Shadowgate KickStarter
Welcome to the Journal of OtakuMan24 Game Player. Hope you're ready for rants and ravings on video games and other miscellaneous topics. The last thing that you remember is standing before the wizard Lakmir as he gestured wildly and chanted in an archaic tongue. Now you find yourself staring at an entryway which lies at the edge of a forest. The Druid's words still ring in your ears: “Within the walls of the Castle Shadowgate lies your quest. If the prophecies hold true, the dreaded Warlock Lord will use his dark magic to raise the Behemoth, the deadliest of the Titans, from the depths of the earth. You are the seed of prophecy, the last of the line of kings, and only you can stop the Warlock Lord from darkening our world FOREVER. Fare thee well.”These were the words that appeared on a black and white Apple Macintosh 128K 25 years ago. They belonged to the 3rd in the MacVenture series of adventure games, the first adventure games that used a point and click interface. All other adventure games before them used text parsing and keyboard commands. 2 years later, these words (slightly modified a bit), also appeared on the NES; leading the way in bringing adventure games of the PC and Mac to home consoles across the USA.
These are the words of Shadowgate. Now, 25 years later, the doors to Castle Shadowgate have opened once more, and I can finally share with you the secret I've been keeping for the past few months. This is the reason why I've been absent for so long. I've been involved in preparing for this:
Working with Shadowgate creators Dave Marsh and Karl Roelofs, I've been helping them in preparing for this KickStarter since early to mid-July. I've done extensive research into ICOM Simulations and the history of the MacVenture games. Today, October 26th, 2012, at 9 AM EST, the KickStarter campaign went live. You can find it here:
Shadowgate KickStarter PageWhile it'd be great if you can pledge and get in on the action of bringing the MacVenture games back to life, it's also okay if you can't. :) If you can spread the word about this on your own FA journals, or check out:

and Subscribe/Like/Share/Follow, then that would be a big help.
Hopefully you'll like what you see! Thanks for reading!
IT'S A SAD THING THAT YOUR ADVENTURES HAVE ENDED HERE!!
FA+

I might actually chip in to this, though I haven't played any of the games.
You could consider my role to be more like a community manager / Crowd-Funding Consultant / Social Media Expert
That sort of thing.
Part of the job involves knowing everything about Shadowgate; the history, the company, the stories, etc.
Definitely spread the word around! :)
I'm just teasing. It's all good. I was looking at the reward tiers and I want the physical soundtrack but I don't want the sculpture, and it's way expensive.
Granted, there's always room for maybe selling them later through other ways, but still... until the campaign is over, money is tight!
One of those secret behind the scenes things people don't normally think about. :)
My ideal reward tier would be some version of the game (physical or digital) and a physical copy of the soundtrack. I would buy a digital game + soundtrack + poster deal in a heartbeat.
The sculpture is cool, don't get me wrong. I just don't have any place for it. Maybe you'd get more orders for the soundtrack if it were in a cheaper tier?
My guess would be $350, but it depends on the disc costs.
Meanwhile, new journal about to go up with updates!
