Sorry for being slow at putting out my art lately...
13 years ago
I just feel like I need to apologize to my commissioners and watchers for taking so long to get art out lately. I could blame it on the holidays, but the truth is I haven't been that busy. Certainly there were a few days where I was at or hosting parties or cleaning up after them, but that's not what has slowed me down the most.
In the last few weeks, my joints have been hurting more and more. I ache when I wake up, when I sit still long, when I walk, and most relevantly, when I draw. I can only draw for 15 to 30 minutes at a time before my fingers hurt too bad to keep holding the pencil/tablet pen. For some reason, digital art is harder for me to do than traditional. Maybe it's just because it always takes me longer. =/ I'm working on it, but it's going VERY slowly. I have to draw for 15 minutes, and then go find something else I can do for an hour until my hands stop hurting. X.=.x
That being said, I am sorry my art is taking so long for me to complete. I AM still working on it, and I'm trying to get it all done ASAP. I apologize for the delays. I'll keep everyone updated and update the list on my homepage as things get done. >.=.>;
As for future commissions, I'm going to the doctor on the 7th. Hopefully I've just got something wrong that fixable (ie, a vitamin deficiency), but right now it looks like I might be developing Rheumatoid Arthritis. If that's what the doctor thinks, hopefully he can prescribe me something that will at least ease the pain some so I can get back to work at a faster pace. If not, my commissions will be permanently slowed. I'll have to start putting a cap on them so people aren't waiting a month in line for me to get to them. That's not fair to you to have to wait that long just for me to get to you. 6.=.6
If that is indeed the case, I'll probably be slowing down on digital work the most. I'll probably bump up the cost for digital work a bit more to encourage more traditional art. I can get that done much faster and easier... Those won't be slowed down nearly so much. I can do a sketch in 30 minutes most of the time, so traditional pages can still get done in a day or two. Digital, however, is taking me weeks a page right now. I'm sorry again, but I'm doing my best. X.=.x

It got really bad after that company Christmas party on the 7th. My knee has yet to stop hurting, and my hands and feet hurt most of the time. X.=.x Going off how they ache and burn (and are physically hot) when I wake up, sit still long, or use them for very long, I'm pretty sure I have arthritis. It's about the only thing that does that without a history of trauma to your joints or to all of them at once. >.=.>;
Maybe I'm just being a pansy. The pain itself isn't /that/ bad most of the time. On the 1-10 scale (1 being hardly noticeable, 10 being the worse pain ever, for me giving birth), it usually hovers at a 2. Doing too much has made it peak at a 6, mainly in my left knee. I've hurt that knee a lot in the past skating. As a marker, by 8 I'd be screaming. A six is "Ow... Ow... Ow..." while walking usually. ^.=.^; There have been a few times I plainly could not stand because my knee told me to f*** off. o.=.o;
On a random, related aside, one of my worst problems (the one for which I am actually filing for disability) is PTSD. Apparently it has been proven in lab tests to be improved by ecstasy. o.=.o;; Weird.
I have to see the doctor before I can have all the info together and send in my last disability stuff. I gather like 90% are rejected the first time and that rejection can take up to 3 months to get back. Then you're supposed to PAY a lawyer to help you get disability. IF we could ever get that, we could afford to eat proper food again. It still wouldn't be enough to afford daycare, so we still wouldn't be able to get out much, but at least I wouldn't be at home alone cold and malnourished all day on top of being in pain. 6.=.6;
My fingers are aching a lot lately with this cold weather. I can't breathe when I step outside in it. At least we still have leftovers to eat. >.=.>; Kitty got a nice Christmas bonus, and we finally finished paying off the pet deposit. Soon Eevee will be done with formula, and that'll reduce our bills another good $100/month. She just started using sippy cups. I need to teach her to use a real cup, but if she doesn't spill it, I do. I can't grip things very well, including my pens, the gameboy (DS) I've been trying to play, or anything else smaller around than a soda can. X.=.x My hands don't want to curl or straighten. It seems they just want to hurt. D=
anyway, if you think you're uploading few things in the last days take a look at my gallery and see what I've done in 7 months xD that will cheer you up for sure
