i was surfing youtube one day, and came across a how to footpaw vid, and so i looked into the fandom more, saw the clean art, and the not so clean... and i started talking to some furs on furry4life and i became a furry :3
I found artwork by Goldenwolf and Kalika Futago over on DeviantArt. I switched over here to follow the artists when they moved and have been in the fandom since.
I had heard of the fandom on an older art site (anyone remember Fanart Central?) and I didn't really look into it til a few years later. Read a little on them and realized how so much of what they were fit me growing up and well the rest is history.
I've always identified with cats since as far back as I can remember. As a little kid I used to play pretend with my sister and I'd always be a cat or some cat-type person. Ultimately I can't say I *became* a furry, so much as I think I always was one... the only conscious decision I made was the decision to finally make a furaffinity account.
I used to browse this 3D Avatar chat program similar to Second Life known as IMVU, then I randomly came across this artist called WingedZephyr and her furry designs. i was pretty impressed by it all and decided to look into it and found out about this thing called the furry fandom. Of course, what I saw wasn't all that good but I looked beyond that as I would with any other fandom. Now it continues 5 years later with me being an art and and having a fursona and all. I'm glad I did. (always had an interest for anthro chars anyways like Winnie werewolf from Scooby do and cartoons from te 90s)
Well, my brother introduced me to furry porn and I decided to search for some other kinds of furry art. I search for Pokémon fan art and furry art. I noticed that some of my friends were looking at a website called Elfwood. Eventually, I found FA.
I always loved cosplay and met a couple of fursuiters at a local anime convention. Since then, I've looked up furries, grew and interest in the fandom, and here I am now
I grew up in Denmark and I had one friend who draws furry art. I didn't get into the fandom until I attended an American high school as a foreign exchange student and saw a few chicks wearing fox ears and tails and they draw a lot of furry art. I became friends with them and was influenced by them so I made my fursona and joined the fandom. I noticed they used Japanese names for their fursonas. I wanted to be unique so I chose a Vietnamse name for my fursona because I'm Vietnamese. Chương is my real name and I wanted a name that goes with my name so I chose the name Chương Chó Sói hence "chó sói" is Vietnamese for "wolf" and therefore my fursona is a wolf.
I've always had a fascination with anthropomorphic animals, the whole fantasy aspect. I discovered FA a few years ago thanks to an ex, and I browsed it occasionally, coming across cleam, mature, and adult art. My old PC was crap though, so I couldn't visit the site often.
About the time I got my new PC back in May, my annoying cousin killed gaming for me by forcing me to play Skyrim for three months straight, so out of complete boredom and depression I started looking into the fandom more, and I saw how friendly the community was and how accepting they were, and I saw it as a chance to be myself and live out a fantasy.
So I thought about my fursona, wanting it to be a feline since I've always had a connection with cats. But I also didn't want to choose something overdone, and I also wanted to choose something close to home and native to my area. So I became a cougar. Once I came up with a background and everything, I was all set, and so here I am.
Pretty much everyone is so damn nice and friendly, and I have this immense love for animals that normal life couldn't satisfy. I act more feral, anyway. I always used to play animal games in elementary school and other kids would make fun of me. I'm also a very good artist and decided to get into costuming and furries kind of sucked me into the community :) Glad they did, too! It's a very big part of my life now <3
That is the exact same reason I became a furry too. Though I also discovered the fandom back in 2000 and had been trying to draw furries ever since then.
My friend tarabu from polish forum about The Lion King (www.stadolwiejziemi.pun.pl jeśli kogoś to interesuje XD) has shown me Jay Naylor's "Better Days" than suggested me to register here.
ooooh! can I just say it was jay naylor's better days that got me deeper into the other side of teh fandom, the adult aide. I was browsing PhotoBucket and came across this random web comic (me being someone who loves reading those things) I read even further into it and it stopped at a brief scene where sexual things began to happen. I became really curious to see how it would end and decided to Google it and believe it or not, jay naylor's better days came up and from there I went deeper into the fandom discovering FurAffinity.
TF art. I've always wanted to not be a human in body, so it kind of just worked out in the way that I eventually joined the fandom to fave art and watch some great people.
I met a talented fursuiter and youtuber online, who inspired me to look into the fandom a bit more. I was fascinated by the culture as a whole, and realized that I wanted to get involved.
Eh I've been a furry for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was around the third-fourth grade I've has a sona, though I didnt realize it at the time, and I've also been drawing anthromorphic creatures since before that. There was never any time that I remember firmly deciding to be a furry, I've just always been one. Lol 'pure' furry as a friend of mine put it XD
XD I've always felt a strong connection with animals, A few years ago I found some of Rarakie's Art work, Which I loved :3 After that I wanted to be a furry...but I only got my 'sona, Selkie earlier and I was dragged onto Furaffinity by my brother who's been a furry for a while now :)
You can say that I'm another victim of Star Fox 64, and all the anthropomorphic cartoons/movies of the late 80s and 90s.
Then in college, I started drawing and mixing with artists on DA. Ran into a couple of guys in RL on there, and I got sucked in deeper til I decided to follow my favorite artists here to FA. It hasn't been til recently that I've started to get comfortable with calling myself a furry, namely cuz I've found that for all the exterior weirdness most 'furries' are actually no weirder then most 'normal' people, lol!
I always liked the Disney Robin Hood movie a lot as a kid. Didn't find out about the fandom until I accidentally stumbled on some not so clean drawings.
Honestly it was when I was working as an airbrush artist. She was my boss and I happened to peek at some of her sketches one day. It was super-ironic because years before that I was really into the Lion King and part of a lion King Mailing List thingie. I was like...11 years old and she and I had interacted there too. Super-weird. o___o
Her work inspired me to draw funny cartoon animals and I've been hooked ever since!
A friend of mine talked me into joining FA, and I learned to love drawing animals and animal people. Though if asked, I don't really consider myself a one since I'm not active in the really furry aspects of the fandom.
Well, I've always been into anthros and mascots. I discovered Camp Feral 4 years ago, but didn't know it was a furry camp until last year. I discovered the fandom 2 years ago, by the TV show Weird, True and Freaky and really delved into it when I joined FurAffinity in the September of 2010.
Basically pre-existing furryness from birth and just finding out about the fandom itself made me furry.
I've known about it for awhile because one of my best friends bashed it really hard in high school. like super hate.(doesn't so much now, she takes costume commissions o - o ) but that kept me away for a long time.
but a couple months ago i really started taking interest in it. i mean- there are so many good artists here and their skill is just amazing. they pulled me into this site. and the community is really friendly here which made me stay.
lol well i was my entire life long more a fan of animals and fantasy creatures and monsters then of lame ass humans xD and yea never thought about being furry but then as i have seen one day the sergals i knew fuck it all i m gonna be a sergal xD and well yea now i m a sergal since some years and finally created an FA acc to upload my crappy art and let u guys know about me^^
I don't remember a time when I wasn't pretending to be an animal and drawing animal people! I guess I've always been a furry. But, I learned to role play thanks to an AOL chatroom called Redwall RPG back in 1998, discovered Yerf.com in 2000 (and fell in love with Kyoht's art), found VCL in 2001 and saw adult furry artwork for the first time (at age 15 haha) and was subsequently scarred for awhile, was introduced to Furcadia by a friend in 2002, had fun for awhile before stumbling into FurN and getting the awkwardest messages ever and I dunno, finally put the pieces together and discovered there was such a thing as a "furry fandom" in 2004? Made my first FA account in 2005 and went to my first convention in 2007... as they say, the rest is history... o3o
I think it's really only because I've been fascinated with Anthros since a very young age. I drew them a lot then I discovered the fandom a few years back and it grew from there. Nothing bit.
I was younger when I joined the group. About 11 or 12. Being a furry gave me a sense of belonging and acceptance, I felt at home when I went online furcadia and hung out with my Internet friends, and I never got that in real life. I was teased a lot and my home life wasn't that great
well I was just a youngin' i always had a crazed sense of imagination and never quite felt like myself. half the times when me and my pals played any kind of cops and robbers or equivalent i played the dog or wolf or animal. it used to bug some of them because my character could not talk. that trend continued throughout my life during roll playing games like DND where i almost always played some kind of animal or the monster. then i found the fandom. Lurked for a few years and then whammo! dove in head first one day because i was tired of watching from the sidelines.
I grew up on a steady diet of cartoons, and it was usually the ones with talking animal characters that I liked the best (Animaniacs, Sonic the Hedgehog, etc.). That's where my love of anthro characters came from.
For fursuiters, it was 2003 when I spent a rainy day at Magic Mountain, and I said hi to some costumed Looney Tunes characters, and they were a lot of fun to be around with (dancing, posing for the camera, etc.). It was awesome, and since then costumed characters had my respect.
In 2006-2007, I was on a message board for fans of the movie "Over the Hedge," which is still one of my favorites. I stumbled across a profile of someone who was just like those costumed critters, only they had their own suits of their own characters, which kept my interest, and I started chatting with a few of them. I was even shown this video, and it was possibly one of the most courageous things I've ever seen (don't worry, their fursuits were just fine after the event; they washed out easily).
It took a lot of searching, but in 2010, a friend of mine introduced me to the Prancing Skiltaire, a house not too far from my area where furmeets happen every month. That was my gateway to the local Furry community, and from there I forged good friendships and was informed about conventions and how one goes about getting a fursuit. Conventions soon followed, the first being a day's worth of Antheria (a startup con which had very little in the way of activities, but I did meet some good guys there), FC 2011 (my first real "con" experience), Califur 2011 (where I assisted with two variety shows as a stagehand), Antheria II (where I hugged as many suiters as I could), FC 2012 (where I first tried on a fursuit for the first time) and most recently Califur 2012, which saw the debut of my Scruffy suit.
I'm new to the fandom, but I guess I was always a furry. I always liked movies with anthro characters in them better than any others, but never knew about the fandom until recently. Back in 2011, when all the commentators I watched stopped, I'd watched every movie in my collection and I was bored out of my mind, I looked up a list of web comics and opened random ones. One was twokinds, and for some reason it was the only one I was interested in. Looked it up, found the sit, and had read the entire comic up to its latest update in less than 12 hours. I guess that was when I introduced myself to the fandom, because I looked up some things after reading about the comic and its relations to the fandom, liked it, and then I kinda slipped in and stuck. ^^ I don't plan on leaving really, ever. ^^
I had always read books and drawn comics with anthropomorphic characters, and one day, in sophomore year in high school, a friend saw a comic of mine, laughed, and asked if I was a "furfag." Naturally, I looked it up, and I've never been the same since. ^^ A year later, and I would quite being a yiffy moron! Yay!
My boyfriend told me he was a furry, and I sort of had that generic thought of, "eww wut fursuits groossss". But then, I looked into it more, because I don't like judging things if I know nothing about them. And as I looked up different things and saw what furries were all about, I realized I've liked animals/anthro characters for quite a long time: I have a maasssive amount of stuffed animals, pretty much all RARE games + any games with anthro characters, <3 furry disney movies (especially Lady and the Tramp, heh), I collect Silvanian dolls (I always hated human dolls, I opted for mermaid barbie), and have always generally acted like my fursona animal (domestic canine).
I still didn't think of myself as a furry really until I found the work of Clockwork Creature/Qarrezel. I always thought fursuits were sort of weird and mascot looking, but here were these realistic costumes that weren't typical horror-werewolf monstrosities, but what I would consider the closest to a perfect, anthro animal. Then it sort of clicked, and I got the reason/idea why people wanted to pretend. And now, I'm a fursuit maker :p Huzzah!
I was a real hyper kid when I was young, so to keep me from tearing up the house or beating my younger brother, my parents let me watch cartoons on TV and bought me "funny animal" comic books. They also took me to see many Disney movies and also Disneyland.
I got into the fandom when I stumbled onto the Funday Pawpet Show in 2003. I had no idea what a furry was when I started watching but I quickly found out. And when I did I realized I was one!
I came here 'cause I was bored and shit. Same applies with Pixiv, though I had to get the Zangoose Day comic out of the way since Zangoose Day originated on that site.
Pretty much what happens when you've nothing to talk about. Not a furry, actually.
Always loved dogs and wolves since I got to pet a wolf when I was 6. Ended up furry by association for loving werewolves ever since watching Dog Soldiers when I was a kid, then Van helsing, etc, etc...
Then there's the Freudian approach of growing up with so many cartoons with anthropomorphic animal characters.
I'm going to stick with thinking wolves are awesome and getting to pet one (making it my favorite animal) as the fursona choice.
The artwork and the open mindedness, which ironically, is also why I hate the fandom at the same time. But hey, theres things we love and hate about everything. I have made quite a few friends in the fandom, and some enemies as well.
Always have been; just didn't know there was a term for it 36 years ago, when I saw my first "fursuit" at age 4, watched my first anthro animal cartoons, drew my first anthro animals, and dreamed of being (and started RPing as) such an animal myself, running and crawling around with a homemade tail pinned to my pants. Been helplessly hooked ever since. :)
SSSQQUUEEE my topic was chosen and now i feel all special and stuffs ^w^ o3o
i guess i should share now... *clears throat for an obnoxious amount of time* uh...
i guess i have always thought of my self a bit... different... from everyone else, but i never gave it much consideration. but ever sense first grade i had always been an avid Pokemon fan :D. anyways when i was aroung 4th grade or so... the Nintendo DSi had come into my ownership and i was overjoyed. then i discovered the browser. i was on that all freakin day. at some point, i decided all day wasn't enough. so i migrated to the nighttime as well. then... HORMONES FTW i discovered porn. and i loved it. and then i thought: "hey... i love Pokemon, and naked chicks... PUT THEM TOGETHER FOR EPICNESS" so i did. and i guess i slowly progressed from there. i discovered wildcritters.ws and there i discovered an amazing comic "The Daycare Experiment" and thought it was the most epic-est thing ever. at one point i discovered FA and had recently gotten into "just for the porn" accounts. i subsiquently discovered mykiio and that he did that comic, and have been here ever sense. IT'S THE LOPUNNY'S FAULT :U
not the most dignifying of life-changing back-stories but whatever :I and yes the furry community has truly changed my life for the better, i consider it not a second life, but my life. the only place i have ever been able to be me. (aside from the closest of my friends :D) this place rocks! <3
That's a pretty impressive story might I add. I mean, what percent of furries hasn't started off based on curiosity or those desires? brilliant share! x3
i started becoming a fan after i started listining to techno music and found the furry's i had been trying to figure out what kind of art that was used and found out more about them now i cant wait to go to my first con
When I was about 6-8 years old I always had this dream of slipping under a blanket and a few minutes later being a deer. It stuck with me for the next 5 years when I started dreaming of having the wings of a bird and a lot of other animal like details. The. Come 2010 I started wanting to see the world through an animals point of view which is around the time I stumbled along furry art somewhere ( and some people I used to know we're furries so I knew about the name) and realized these people are just like me. To be honest i became a furry over on da before finding fa( for the second to e actually) and signed up and here I am today.
Believe it or not--something UNRELATED to the furry fandom got me into furry.
I used to have an character that represented me in an rp--she was a female version of a character from a show I liked at the time--who was part wolf and part fox demon. And to make her more unique, I made her "demon form" an anthropomorphic character. That character stuck with me for years and changed into my fursona over time.
Of course, I was a "closet" furry until I met another furry at my high school in my sophomore year.
I learned about it from my bro when i was little, i never felt like i fitted in as a person ever. I didn't get in touch with my furry side until recently because i just felt weird liking that sort of thing. Then i realized how wrong i was that it was ok to be a furry, and enjoy the art, and make art ext. Now i feel a little bit more happy to draw, and to talk to so many nice furries on here.
Well...I'll tell you this....Mine is a long story and its still going...
I was with my brother, he told me he was a furry, I was like, "okay cool what's a furry?" I was interested in it. He made his sona on paper, I loved it because of the creativity you can put into your sona. I was like, "well..I'm sorta of an artist/author...I wanna make mine!" His was a timber wolf, a white elegant timber wolf to quite add..then I wanted to be like my brother except..I had multi colored eyes mixed with silver and blue, he said, "your sona has awesome eyes" his was pure oceanic blue eyes. I love blue and sliver so I mixed it in with it. We were brothers too. From the same blood. We took in our characters personalities into our real self...we took care of each other, helped each other in tough times..it was more of a "I scratch your back you scratch" mine ordeal.. Till this very day we still help each other. This made our bond so spiritually strong NO ONE can break it. We are insufferable.
Few years later.... I've met someone...who was so close to me.. He was a grey/white husky with blue hair and blue note sapphiric eyes. I was still that concealed broken Timber wolf..I was scared to get out of my shell ..with so much abuse in my past, it was crazy.. He's taught me some things that I loved...he opened my eyes with great love.. I fell in love with him..his sona..and himself really.. I truly loved him..I switched to a husky..A blue/white husky you see today. One day...he left...completely... Our relationship..everything...This husky will always be sentimental value to me...because in my heart..he is still close..but physically/emotionally he detached. This is my story. And it will always be continuing to evolve. Who knows what might happen next...my husky is always changing...
I was at 4chan when they had oppened that new /vp/, pokemon board and I suddenly saw some charmeleon porn.
At first I was thinking wtf is this?! But later I thought it was kinda cute and later on I started to realize I pretty much just loved them with or without yiff so I said I'm definitely furry.
Probably the creativity that most furries have, and just the over-all community. People take everything so seriously these days, while most furries just be them self, even if I don't agree with some of them. I've never been to a convention yet, and I think fursuits are pretty cool, but I have other priorities that come first, so I haven't been very active in the community.
I don't know. I think my love for the Pokemon Lucario may have had something to do with it, but probably not. I think I truly became a furry when I found out about the fandom. In SL, the fandom is everywhere, so I didn't feel so alone anymore.
No idea. I've been like that as long as I can remember. All my invisible childhood friends were what would be called furry and I imagined to be one of them. The word/concept of "furry" doesn't exist in my language, so it was seen as quite normal for a child to imagine talking animal-humans. It just never stopped for me.
It was only 20 years later that I found out some people on the internet is quite fond of the concept.
I became a member of the Furry fandom after finding out about the Fandom while looking for a Mascot suit for my Red-tailed Hawk Character or as I now know em as fursuit. Began editing over at Wikifur and hanging in that chatroom in late 2007 and I began watching Funday Pawpet Show in early 2008. I attended my First Furry Gathering at Elliot's Winter Carnival in 2009 and made my First Big Convention in November 2009 at MFF. I finally got a Bald Eagle Fursuit in October of 2009 in time for MFF 2009 and my Victor Redtail Fursuit in Spring of 2010 in time for AC 2010. Ever since then I have been hooked and I love Fursuiting as Victor Redtail so very much.
I always roleplayed as a wolf, and people used to call me blue then my brother was on FA one day and i asked him what it was and looked into it more and realised there was more people like me who liked to roleplay as animals and draw people as animals and such x3 this was when i was 15
I've been drawing furries since I was just itty bitty, and I never even knew what a furry was. Of course I eventually stumbled upon more of the furry fandom and just felt like it spoke to me.
I became a furry, when reading a comic, it was called "Two kinds" kind of those "Add a page each day online comic" thing, and i was one ever sense that o_o
I first heard of the fandom back when I was on SL. I thought "Ok, These guys are a little different". I saw The Episode and thought "Ok, The guy I saw on SL aren't like that." and then I decided to look further in on the fandom and also got redirected to it by a friend in Freenode. It was definitely not what I expected and I havn't looked back since!
Since being in the fandom, I've definitely found that it's a great place to be and I've made lots of friends.
Seriously though, some friends and I played every tabletop RPG we could find. I used to (badly) draw my characters in these games and one day we came across World Tree.
...it all kinda goes downhill from there :P
I started drawing animals. From there I joined DA, and began to immensely improve. I have always loved animals and, when I discovered anthros I just completely fell for the art, the cuteness of it all, and the fun it brings. After a while people started calling me a furry, though they did it mockingly and with bad intentions. So I would get pissed off and tell them off and say that I was not a furry. Eventually people left me alone. It was only until this year that I began identifying myself as a furry. Whenever someone asks, I just say yes I am. To my surprise, people reacted well to it, and even told me that they were furry themselves.
So yeah, I love the furry fandom. The nice side, that is. There is always a dark side to a fandom, and I do not want to involve myself with it. I am around to show people that furries are just regular people, that not all of us yiff or are into bestiality.
So that's my story.
i started drawling them 7th grade unaware until my freshman year in highschool where a kid passed me a peice of paper that said "are you a furry?". At the time i didnt now what a furry was. so i looked it up. I got the cute, the sexy, the emotionally scaring, & the flat out twisted. The Cute Side is what caught my eye so i draw them because i wanna be a cartoonist & a video game designer using them to define lilg, my characters, & there story w/ "not sex" but "love & understanding" (and through a little action and suspense.) :3
And the first self-proclaimed furry I ran into was fenrir-lunaris, and the pornographic content of his art and games scared me away for a couple years.
*trying to use my AMAZING memory*
Always, I would have to say. From the beginning. When I was a baby, my dog Sharpie thought I was her puppy. I didn't know what a furry was called, but for truth I've ALWAYS drawn anthro creatures of sorts, with my first fursona being Blizzard, some blue creature from another planet. I also always dressed up as some kind of animal/beast. I made my own makeshift tail, ears and paws and ran around all over the yard (this being when I was a kid). I just never stopped loving to be an animal.
Discovered that furries were an actual something when I became a little less antisocial and started talking to people. (I was so antisocial that people thought I was mute) I happened to stumble across the fandom, though. I was on facebook when playing Happypets when I noticed,"hey look, There's someone wearing an animal suit. That's awesome. I want one" And I befriended the person and happened to find a random picture on my wall. 'I'm Furry and Proud of it!'. I looked it up and thought, "NORMAL PEOPLE!!!" o.o I never knew there were so many people who weren't weird. XD
I was always a furry ever since I was a child.
I just didn't know the label for it yet.
And as I grew older, and things got hard in my life I still wanted a piece of my childhood with me.
When I was 16 I figured out what the furry fandom was thanks to a quadsuit maker, her name is Wicker.
That's when I knew the name for what I was and that I wasn't just some loser who likes to play pretended, and have fun.
Then I joined FA, and I don't regret it at all, I am happy here.
The musician Furries In A Blender, my 2nd grade mascot was a wolf, middle school mascot was a fox, and High school was a dragon (my life time favorite)
I saw the movie 'Shaggy DA' where a dad turns into a shaggy haired Sheepdog, very impressive when I was 11. When he becomes the Sheepdog, he still acts Human-like the whole time, so that would be the anthro concept that we all so love.
Even before then I was all about Dogs though, and after, my drawings started to go anthro. Much later I found out about Furry and joined by default, had to. Furry hasn't helped me to get chicks, but like anything with others it's been great for social development.

The furry developers on there were very, very talented. A furry named Crash had a video series called IMVU WTF, and he was a major influence on me.

But I also didn't want to choose something overdone, and I also wanted to choose something close to home and native to my area. So I became a cougar. Once I came up with a background and everything, I was all set, and so here I am.
Can't really put a date on it.
It's not like we were bitten by a furry and turned on the next full moon.
I guess I've been "furry" for nearly two decades.

Nuff said.
Too many movies where animals had human like characteristics as a child. Like Lion King, All Dogs go to heave, Mickey mouse, etc~
For fursuiters, it was 2003 when I spent a rainy day at Magic Mountain, and I said hi to some costumed Looney Tunes characters, and they were a lot of fun to be around with (dancing, posing for the camera, etc.). It was awesome, and since then costumed characters had my respect.

Guess I stayed longer than I intended in the end.
Before the internet took off.
I also loved dragons since I could remember.
I thought it was a interesting group then and here I am now.
You're elderly. <3
I even went to one of the ConFurance too.
Califur was followed the year after Confurance quit. Been going that yearly. =3
Money being the biggest factor.
Can't make it for 2013, hopefully for 2014 tho.
We drove in from Seattle.
I got into the fandom when I stumbled onto the Funday Pawpet Show in 2003. I had no idea what a furry was when I started watching but I quickly found out. And when I did I realized I was one!
Pretty much what happens when you've nothing to talk about. Not a furry, actually.
Then there's the Freudian approach of growing up with so many cartoons with anthropomorphic animal characters.
I'm going to stick with thinking wolves are awesome and getting to pet one (making it my favorite animal) as the fursona choice.
i've long since dropped that side of it and now its just the comunity
At age 12, when I discovered the internet, I found the furry fandom and considered joining. I've been here ever since.
I love the art, crafts, creations, fursuits and the people. These are some of the nicest people I have ever met.
Of course you come across a few assholes and some downsides to the fandom, but overall it is really fantastic, at least to me.
i guess i should share now...
PUT THEM TOGETHER FOR EPICNESS" so i did. and i guess i slowly progressed from there. i discovered wildcritters.ws and there i discovered an amazing comic "The Daycare Experiment" and thought it was the most epic-est thing ever. at one point i discovered FA and had recently gotten into "just for the porn" accounts. i subsiquently discovered
not the most dignifying of life-changing back-stories but whatever :I and yes the furry community has truly changed my life for the better, i consider it not a second life, but my life. the only place i have ever been able to be me. (aside from the closest of my friends :D) this place rocks! <3
At first I was thinking wtf is this?! But later I thought it was kinda cute and later on I started to realize I pretty much just loved them with or without yiff so I said I'm definitely furry.
It was only 20 years later that I found out some people on the internet is quite fond of the concept.
So yeah, I love the furry fandom. The nice side, that is. There is always a dark side to a fandom, and I do not want to involve myself with it. I am around to show people that furries are just regular people, that not all of us yiff or are into bestiality.
So that's my story.
I guess it's better than having 'Nam flashbacks.
XD
Even before then I was all about Dogs though, and after, my drawings started to go anthro. Much later I found out about Furry and joined by default, had to. Furry hasn't helped me to get chicks, but like anything with others it's been great for social development.
