I need to make a ref of myself, but bah.
What do you guys think? Please leave tips and suggestions for making a ref that is useful. I already have 'weird' and 'unique' covered.

For feral, I would say a side view, back view, and belly shot, a "pelt" of top/back and belly/bottom works well too. (Like so - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7237280/ )
For anthro, I'd say front, back, and if special markings or things to note, a side view.. or if you feel side view more pertinent, you could do a side view and not a back view. For anthropomorphic creatures, a couple expressions are good as well, just to give folks a feel for your character's personality.
Make darned sure you leave negative space for written information not easily conveyed, as well as including a color palette for folks to take from.. though I'm not very fond of references that are shaded... also, if you're using the reference online, I Strongly suggest you make/get a digital reference. It is exceedingly frustrating trying to figure out a color from a scan of a traditional piece.
I'd think a collage of various artists would make the sheet too cluttered, but perhaps instead of a few 'expressions', if there are variants to yer fluffy bum that you want folks to know about, it'd be good to include those variations or styles so folks know if something is "optional", like my goggles and cyberlox on my reference sheet. ^^
