that flash light feature dosnt help the fact that Doom3 was a mediocer game. With many annyoing spots, that didnt make much fun.

I guess ID dosnt do good games anymore ever sice John Romeo left the company back in 95 or so....

You are right, ever since Mr.Romeo left ID things have just been crumbling slowly ever since Doom3 started production. After the Master Levels production, things been going to hell. If the new Doom 4 doesnt succeed, a lot of players will be extremely disappointed. Also what is very funny, is that Hexen: Edge of Chaos, which was made by a group of people, was more successful then the actual Doom 3 itself. It just goes to show you nowadays, that Modders are becoming more productive with new ideas much more effective then gaming companies of Today.

I was aware of that 'mod' or should one say TC, I never expected they finish the project in a reasonable size (Usual this projects are short on content, I mean for example making maps / levels... things got so much more difficult then in Doom times, that it consums so much more time to make a detailed level... usual people run out of juice, befor they done with a fully fledge fullscale thing.... that the only sad part for that mod, i would have loved to see a fully sized hexen 3.

And for ID.... stuff got bad right with quake2, with feeled like a 3dized doom2 just not as enjoyable to play. Then came out quake3 with i played like a handful minutes and theng o bored, (I had no internet back then and bot combat well ut beated q3a there hard.

Now recently they realsed Rage, was it last year? I dont rember but I rember me very well that the game itself was decent but a huge disapointment, I comapred it up to fallout, and expected a nice open world long play time experinces.... after a bounce of hours i played thougth it, and it was not only anti climatic but felt also very limited, you could not go what you saw beeing blocked by invisible walls. and what not... in short rage failed on me to be a good game

So what hopes should I or any of us have for Doom4? It will be probally be a mix of Doom3 and Rage I image, kinda short in gameplay time and probally also short on ideas... very very dark (to supplay 'shock' effects and what not annoying stuff.

if you ask me I dont even want to know details on D4, it will be a disapoinment to me just as much disapontment doom3 is.... D3 is maybe a neat game but its not the Doom1/2 I used to love, its a diffrent kind of shooter,.

To me Doom is the classic and noting else will ever reach up to its gameplay kind.... clostest thing that is there now is Serious Sam but Sam has its own style by now. oh well we still have our beloved source ports... and fi you want to play every wad that is out there.. you probally busy till your a grandpa XD there soooooooooooooooo many wads there heh

I've been wanting to get the Resurrection of Evil expansion, but I have the old XBox original, so that makes it difficult. I'm going to have to pick this up!
