Red vs. Blue, Right Vs. Left, Black Vs. White...

Okay... So... Well...
Eeerm...
I just have this to say....
IS EVERYONE IN AMERICA FUCKING NUTS!?!?!?
I will try to keep this from turning into a rant... But..
Well...
What the fuck is with this whole middle school like thought process going on in the US media and peoples opinions that everything political and socially is: yes OR no, red OR blue, black OR white, liberal OR conservative, atheist OR religious, right OR left, our team OR your team?
Reading up on political things and congress is like being in elementary or preschool again with, "Na na doo doo, stick your head in poopoo... I'm going to do the exact opposite of what you do so nyah!"
Maybe I just cannot bring my thought process down to the level of the average Ameriderpican... Maybe I just have a serious problem trying to understand what is going on. Did the majority of people just give up on free thought or common sense in the last 30 years? Is there something in the tap water that makes people think that filming orange, retarded people from Jersey, is a good idea? Did someone erase the definitions of communism and socialism from all the dictionaries to show they are no longer different things?
Are all the scripts for EVERY big news channel in America written by the same person? Seriously watch all the news channels when "breaking News" happens... A huge amount of the time they will say nearly identical things, even using the same big or out of context words that no normal human would use in a daily conversation. I have been in college long enough to know when someone is taking a quote from someone else and just rearranging the words.
When comedians can do a more truthful news show than the mainstream media sources... That is pretty sad... And funny at the same time. I <3 Jon Stewart & Stephan Colbert
I now understand why the only TV I watch is movies and cartoons, because every time I spend a day watching the news channels I pop a blood vessel in my brain somewhere.
*takes a breath, and a shot of rum and whiskey.*
So... As I was saying... Not to rant or anything... But... What happened to finding a balance? A middle ground? Or looking back and going, "Humm... Things worked better back here, so lets see what would have to happen to fix things to be that way again?"
What happens when black OR white... Left OR Right... Liberal OR Conservative... Red OR Blue... Are all doing a terrible job? Isn't it time to think, "Humm... Both their shit stinks, both are failures, well crap... What side do I cheer for now?" Or do the majority keep the blinders on, and continue stumbling forward towards their collective doom?
On a side note... Has anyone started a "Logic and Common Sense" Political party yet? Oh, and when is "America The Beautiful" going to be changed to "America The Pissing Match"?

As to third party candidates, hey, take your pick out there! But sadly, there aren't enough people willing to cast their votes that way, and so, when individuals don't see a large group voting for a 3rd-party, they won't either. It's a weird redundancy thing. I did vote for a 3rd-party candidate for Governor Of California. Even though he ended up coming in dead last, I just didn't have the confidence in either of the top 2 candidates to vote for either. *shrugs*
I do wish campaign ads would be more about promoting a candidate's positive traits, rather than bashing their opponent's negative traits. Sadly, the public only wants to tune in to see a "train wreck," which also explains much of Reality TV, if you ask me.
I have been voting libertarian and independent and even, gasp... Socialist... Now and then. But I actually research the candidates before voting... But I know that popular, presidential voting is not a "one vote one count" thing, friggin' electoral colleges make sure of that, so I rarely even vote in those elections. Most of the time I just vote on the issues and measures and such since most politicians are rat bastards any way you slice em.
I wish that there was a European type standard for campaign financing in this country, where they attach an accountant to each politician that is running to make sure they don't spend more than what is considered a fair and equal amount, whether or not it is their money, or donations, they shouldn't be allowed to spend anything over a set amount... I mean, I feel like the only person that goes, "Wait a minute!!! That republican guy just raised over 400million in donations for himself and he is, at the same time, going to mention how broken the economy is? Why doesn't he put that 400million INTO the economy?!!? WTF?!?"
IT would be nice to see a politician with integrity, and just once not have them attacking "the other guy" like it is an elementary school fight over the last piece of pizza. I would like to, just once, think, "Wow... A guy that doesn't resort to kicking the other guy in the nuts to get a point across."
