Rapid Rebound

Last year, the Spokane Rapids made the FBA playoffs, but were totally dominated in the 1st round. Their preseason was quite mediocre-at-best, and if the only regular season game of theirs you saw was their opener, you might not think that their new head coach Steve Von Schnauzer was going to make them much better this year.
After that opening game though, boy did those Rapids start raging, having won their last 5 games and taking over 1st place in the Northwest! We even caught up with Coach Von Schnauzer following his win over the Montana Howlers, who had this to say:
"I know my relationship with the team started out a little rocky, and it showed in our 1st few games, but being a new coach to this league, I kind of expected that. I'm sure many are looking at Zip-Nut's stellar offense mainly, but he's not the only one I credit for the success! This really has been a team effort! Knutten sure has done much for us this year, but Exxen, Doral, Chesuk, Ziggler, and even the bench have all been stepping up on the plate whenever I send them out there! I am very proud of how we're doing so far, am quite sure our team is too, but we can't get too cocky, the season is still very young and many tough challenges lie ahead. I hope we can ride this momentum as long as we can and if we can stay healthy, I believe we'll have a good shot at that Championship trophy at the end of the season!"
When I 1st heard reports of him running wrestling drills in the preseason, I will admit that I was quite skeptical of his methods, despite his 2011 FCAA National Championship coaching the West Burlington Blackhawks, but it may an example of a change this team needs! The Rapids are certainly looking like contenders this year! For FSPN, I'm Charlie Barker.
