It's lonely in the middle of nowhere
I've never been particularly good at locating people to be with in the first place. Now that I'm back in tiny, remote, Van, TX, the problem is multiplied. There are surely worse places to be, but there are times (such as right now) when I acutely feel my isolation, and have no idea how to resolve it. Even the nearest reasonably large population centers seem much too far away, both psychologically and practically, as I don't really have an income and can't afford to buy gas to go "out" anywhere more than a few miles away.
