Drawing tutorial ?
ok, srsly you guys...
I just tried to draw something and it turns out that I cannot. Draw that is. I can not draw. Not at all.
Thus I decided to try to trace something, for I thought that would be easyer ... turns out it isn't.
So, here I am, armed with one of these tablet thingies, two left hands and an insane lack of talent. -_-
Now, here is my question: Does anyone know a way to learn drawing? I mean, sure, to it needs a lot of practice to become good, but without knowing some basics, how is one supposed to improve?
oh, and fyi, the last time I actually drew something was in kindergarten, 20 or so years ago, so, yes, I really have absolutely no idea how to do anything...

Look at these tutorials:

http://www.drawspace.com/
You don't have to pay to view all the Drawspace tutorials but you have to pay for downloading it... There is a viewer on the site so you can learn from the tutorials online. There are many of them.
I'm not quite sure if I'm skilled enough to give you any advices but I guess it won't hurt anybody. You can talk to me from time to time so I will help you as much as I can...
What is the most important thing in drawing? Not talent, not pencils, not tablet, and even not a hand... There are some people who can draw with a foot because they lost their hands in some accidents... The only thing you need is motivation... And only motivation will help you... a tellented person without motivation will do NOTHING, while a person without any talent will progress... slowly but still... As long as you have motivation and highly set goal + good attitude, you will progress with your skills. I mean you have to stop saying "I can't"... you must start saying "I will do my best... if not this time, then maybe next time"... So this is the first thing...
The second one... Analyze... Don't look at pictures like an average watcher... don't only look what is drawn there but also try to find out how it was drawn... Depending on style: what colors has been used, how the shading made or the outline... where to put lines... I noticed that the best thing is to try to borrow some style from good artists... then... you should watch some photos and again... analyze them, then try to draw them or some elements catched in them... I think it's enough... of course practising is important... draw much regardless of what it is... and well... one more thing... don't avoid difficult things too much... I was avoiding drawing bodies and hands and now I can't do that very well... and keep in mind I couldn't draw for my entire life...
