How did USPS lose your new fursuit?

That's horrific, I think you should actually sue them for this. It is your property and the thing in question doesn't just have monetry value, but sentimental value to you as well. What a bunch of dickheads. You never know it might just turn up yet. Stranger things have happened.

I was thinking about sueing them all because I feels like someone close to me died, that feeling I am getting at the moment but different. But don't know how to sue because I never sue anyone before in all my life. I feel like a noob on doing law stuff.

Yeah I payed USPS express international postage for $80.00 which it's supposed to be 3-5 day delivery...

And guess what ???

They just gone and fucking lost it!

I wonder why did it took them about a month to realize they lost it when it should have shipped within 5 days?

Imo they should have clarified the situation when they had no movement on that express package for two days. It's not that hard to check automatically.

Here's the story. The package got sent on 18th September from San Jose. In 1 day it traveled 50 miles to San Francisco sorting facility.

So day 1 and 2 :: Everything seemed fine so far.

Day 3 :: All still good and looking forward to seeing my fursuit in a few day's.

Day 4 :: Yep still all good.

Day 5 :: I took a day off work to receive the package. I waited all day at home but never turned up. I checked the tracking and it still says in San francisco. But I did not believe it as I know the tracking is useless. I been told it's shit.

Day 6 :: Another day off work and still no package. Got a bit annoyed as it's 1 or 2 days late.

Day 7 :: Another day off work, still no package. Got pissed off due to delay and wondering if the floods up North of England was causing delays.

Day 8 to 11 :: Day off work on the 8th and called Parcel force to see what's going on and they did not know where my fursuit is.

Day 13 :: I emailed the builder and said my package got delayed.

Day 13 to 15 :: Got confused on why my USPS package got delayed.

Day 15 to 25 :: Decided to forget about it just make the days go by to feel faster and hoping it turn up soon as possible and sent a few e mails and phone calls to find out why my fursuit is delayed in the post.

Day 25 :: I e mailed the builder again and said to him to find out what's going on with USPS. He went down the post office to finds out what's going on and USPS told him that they put a manual trace for my package.

Day 30 :: I sent yet another e mail to builder to find out if there is any good news on where my package is and the builder told me the bad news that USPS lost my package. So he sent a request to USPS for an insurance claim. I was very upset and it felt like the world crashed around me. I was so looking forward to having my new fursuit but disaster struck and it got lost!

Today :: E mailed the builder today to see if he claimed the insurance for himself. Still waiting for reply. Really hoping that he get's refunded with insurance due to lost package. I don't want him to lose any money as he is an amazing builder and a great person.

Hopefully the builder got their money from USPS.
But think you should get some of that money too for the inconvenience this has caused you for lost funds due to days off work, waiting for something that never turned up

Then obviously they owe me £300.00. Not joking because after all I earn a lot. But horrible if I lose that money...

I don't know how to get any money. I know that the builder can. All I can think of is getting back the postage amount I payed for that's all I can think of =(

Why not message the bulder and ask him, or email USPS's UK base here and see what they say

The problem is that you are the recipient, USPS (or ANY postage/delivery company) doesn't have a legal contract with you and won't talk to you about claiming on insurance or refunds. The only person who can claim for anything is the sender because they paid the money and are responsible for getting the item to you safely.

Yeah the guy from Arend Studio said that he requested for insurance. So hopefully it won't be such a problem for him. Hope he be ok and get the money.

Sad thing is USPS used to be good.
But not any more.

It is because they are barely afloat any more and on the verge of bankropcy.

Hell my commissioned tail and GronV3 head had to be shipped out twice.
First time USPS tried to say my fucking address did not exist.

And I he gave me what he had put on the box and it was my address.
So I told him they are bullshitting you.

He sent it again and gee the damn package came the second time around. >.<

Being barely afloat and in debt is not an excuse. They still should give me the service that I fucking payed for the first place. USPS should think Twice before messing with us British Citizens.

I can't comment on their domestic service, but here in Canada I had a USPS driver just leave a box outside my door without even ringing. If my landlord hadn't told me it would have just stayed outside all night without my knowing.

Our "My Hermes" service where I am have a really bad habit of leaving parcels out :(. "ParcelForce" has been the best one for me to use locally.

It's a nightmare that USPS never managed to hand it over to Parcel force in the UK.

Yes I have tried puting tracking number into Parcel Force website and still the same. However I did not try the Royal Mail part. I check it just in case if it's any different.

It seems now these days that people send things through USPS because it's cheeper than Fed-Ex and UPS. Do you think going the cheaper way is good? Not for fursuits! I still haven't gotten my paws from you know who and she still owes me!

Eventually the USPS is not going to do international stuff anymore as someone mentioned earlier due to the USPS on the verge of collapse mainly in fault with the US Congress pulling funds and the top execs of USPS are fucking idiots. It is then going to be either UPS and FedEx will be the only ones who will do international mail and deliveries and UPS is pretty bad, mainly when it comes to actual dropping off packages since there have been several workers caught in the act of throwing and slamming packages on the ground, breaking the product inside while even though those who were caught were fired, there is going to be more assholes who will show up to pick up the pace. I am not sure about FedEx but I wouldn't be surprised. I am sorry that your suit got lost because of the fucking lazy ass retards here though. *hugs*

Pretty much. Where I live in the US in Virginia they want to eliminate Saturday service and well if USPS goes under, pretty much snail mailing comes to a crashing halt. You are right also that there are a lot of greedy overpaid employees who refuse to have their pay cut and well if the USPS goes under, they lose their jobs and they will whine that it was everyone else's fault while playing the dumb victim.

If I was US government then USPS would be my first priority to take action on. They would be shut down immediately due to too much debt and over payed employees refusing to take the pay cut!

Domestically I've never had a problem with the USPS but they are all union government employed workers and get paid too much to do what they do. Sorry for your problem, someone somewhere is very confused why they just recieved a fursuit.

This is the reason I REFUSE to use USPS. I use Fedex. Especially when shipping my fursuit to cons I fly to. USPS sux, even here in the states. >.< I'm sorry to hear your suit got lost.

I am depressed. Can't sleep as I can't stop thinking about USPS losing my fursuit in the post. I just can't get over it. I never slept well for ages now.

I suspect that is got caught up in customs. Once a package enters export, the tracking goes vague, and customs is a sort of no-man's land of post carriers, as it's in the secret pool until it clears. You might luck out, and it may pop out of customs and be on the way to you. Unfortunetly, international tracking is not handed off with government ran posts. Only carriers like UPS/FEDEX that go global can track a package thru. However they cost way more, but that extra cost gets more insirance on delivery.

I noticed that the USPS tracking is useless. Me and my fiance did some investigation and we now think it's stuck at the San Francisco airport in the USPS storage facility.
