Compensating ;3

I guess sea creatures are quite limited.... Because, even if most of earth surface is water, we are too used to land and the walking creatures here ^^ However, the advantage about anthros is that you can make your character all-terrain, so that's also a good way to come back to your old orca if you feel like that someday :]

She started off as a human hybrid, in my gallery, its in there somewhere. But my mother threw away a whole binder of my art one year and I dont have anymore. there is only one picture of her like that now, drawn by a good friend of mine.

My fursona is a simple tiger furry, instead of random stripes I made it so I could count them and it'd be the same each time I drew her.
2 on the upper arms, two on the lower arms, two cheek marks, two forehead marks, 4 on her legs.
- I realized alot of people had stripes on a tigers tail, so I made her's plain without the white tip.
- I didn't want her back to be plain, but I also didnt want just random stripes. Sooo, I created a stripe pattern that forms a rose, which i havent used often, but its there.
- The one black ear thing I got from my cat, she just was cute. I lost her about 3 years ago.
-Her hair is basically like mine, I have natural highlights and its ALWAYS messy, so incorparated that as well. I plan on having my hair waist length so made sure to keep Kaeko's that length.
- I have a fetish for large toes...
- her breast are so big, cause well, when I created her I wanted to be ample and plump o.o;;; however I know realize that I have filled that catergory just about.
-I never gave her clothing cause..well...animals dont wear clothes. v.v all her fur would make her sweat to death IMO. But its fun to play dress up with certain skirts and such. The head band is just like a memoriblia of her father. (I dont know my real father, so I never allowed my character to grow up with her)
- her blue eyes, I dont know a cat with blue eyes. unless its white. But my eyes on light blue.

I have always wondered about stripped characters, and how to keep the patterns the same over and over, but seems you got a smart way to keep it and not do it wrong, my congratulations ^^

well with your character, I always was curious how you get the snout to look right on a bull or cow furry. But it seems you've managed that fine ^^ and thanks much Skifi <3 sometimes I think its too plain, but it works.

Well you met me at Otakon as "Kitty-Chan" for the longest time I've been a "demon cat" Under my Rps that was always my form. A small black cat with wings. Part demon (Nekomatta), part vamp. The pink and white came from I have NO IDEA. In my MUCH older VCL gallery I'm my own species (a dragon thing i dunno) I had that for about a year and dropped it. I moved to her with my cat, until about a year ago, when I went to the store and bought a Paleo microraptor. It was orange and other funky colors. I sat down did a few doodled, added the horns and my insane color scheme (which btw ARE NONEof my fave colors) and BOOM the LeeLee we know and love today. As a kid I LOVED (still do) Dinosawrs :B I have the entire collection of Jurasic Park, and I'd play with them up in my room, making them talk and not eat eachother, they had little stores and homes and things. (Oh God and i wondered why I didn't have any friends)
When they came out with BeastWarz I was also Dinobot (raptor) Plain and simple
DINOSARS RAWK! and I wanna be one :< oh and Shapeshiffter is just a cop out, so if I wanna be another species I can :B

Note: A TRUE microrapto was chicken sized and didn't have horns

LeeLee in feral form is 7' tall, and has horn (cause I have no idea why but I likes it)
