Never got kicked out of the country, though; my father did get a couple offers for Germany, but we wound up in FL instead.

Good luck. My parents' military experience in Italy was hard as fuck but they made some great memories and friends. I was actually named after one of the Italians that sort of "adopted" us, and my parents still talk with them, even though we moved back to America in the mid-90's.
