Alaska Arctics Press Conference

Welcome to Balto's Journal
This is a little something I wrote. this is my first time writing so forgive my errors if I get something wrong. :oP
Shortly after the FBA Draft this took place:
Among the sea of media flashbulbs emerged to the podium the white arctic wolf General Manager
Gunnar Kassen. As he waited for the commotion to settle he cleared his throat and began to address the media.
Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Id like to thank you all for coming out tonight to our first press conference for our 2013 season. First off I'd like to thank our new sponsor The Arctic Tundra Corporation. As many of you already know our previous sponsor Alaska Airlines with drew their sponsorship from us at the end of the season. With the "Ice Box"in urgent need of renovations the Alaska Arctics would like to thank the The Arctic Tundra Corporation for their contributions in wonderful renovations to our facility. We would also like to announce the renaming of the the arena from The Alaska Airlines Arena to The Arctic Tundra Arena. *the attending crowd claps*
.. and now to the matter at hand. *he motions to his left to the new team members seated at the table next to him* To my left here I would like to officially present to you the newest members of the Alaska Arctics.
Our first new player to emerge from the draft is a young man who needs no introduction. I know the climate may not be as "Tropical" as hes used to in Hawaii but I know the passion and fire this young athlete has for the game will keep him warm here in Alaska. Let me be the first to offer him a warm welcome to the Alaska Arctics Neil Warren. * The crowd claps as hes presented with his official team Jersey*
Welcome Neil. Some one let Facilities know they will need to keep the arena a bit warmer this year *winks playfully to Neil and smiles*
Our next pick in the draft is another great athlete who we have had an eye on for quite some time. This year we will be taking a different approach to the game. In the past we have relied on speed, while this is indeed a factor it has been clear to us that we have been short on one factor that a lot of other teams in the league possess, and have used to dominate the game. I'm talking about Muscle and intimidation. This young man is that and more. I'd like to welcome Howie "Reachy" Fraser to the Alaska Arctic. *Points to Howie* Look at those arms. Impressive no?
As I was saying, This year with the loss of Roger Umaechi, we not only lost a talented player but also one of our leader on the court. This year with the addition of Neil Warren and Howie Fraser, I would like to also announce 2 other individuals who will help change the image of the Alaska Arctics.
The next player was an aquistion in the trade with the Albany Alphas and the Edmonton Totems. From the Alphas Carl Esteban and From the Totems William Keen. *the 2 new players enter the news of the trade finally being made public sparks immediate questions as well as a violent burst of camera flashes, the GM begins to bring order back *
Hold on I will answer questions in a moment.. Carl and William were brought on to add to the image of this years team and with this new balance of talent we are confident can achieve our goal of victory.
*question from one of the reporters*
REPORTER: There has been talk that some of your free agent were not resigned is this true and what lead to this decision?
GM: Well to answer that question let me say both yes and no. Yes there was one free agent who we did not resign that was Olya Gala. Olya has decided to pursue other options in and we wish Olya well. Mark Ferramain was traded to the Albany Totems. The only free agent who we did resign was our starting guard Leo Sepala. We offered Leo a 4 year 22 million dollar contract. We had to fight to keep him this year but thankfully he will be donning his #21 jersey this year with the Arctics’. *Jokingly remarks* YOU”RE WELCOME LEO… *chuckles*
The reason for this decision to not resign and trade off some of our free agents is simple, It’s time for change. I have been tasked to achieve victory and with more muscle and more intimidation we can achieve victory
*More questions were fielded from the media and after a brief Q&A session with the media the GM begins to wrap up the press conference*
