need to learn to resin cast...

so badly... I've been working on a side project of hoof boots. Why? good question, I'm not entirely sure. I guess because 1. I think they're sexy 2. I love shoes (very stereotypically female there for a hot second) and the right pair of shoes can make anyone feel amazing 3. I love the idea of pony play 4. I'm losing my mind, jk not quite but I'm trying to try new things haha.
Thus far I have acquired a pair of high high heels and had my wonderful boyfriend help me saw/rip off the heels. Great. I'm at that now what phase sooo if any of you have suggestions as far as what to do from here I'd LOVE to get input. Is there a better way of making a hoof structure for a noob like myself that is terrified of resin casting? I was thinking wood but guess what? I don't know how to carve either lol so that's not gonna work terrifically, I can operate saws, I do have a sander...thing... and I am good with most power tools short of a chainsaw, which I fail epically at if I can manage to start it.

Well...that certainly explains the last pic with me and Taylor! It also gives me some ideas about you as well
A few years ago I helpd one of my buddies make a pair of hooves for a haloween costume (he went as a Satyr) what we did was take some boots (with heels) and then we wrapped them in latex sheet about a half an inch thick until they were shaped like a hoof. You just kinda wrap it around the base of the boot up to about the ankle and then we added tufts of fur to cover up the ankle and blend it into his pants. Now the tufts were more goat like for him but they could certainly be used for a clydesdale type look with a few changes. Now the latex doesnt have the hard texture like a real hoof HOWEVER the upshot of it is its very easy to work with AND its easy to walk in because they conform to your movements. I attacked the latex with my airbrush afterwards and was able to come up with a very real looking hoof color as well as some dirt and grime tones. If you use hard soled boots (like we did) you can still get them to make that nice "clomp clomp" noise when you trot on hard surfaces as well
