Ooh, that's a tough one. It's kind of hard to say because I kinda got into a few of them all at the same time. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer, Kiss, Deep Purple, Van Halen, AC/DC, Motorhead... the list goes on and on. I'd have to say that I never really "got into" any particular band, but instead drowned myself in the glory of metal as a whole.

Can you tell me a bit about your profession?

I'm the "Senior Desktop Build Administrator, Information Technology Services" at Malfidor University, a private college. Essentially, I'm responsible for keeping every computer on campus running. And, thanks to being understaffed, I'm the System Administrator for the university's network and On-Site Technical Support Officer. My job is complicated due to the campus having an "applied thaumaturgy" department as it's largest wing. It's a good thing that I'm a technomancer, or I'd never be able to chase all of the gremlins out of the systems.

It's not really something that you get training in. At least, not my brand of it. It's part shamanic animism, part innate occult talent, part self-taught occult studies, and part latent techno-fetishism.

For my brand, yeah. For other forms of technomancy, I have no clue. But I suspect that it's never going to be something that just anyone can learn. Almost anyone can learn some form of Martial Art, for example, but few can master techniques like "Stone Ox", or "Breaking Point".

My favorite book would have to be "Monstrous Regiment", by Terry Pratchett. I just love the characters in it, and it's a pity that we'll probably never see or hear from Polly or Mal, ever again.

My favorite movie is an even tougher one, though, because I like so many different movies for different reasons, and it can depend on the mood that I'm in. But after thinking about it (this reply actually took over 2 hours to write) my absolute favorite film, without a doubt, it is...

WALL-E! - This film... it says so much with so little dialogue. The amount of emotion and information that is conveyed through action and sound alone is phenomenal. It a film that has everything and is just plain enjoyable. There isn't a single scene that I can honestly duck out for a quick snack run on, and it covers so many different messages, too. It can be a deep and meaningful examination of human nature, or it can be a simple romp. It gives you things to think about without trying to grab hold of your attention and scream "THINK ABOUT THIS!". It instead focuses on being an entertaining and enjoyable experience first and foremost, while framing the experience with a broader set of issues.
